   I’ve been celebrating my birthday here for the past 5 years—it’s always been a highlight of my trip, with amazing food, great service, and beautiful views. Unfortunately, this year was a huge disappointment, all because of the service. Our server seemed completely uninterested in being there. We waited a long time just to be greeted, and by the time he arrived, we were ready to order everything. He never checked in on us, and when we asked about missing dishes, his response was careless: “Oh, I thought you got them.” No apology, no urgency. The food runners also seemed disengaged, dropping off plates with zero enthusiasm. It was my birthday, and my mother’s as well, but there was no real effort to make the experience feel special. When my mom reminded him it was my birthday, he snapped, “We know.” Later, when he brought out the dessert, he lit one item without saying a word and walked off. We had to ask him to light the birthday candle, and he sighed before doing it—like it was a huge inconvenience. Even paying the bill was a hassle. We waited again, only for him to say he thought the manager had handled it, which they hadn’t. The food was still great, but the attitude and inattentiveness from our server truly ruined what should have been a joyful evening. I hope this was an isolated incident, but it left a lasting impression I won’t soon forget.

   Amazing elevated cuisine in a prime location in Waikiki. The bartender Caroline went above and beyond for us, treating us to pineapple sake before our table was ready. The rest of the staff was extremely courteous, except our server Anthony, who made my husband and I feel like we were beneath him. The worst of these offenses was that we were brought a dessert menu and informed we only had seconds to decide on a dessert before the kitchen closed for the night. We think we would have had a better time if we simply ordered our food from the bar, and I'd advise anyone else considering Morimoto to do the same.

   The service and the food are both excellent. Anthony guided very well for sake exprience and food choice. So happy that I have chosen this restaurant for the first night. It was a great start for me in Hawaii

   Interesting menu. Everything we ate was good even the adventurous angry lobster. Stag was lovely and view great

   They charged us 6 dollars for ICE without notifying us ahead of time for the upcharge. They bribed my husband and I for a good review by offering us free alcohol for a 5 star review.

   The overall experience was good — nothing in particular was wrong at all, but the experience was also not necessarily mind blowing. Not in a bad way, I just kept thinking that it was a slightly elevated PF Chang’s type experience all the way around. Best dish — Fish Carpaccio. Might be better if we sat on the balcony overlooking the ocean/beach in the distance. We sat at the bar and it had a bit too much of a hotel bar feeling for us.

   Food flavours were inconsistent. The fried rice was bland and felt like they forgot the seasoning.
