Fabulous food and service, always. I had a delicious crab omelette, and my friend had filet mignon. After we had coffee and lemon soufflé. It was great!

We've eaten here before - not sure what went wrong. They seemed short handed. Our poor server had to bus her own table. We were one of the first couples seated and received our food last. My husband's steak was cold. They did the right thing and comped him for it. I ordered a glass of chardonnay. It wasn't chilled so they tried to talk me into a different brand. I had to wait until the food came while it chilled.

My friend and I had tickets to see a musical at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, so we needed to find a restaurant nearby to have a dinner before the show. We ended up choosing Morton's The Steakhouse. It was an utter disappointment. Their overall concept along with a boring menu felt quite dated, compatible with the high average age of the patrons around us. Our server was either inexperienced or just not on top of his game. We both ordered Mixed Grills with Filet Mignon, Grilled Shrimp and Scallops. We also ordered Au Gratin potatoes and asparagus as side dishes. However, he failed to tell us that our meal choice already came with asparagus. The food was OK but absolutely not worth the excessively high price. If money is not an issue, and you are not looking for an exciting evening, Morton's is a good choice for a quiet, romantic dinner with a good wine selection.

Very Dark. Can hardly read the menu. Price was too high for steaks. It was ok if you want to spend a lot of money to say you went to Morton.

I don't think you can go wrong at Mortons from the appetizers, to the amazing steaks, very fresh fish, amazing chicken Christopher and don't forget to order your chocolate soufflé with dinner it takes 30 minutes to cook and worth every single mouth watering bite! The side dishes do not come with your entree however each side dish is large enough for two or three people which makes it nice to get a few different options. All the potatoes are fabulous so you can't go wrong with any choice. If you like blue cheese the beef steak tomatoes with blue cheese is a must have prior to your entree.

The service was amazing! Our server was warm & friendly. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy and even created a menu for our 5 & 7 year old! The food was horrible! The sides were burnt and over cooked. The surf and turf served on the same plate had juices & sauce running all over plate. Not a good combo. We expected so much more with the food.

It took 20 minutes to get drinks after sitting down. The food also took a long time. The waiter said they only had one salad worker, which caused the delay. As a result, they brought our main dishes out before we were half way done with our salads. They had to take the food back to the kitchen, so we could finish. We all ordered our meat cooked 'medium well' yet not one piece of meat was cooked to that request. They were all very pink inside and the ribeye steak had a lot of fat. It used to be they would present your cut of meat on a platter for you to select before cooking it. I guess they don't do that anymore. The portions are also smaller. My entire family felt the dinner was not a positive experience. It certainly was not worth what they are charging. Lastly, it is very loud inside and difficult to carry on any conversation without raised voices. I doubt we would ever return to a Morton's.

Well we eat out quite a bit and always are looking for an incredible steak house. Unfortunately we decided to celebrate our 25th Anniversary here although we normally go to Flemings oe Mastros.

The restaurant was very dark, too open and not personalized, it almost felt like a giant Las Vegas buffet type setting, way to impersonal and dark. Did not haveintimate ambiance nor a comfortable feel.

We both chose you 3 course entree specials and the filets were good enough but definitely not what we would expect out a Mortons. The Morton salad was a huge disappointment , we should of opted for a ceasar. Our server had a trainee which is understandable however in talking so much with him she really didn't pay much attention to him. When the trainer came back a few times he was much friendlier, helpful and appears to be a better waiter although a trainee.

All we can say is this particular Mortons is no Flemings or upscale steakhouse, just a dark over priced disappointment, sorry to say.

The food was wonderful, minus our filets being a little over cooked. However, our server was very inattentive. Our empty plates sat in front of us for 15 mins without being removed. We were his only table not drinking alcohol, so I figure he didn’t think our ticket $ wouldn’t be worth putting in much effort

We visited Morton’s because our son is a carnivore. The whole evening was great.

The bar man made a great cucumber gimlet. A great way to start an evening. The hostess and our server knew the menu and provided some good input. And our server worked with the kitchen so we could enjoy a bit of a “tasting menu” on the side dishes.

What’s could be better than satisfied smiles as we headed out the door.

When the hostess tells you to go sit in the bar and come back in 15 minutes rather than coming to get us should have been a hint. Then when we are seated, we inquired about getting a booth instead of a table. The hostess says, “I will check and be right back”. She never came back. The server greeted us well and inquired about my allergy which always scores points with me though he was very busy tonight. We ordered a lobster for my wife and a filet for me. My meal was good however my wife’s lobster stopped way short of being a good lobster. unfortunately, we were hungry and we ate. With some time later on in the meal, we asked the server questions. The lobster is not live lobster it is refrigerated lobster. Why did we ask? My believes that the lobster was rubbery. My wife is one of those people that before she will send a meal back it has to be horrible. Well, she is paying for it now because three hours later she is not well. By this point, we had already paid for the meal. Anyway, we talked with the server and he said he was going to get the manager. Twelve minutes go by and no manager; we decide to leave. Morton’s does not have lobsters in the tank they have them chilling in the refrigerator for who knows how long.
So much potential.....

Bummed about this review. Food was served on very hot dishes - but actual food was lukewarm - literally bordering on cold. I asked for 6 grilled shrimp since I didn't want anything doused in better and bacon (which I don't eat) and got charged $44.00. House salad I ordered had frozen, limp lettuce and completely doused in dressing. Husband's steak was undercooked and chewy - yes, I watched him cut it b/c I thought he was being picky. Nope - hard to cut. Just overall not an experience that we were expecting at Morton's. $291.00 not well spent.

We like Mortons steak house a lot. In fact, we usually dine here 3 to 4 times a year. However, the steaks were not cook as per my dining companions specifications during this meal. All three steaks came out almost well done when all three requested for medium well or medium.

One of our old favorite restaurants in the OC. We were greeted and seated promptly .Our waiter was most helpful, explaining the menu selections and specials. I ordered a cocktail which was a delicious and perfectly prepared martini. We shared 6 oysters on the half shell which were very tasty and fresh. We also ordered a very nice wine from their list went well with our orders.Next were our entrees, porterhouse steak for me , med rare and the miso cod , my wife's favorite . Added a jumbo baked potato side to share with all the trimmings.. My steak and her fish and everything were perfectly prepared to order and delicious. They serve a loaf of onion bread and butter which I look forward to when dining here. They even gave us some to take home.
Overall, it was a great night out for the 2 of us , great service fabulous food and we will certainly come back.

We had a nice evening that ended so odd when our check was presented by someone we didn't recognize and notified us that our server was sitting in the office...later came out to pick it up.

It was my friends birthday and not fantastic sitting by the exit sign which was glaring in our eyes.... not very attractive at all. I think if it's for somebody's birthday or special occasion they should've put a little bit more effort into not putting us in the corner by the exit sign. If I am going to drop 650.00 for 2 people to dine I had hoped to be more in the dining room so that we can enjoy the ambiance and beauty of the restaurant. They had plenty of open spaces yet we got stuck in the back in possibly the most unattractive spot in the whole place.

Food was excellent. Our server ok.

If you're in the mood for steak, this place won't disappoint. A bit pricey but I guess that's to be expected in the South Coast Plaza area. Nice atmosphere but the lighting is a bit dark for my old eyes, good setting if you're on a romantic date. Not great but a decent wine list. Chopped salad was delicious and the steaks were cooked as expected (medium rare was cooked medium rare). Service was very good but for these prices I was excepting more attention to detail, we ordered a bottle of wine and except for the initial tasting, I basically pure it myself the whole night. As with other high end steak places, all the sides are extra. Bake potatoes were cooked perfectly and the soufflé gets a 10. Overall, a great dinner, just bring your big wallet. My one disappointment was they charge for valet, not a good way to end the night, I would have gave the valet that amount for a tip anyway charging that upfront seemed a bit over the top.

Normally we don't do lunch at a Morton's style restaurant. A pleasant surprise as the lunch menu is quite broad and very tasty. We opted for sandwich faire and were not disappointed in the least. Competitive prices for sandwiches and filled with tasty, deluxe food. Keep it up.

When first entering the restaurant we discovered there was no line of customers for a 7 PM reservation. I found that odd for a restaurant on a Saturday night situated near South Coast Plaza. . Around the corner we could see 8-10 vacant tables for four. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated which we found to be unacceptable, especially with three people staffing the front desk. Our wait person Omar was very attentive and professional. We are an older group so we did not want to order appetizers or first courses. A few of us had salads. We all ordered steaks and they were done perfectly to order, either medium rare or rare. The side dishes were very good except for the onion rings which we found pretty average. We just had dinner at Donovan's in La Jolla after the races the week before. We found their onion rings far superior. Your chef ought to check that out. We ordered two soufflés for the table which were great, just like we remembered. Omar decanted the 2006 Isoceles that I brought in to the restaurant professionally. The only thing I can say is that your corkage fee at $35 is higher than other restaurants in the Costa Mesa, Newport Beach area. We will have to go back and see if some of these wrinkles get smoothed out. Otherwise we did have a good time.
