Cold Water Lobster Tail
My wife and I visited our favorite restaurant, Morton's Steakhouse in Sacramento, for our date night last night. As usual, the food, staff, and ambiance were superb!! I highly recommend Morton's Steakhouse!
I have been to Morton’s on several occasions and never had a bad experience until this time. We got the bacon wrapped scallops to start which were perfectly done. For the main course we both got the Cajun ribeye. I have had this particular ribeye here twice before and It was absolutely fantastic and super flavorful. This time though there was no flavor at all on either of our steaks. The person that was at this dinner with me used to work at a steak house and pointed out that my cut of meat I had received was not a ribeye. We told our waiter (who was fantastic) and he took them back to the kitchen so the Cajun rub could be put on the steaks but when we got our original steaks back they were still the same flavor just cooked longer. Looking beyond receiving the wrong cut of meat and not getting the Cajun flavoring my steak was very chewy and tough. I’m not sure if this was just a one off experience or not but either way when you go to Morton’s there is a certain level of dinning one is expecting and this visit did not meet that standard.
I don’t mind paying premium prices for a good experience. We were sat in the overflow…paid $50 corkage. We felt like we were at the Cheesecake Factory not Mortons.
They were out of inventory of the only Moscato we wanted to order. Other than that, overall great experience per usual.
Nice place pretty good steak depending on which one you order. Kind of rushed service. Small tables with huge menus, menus are so big they don’t fit on the table with all the other stuff. Meat ball appetizer came out lukewarm, mashed patatos lukewarm, second order of bread never showed up. Got asked about dessert 5 times. Appetizer plates brought out after appetizers were on the table for a couple mins. Over all it wasn’t bad, but for the prices they charge service should be better, but I guess this is the sign of the times.
This was our first time visiting here. This was a birthday dinner for me and I've always heard about Morton's so I really wanted to try it.
We had reservations and was able to be seated a little ahead of time. The atmosphere was very nice and the place was packed. Once seated, our server took a little longer than we would have liked to come to us, but we could see how busy they were so I won't hold that against them.
After ordering our food, I was impressed because it really didn't take that long to come to us. Especially after watching the hostesses, servers and bussers constantly zooming back and forth. The place was hoppin'!
My wife ordered the Filet Mignon (6oz) and Lobster tail with a side of smoked gouda potatoes au gratin. I had the bone in ribeye (22oz) with garlic butter and a side of sautéed roasted Brussel sprouts. The only word that comes to mind....PERFECTION!
The meat was tender and the flavor was phenomenal! For dessert, my wife ordered the Créme Brule and I had the key lime pie.
Everything was exquisite and I can't wait to go back.
Always a great dining experience!
Love the food and everyone was super nice
Steak was burnt and dry. Creamed spinach tasted like smoke. Waiter messed up the bill and still charged me for an item that I sent back. I do not plan to ever return to this location
The food is very pricey $239 later & tip we were still hungry later that evening
Celebrating New Year’s Eve. Ariana our server was amazing!!!
Celebrate closing of 2021
My $75 Kansas City bone in New York I ordered came to the table cold, even after the waiter asked if I wanted the steaks brought out right away or to wait until until our salads were finished. I made it a point to ask that it be brought as quickly as possible. So I spent $279 on a tab at Morton’s to get a cold steak delivered.
All around great restaurant, nice to get out on Christmas Day and no others were celebrating "out" as well. I did not know there was valet parking, I guess I did not catch that on the website. I was about to drop off my family and look for street parking then saw the sign tucked away under the eave. We'll go again, ... hope next time there is carrot cake and rack of lamb! LOL
We have dined at Morton's several times. This was by far our worst experience there. We waited over an hour to be served after our orders were taken. When the food arrived it was almost cold. The manager had the seafood items replaced but we had to wait for them which made the meal disjointed and not the experience we expected. I understand that it was Christmas day and that they were busy y,but that is no excuse for the quality of food and service for the price we paid.
Dined here for Christmas dinner. Overall, we had a great time. The food was presented nicely. I was a bit disappointed in the small filet and have to say I enjoyed the appetizers more than the steak. The wagyu meatballs were delicious. And if they served the lobster ravioli with mushrooms I’d definitely pick that next time. We all liked that the creamed spinach was made with fresh whole spinach and the roasted Brussels sprouts w/bacon was perfect. My table mates loved the freshwater lobster tail and the recommendation for the large cut filet to be butterflied if cooked medium was appreciated. For dessert we enjoyed the crème brûlée and key lime pie. The wait staff was very busy but attentive. The noise level of the room made it difficult to hear. The music could have been turned down a little.
The dining room is very crowded. There are no private booths or feeling of privacy. The food and service were great.
A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We celebrated my son's 18th birthday with party of 6. Edgar was outstanding in his service. He accommodated
our needs down to the tee. Food was excellent. That black truffle butter was a winner with everyone. Thank you for making my son's first fine dining experience memorable.
Everything was great until we were finished with our dinners. We sat for a good 20 minutes without our waiter coming over to ask about dessert and give us our bill. I finally had to go to the front desk and ask someone else to bring us our bill so we could pay. Very poor for a restaurant of this quality.
It will be a very long time, if ever, that we go back to Morton’s.
Family Christmas Dinner
Rushed to finish our second course so they can drop main course.
The single filet that was ordered med rare was rare. They took back 2 additional times to fix and still brought back rare. Rest of table was finished eating so packed it to go, still rare.
I have had a late reservation in the past and experienced something similar so beware of those late night cravings at Morton’s Sac.
Great food, wonderful customer service and always a lovely atmosphere when we have dinner here.
Dinner is always an impeccable pleasure. The food, the service, and cocktails are excellent.
A year ago we ordered the same items, cajun rib eye and the au gratin potatoes side. They were decent but definitely not as good as the first time. The Cajun ribeye was over salted and had no cajun flavor and the potatoes were just chunks of potatoes covered in cheese. There were also a good amount of times that we had to shoo away gnats from our table and we were seated inside! Not sure if we would return after today with other alternatives out there.
The service was a little slow. Overall great.
Mortons is always excellent. There isn’t one in our city so it’s a treat to enjoy a Morton’s elsewhere while traveling.
Everything was great! The food, the service, and the ambiance was outstanding.
Great staff and location
Wonderful dining experience as usual. Always the highest quality and excellent service.
Great steakhouse, nice ambience too, great to eat at a restaurant with white table cloths. The food was very good, and the cocktails well made. My only issues with the restaurant would be as follows: 1. it is very pricey, I mean very pricey, i have had many a good steak at other locations for much less than I spent at Mortons last night, in fairness those other restaurants did not have the atmosphere of Mortons, and I will leave it up to you to determine how much atmosphere is worth. Secondly, when I placed the reservation I noted that it was my mothers 80th birthday celebration, and I was a bit disappointed that they did not seat us in the main dinning room, i felt that when you make a reservation for a important event as this, it should have been treated with enough importance to warrant a table in the main dining room where the ambiance was the greatest. the room we were seated at was ok, but i feel that a better table was available in the other room. The service was perfect and iI believe my mother had a special night.
Took a dear and close friend of mine to Morton's for her birthday and what an amazing experience. Our menu was custom printed with a Happy Birthday, her name, and date on it. Excellent customer service, every bite of food was full of flavor, and the meat just melted in your mouth. The complimentary birthday dessert was do die for! (she ordered the Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate cake). And just when I thought they could do no more, they took a picture of us and put it in a signed folder. The evening was way beyond what I had expected. Thank you Morton's and our server for making it an evening to remember!
Everything try it all it was so delicious. Best steakhouse
For Thanksgiving meal they did not have the meal the promised And advertised. No one told us until we sat down. Also the table wasn’t ready for 20 minutes past a reservation
We have been to Morton’s in the past and enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal. The food was good and choices were excellent but today unlike other holiday experiences the service was so slow! I hope that it was just an anomaly because for us to have a wonderful splurge of a meal together we would expect more attentive and faster service at our table. We will be back to try again since this was just once of several other good times spent at Morton’s.
So it was very b
Wow! From the moment we entered we felt special. They printed special menus for us, and made us a special dessert for our 17th anniversary. Great experience
