Sake recommend was excellent. Food was great!
Food & service was awesome, a lovely place for a special occasion in Waikiki, or just for a delicious meal!
We like the choice of dishes in Morimoto Napa and old location in Modern hotel more. Most house special dishes do not stand out as we expected. Highly recommend Morimoto to hire more waiters. Our waitress was pretty overloaded. If you never try Morimoto before, it is still a choice. Overall, there is no attracted points to bring us back to Morimoto Asia Waikiki again.
Could not have been better!
Delicious, delicate food in a beautiful setting. Worth every penny.
Everything was absolutely FABULOUS!!
Extremely friendly and attentive service, who explained all our questions thoroughly and completely. They were happy to make recommendations that proved to be outstanding. Very different from, sat, Morimoto Philadelphia, and quite appropriately so for Waikiki, but one can nonetheless sense Morimoto in the meal. Outstanding!
Food was amazing and service was welcoming and swift. The Sushi was heavenly!
Crispy duck was not very Crispy and it was greasy. Appetizers were great
Great location and lovely facility -- but the food was average at best. Not bad by any means, just not special. The servers were attentive and helpful.
The food is amazing our favorite is the roast duck
Great food and environment. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a special night out.
Food was amazing. Service was wonderful. View was gorgeous.
Great food and service! Highly recommend the pork gyoza, hamachi tacos, orange chicken spicy tuna rolls. Will defiantly come back
Fantastic. The food was outstanding . Would go back in a heartbeat
Went to dinner for my boyfriends birthday, had amazing food with amazing service.
Great food. Great service. Interesting and tasty!
Amazing experience, excellent food & service. Definitely a must in Hawaii
Having seen Iron Chef, we were excited to visit this restaurant. Unfortunately, the overall experience was bad, not worth the effort or money.
We were seated quite promptly, but then everything went downhill from there. The table was not laid out. The wine took 40 min to arrive. The food came really spread out. Only saving grace was the appetisers came before the entrees. The rice arrived about 20 min after the entrees. We were almost finished with the entrees before the rice arrived. The second round of wine took about 30 min to arrive.
Having had enough of this horrible service, we called the wait staff and told them, they took off wines from the bill as an apology. All this while, there were 2-3 people serving the table next to us.
Bad service, not worth the money or effort spent and not worth an Iron Chefs name on the door.
Awesome place. Delicious food and beautiful location.
New Year’s Eve. Waited 20 min with reservation so not bad
We were seated 20 minutes past our reservation time. Ventilations was lousy.....entire restaurant was filled with fried oily smell. Although we had a table next to the open door table, I did not felt the fresh air from the outside, just smoky air all around me. Improvement of ventilation is necessary for more enjoyable dinning
Very disappointing . We were a party of six that went fir New Years Eve. Even accounting for normal challenges associated with NYE, the experience is far below the standard that the Morimoto establishments of Philadelphia, New York, Boca Raton and Vegas have set. Food was erratic - the beef carpaccio, jellyfish and rock shrimp tempura were very good, the pork belly, hainanese chicken rice and yellowtail bibimbap were relatively bland. Service was overtaxed - dirty dishes piled up and we were given one dessert menu for the entire table. Our drinks were made incorrectly and had to be sent back. For the typical high prices charged, a better experience needs to be delivered.
Food was done pretty well. Gimmicks aside, you can find most of their items at ANY place - they just offer it all in one spot, like a Vegas strip restaurant. Dim sum all regular. Japanese rolls (couldn't taste the lobster at all but nice presentation), wagyu, and fusion all same. Thai food, nothing special but good spice and flavors... neat wagyu self-cook apparatus BUT couldn't get hot enough to get a good sear so wasnt that good.
Must have the dessert - chocolate sphere for presentation alone. The rest arejust so-so.
And the server missed four of our orders but played it off like "oh, the kitchen must've forgotten - I thought that was odd..." he was nice but NAH. I need competence!
It was New Years. Tough nite to review. Understaffed and slow in kitchen. My dinner came out first and it was a little cold. My wife’s dinner came out more than 10 minutes later.
Very disappointing! Was there for over 2 hrs, and was unable to get our complete dinner.
Wow what a great place all of our meals were fantastic and the chocolate sphere and banana pudding was outstanding we loved it
Absolutely amazing food, service and view. Great way to spend NYE!
This the 4th Morimoto restaurant that we have visited. The food is consistently at a very high level, fresh ingredients and very flavorful.
Service was as expected. Living up to the reputation that the chef has developed worldwide,
My recommendation is based on the view and the service, both which were very good. However, the Asian dishes we had were average and overpriced. Four of us ate there for dinner, spent over $200 and were still hungry. (We did have 4 cocktails, which added to the steep price - they were just ok too). Lunch might be the better option.
It was nice for this one special occasion, but we'll probably dine elsewhere in the future to get more "bang for our buck".
A good restaurant but I would recommend others before Morimoto Asia. Service was excellent though.
My second time here, the first time had a bad experience. They invited me back to make up for their shortcomings. The meal fell short, they even forget to bring our sushi items that we ordered.
Sorry guys, my favorite hotel might be the A'lohilani but i don't have to eat at their restaurants.
Such a shame because its a really nice place. rich
While Morimoto Asia was very crowded and has a rather upscale seeming ambiance, the food was nothing more than general Asian fusion. I had the yakisoba which lacked nuance in its flavor - it was neither upscale or had the depth of yakisoba from a hole in the wall. The gyoza and sushi were slightly above average.
Good was good, although not very gluten-free friendly, service was pleasant and helpful. We found it very noisy
What a great night and what an amazing experience. The food was wonderful and we loved our servers. It was our anniversary and we went all out and ordered all the yumminess. We are still dreaming of the red curry! My only regret is that they were out of the Mango sticky rice. That just means we get to go back! This might just be our new go to restaurant for special occasions.
Celebrating holiday season in wonderful Hawaii. It was not known that 90% of the sauces in the dishes had oyster sauce as an ingredient; one of the guests is allergic to shellfish so the choices seemed limiting. The food was all in all fabulous and service was excellent. Now if only there’s a way to try the fabulous ribs to not be fried in same oil as shrimp or have the fryer close together due to cross contamination (with sauce on side?).
It was a great place. It was my first time there. We were greeted very warmly. Table wasn’t ready yet but we did get there a little early. We had a drink at the bar and then were seated on time. Waiter was very courteous and friendly. He was very informative with the menu and helpful in helping us chose items. The food was great especially the sticky ribs and the bbq cod. My favorites. Definitely will go back.
