Mediterranean
Moro restaurant in London’s Exmouth Market may retain its reputation as one of the hippest restaurants in one of the hippest parts of the capital, but this Clerkenwell restaurant still focuses more on good food than its own image. Moro’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar, open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven, is functional and welcoming. Cuisine of the southern Mediterranean, from the Iberian Peninsula into Northern Africa, is the menu’s exclusive province.

One of my favourite restaurants in London. It's a treat place for me, so I can't visit very regularly, but I've been going there since it first opened in the 1990s and it has been consistently superb in absolutely every way.

The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I think the price was too high and the pasta starter was a very small portion. Overall I liked it but woudln´t go back as too expensive for the amount of food given.

We came from the Barbican, really late. The net system hadn't allowed me to confirm my booking, but Moro called me and our table was saved. We ordered swiftly, n enjoyed the tastier n best cooked lamb ever! Muy ricco. Totally delicious, efficient and enjoyable. Merci Moro.

Magical cooking and wonderful service, as ever. The room is a little loud, but that’s the only drawback we identified.

A really enjoyable pre-theatre supper, and our first visit to Moro in many years. Delighted to see that it's good as it ever was. The waitress gave us great advice in recommending a second starter rather than a full main which might have been too much as a pre-theatre meal, and what a good move that was, as we had room for the Malaga raisin ice cream which was obscenely delicious - and I don't even like ice cream!

Excellent food and service, as always. But it was very quiet on this Sunday evening. Obviously nothing to do with Moro, as London was very quiet. We love this place and whenever possible we'll return.

This restaurant is in the characterful Exmouth Market area and only a stone’s throw from Sadlers Wells. Easy parking nearby at the weekends and within an easy short walk from Sadlers.

We found the menu absolutely delicious and the wide choice of types of food and ingredients was very pleasing. We were particularly glad to see a selection of interesting cocktails and beers available.

We paid £45 for a main course and a cocktail.

This was a small family meeting before a Wells Nutcracker matinee. The two very active and adventurous teenagers and their GP parents here for the first time were very impressed by all aspects of the food, staff and general ambience; making a great time for the six of us. Thank you.

The food was delicious, we had the lamb and pork. The service is the only thing that let it down. We waited 25mins and no one came over to take our dessert order, in the end we managed to call down a member of staff, Ruby who we told we had waited for some time and had run out of time (we had to go on to somewhere else). She was dismissive, barely said a word and went to get our bill. Overall the food is great but the service sub par considering the prices.

Nice meal. But the table was really cramped for the four of us. The restaurant was half empty. Couldn't we have had a bigger table?

Also - looking back on my lunch - I had the lamb - it needed something green with it.

Booked for birthday lunch and was given a nice window seat. Service pleasant. Restaurant about 15% full so rather lacked ambience. All food - vegetarian mezze, pork belly and lamb - judged very good. Perhaps the star was the vegetarian with lovely sharp flavours. Turkish salad to start also excellent. Highly recommended Med restaurant that cooks to its high reputation.

We’ve never seen Moro so quiet! As always an attractive menu with difficult decisions. Excellent/outstanding fennel orange and salt cod salad. V good beetroot soup. Chicken mains for me and veg mezze for her. Dry January for her. Glass of Amontillado for me. Anniversary for us and post ballet

Like a great piece of music Moro never fails to be interesting and delicious.

I've been going here for years now: I've never been unhappy when I leave.

I always spend too much but that's because it's so good.

Just love it!

I have been to Moro a few times over a long period and the food is always delightful. It has a distinctly relaxed and unstuffy bistrot feel. I wonder if the decor or layout has changed since it opened? The cheapest "house" red - a Tempranillo at £30 a bottle is lovely.
