As usual, great food and wine in a wonderful setting.
We had a very nice dinner before seeing the Earth, Wind and Fire concert at Fantasy Springs. Good cocktails and really great food. The service was excellent! We'll go back the next time we're at La Quinta.
This was not my first time here and this trip was a lot different than the last. The food, wine and options were amazing as always, but the service seemed off. I don't know if they were just really busy or if our server was just flighty but almost like worked up about something. It didn't bother our visit at all, but I'd expect 100% to match the rest of the AWESOME ness of this place.
We always love everything about Morgan's. They never disappoint in any way!!
Always the very best. Exceptional dinner!
A lovely evening dining al fresco. Great, very professional service, tasty, creative food. We’ll be back!
Excellent outdoor setting with great service. The food was good as always.
Dined while on a mini vacation, most excellent all around. We ate outside to enjoy the view of the garden. Food was great, ambiance wonderful and service super attentive.
Perfect- Ahi Tuna from Chargrill menu and Indio sweet corn and a bottle of Pinot noir is to live for. Our server was Rebbeca and her service was impeccable The weather was in the 80’s we sat on the front patio watching the Coachella Fest youth head to the concert. A spot on perfect evening.
Wonderful customer service, great ambiance and delicious food!
Dined here many times, and the food and service are usually better. Service felt too formal to the point of awkward. Fish was beautifully prepared, but not quite hot enough. It was Coachella weekend so maybe they were swamped and off their game a bit. Great restaurant though. Would recommend to anyone!
Morgan's has never disappointed us and is a must on every visit to the desert.
One of the best restaurants in the desert! A hidden gem at the La Quint resort.
Super location, great food, great service. Love it
We had a near perfect dinner here. We sat on the patio and had great cocktails. Then each one of us had a perfectly cooked dish- Moreover, our wonderful waitress- originally from Guadalajara- was professional, kind ( especially to my niece's five year old) and always on top of things. ( including getting her fed first before she had a melt down).
I have eaten here before and always liked it - but this night was perfection.
Reserved a table on the patio. Waited 20 mins & got a table inside. Very limited menu. Not much seafood(no swordfish or halibut, Atlantic salmon:( )
two odd pasta’s & the obligatory steaks. All at resort/tourist prices.
Service was poor albeit they were busy but a resort like this should have plenty of staff. Nice place but poor value, service & menu.
Heard so much but was terribly disappointed. On the positive side, It is truly one of the most gorgeous restaurants I've seen, so well done there. But......
First , when we sat down, the reservation was made under my name ( female) yet the server greeted our table of four with a "Hello Mr. ________" Our whole table was horrified. What is this 1950? Luckily I wasn't taking clients to dinner here or that would have been WILDY inappropriate and a huge embarrassment. It's very touristy in that the food is insanely overpriced. I've traveled extensively and completely understand "upscale" and overpriced resorts etc... but this was so obviously overpriced we all felt like suckers for being there. A salad consisting of three pieces of Romaine lettuce ( each neatly trimmed to 6") for $16 is just silly. Overall the food was just ok, two of the steaks we ordered did not come as requested and one had to go back. A side of broccolini that was improperly drained and served in a very shallow dish got poured down the arm of on one in our party. Everything is ala carte so our steaks came on big empty plates with a bit of frisee. Because everything is ala carte, the table became "littered" with all lots of little dishes etc...Not exactly elegant. That being said, it is a "destination resort" spot so we should have tempered our expectations. Would not go back. Too many other great choices in the area. Even if the food was fabulous I would not bring clients or go back with friends because of the odd "Acknowledge the MAN at the table first" policy. Infuriating.
Always great food and service. We love the steak and drinks mnk
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. Morgan's is beautiful, full of history and charm. Our server Melissa was wonderful and gave us great recommendations. Jason and Abdiel were wonderful making sure that our champagne was topped off, our water was full and we were never in need of anything. We started with the roasted cauliflower appetizer upon Melissa's expert advice and it was amazing. A perfect starter and not too filling. We then shared the prime filet with porcini & cracked peppercorn, chilean sea bass, ginger scented indio sweet corn, bacon brussels sprouts, and white truffle fries. To end the perfect meal we celebrated with milk & honey which is the delicious combination of milk ice cream, oat crumble,
honey brittle, and crispy meringue. We have a 5 month old baby at home so it was magic to come and celebrate such a special occasion and be taken care of so well. Thank you to Melissa, Jason, Abdiel and everyone at Morgan's who made our night so enjoyable. We can't wait to come back again.
Service was outstanding, seating outside was beyond beautiful. For us the menu was just OK - small plates seemed to be the better way to go rather than the full on meals. Only one pasta selection at the time, seafood looked remarkable but we ended up going the salad/steak route which seemed pricey. Excellent wine menu.
Great experience, as always. Favorite place I the desert for dinner
Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we left was beyond stellar. Actually the food and service was some of the best we have had ever in our lifetime and we're in the biz. Hubby, a pro chef had the pork chops and I had the salmon with a truffle cauliflower puree. To die for. Plus it was our anniversary and they made us feel like royalty.
Looking forward to returning some day soon.
Our meal was excellent. Best chargrilled salmon I have ever had. Their ginger corn and sea salt fries sides are to die for. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive, without being intrusive. It is a lovely place to have a special meal or just a wonderful night out.
Staff is very thoughtful and the food was delicious.
There restaurants and there are restaurants. Morgan’s is a jewel in the desert or anywhere else on Earth. Yes a good restaurant must have good food. A great restaurant has great food and spectacular service. Morgan’s has spectacular service. All of the ambience in the world (which Morgan’s has), a great kitchen (which Morgan’s has), would be for nothing without the service of which Morgan’s has plenty. Congratulations to the staff, especially the serving staff.
The best part of Morgan’s are the bartenders, Bryan and Cesar!
another just ok experience at a just ok resort. Not the luxury you would expect. Service was great. Main Course was good, 1st course were not. Caesar dressing was not good, nor was carrot soup special.
I love this restaurant. Every time I visit, my husband and I go there to enjoy a nice dinner and live piano. This past visit wasn’t the best one, but I will return. I visited with friends and we were late for a reservation. Unbeknownst to me after 15 minutes Morgan’s cancel reservations. The problem is we spent that 15 minutes waiting in the valet line outside the restaurant. The place was mobbed, and it would’ve been unsafe for me to call to let the restaurant know why we were late. Cars were literally backing into other cars on the enterance road. We did not receive a courtesy call from the hostess checking to see if we were coming. When we arrived approximately 16 minutes after our reservation we were informed by the hostess that our table had been canceled and that we were out of luck. So then we were placed in the uncomfortable position of having to argue for a table with her. We were offered one on the front patio, but we were there for dinner and live music, not a valet parking-view patio seat. After an awkward and uncomfortable exchange, the manager stepped in and started setting up a table that was suddenly available. I’m not sure where that table would have been inside the restaurant, but luckily a nice table opened up in the bar right in front of live piano. We opted not to be “the squeeky wheel” anymore and sat there. We lucked out and had a great time. Our server in the bar was great, our food was delicious, the piano player was nails, and the manager was really nice.
Celebrate our wedding anniversary at Morgan’s. Sat outside on patio because it was a beautiful night in the desert. Unfortunately there was a wedding reception in the building adjacent to the patio and the music was pretty loud. We spoke to the manager of the restaurant and they did their best to get the music turned down. Definitely an improvement but not an ideal experience. The restaurant did bring us a beautiful dessert for our anniversary which was unexpected. Thanks for a general good dinner experience.
We were in town for a girls trip and I can’t recommend Morgan’s enough. It is a must do. The food was great and the service was amazing.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and the food was exceptional !
Linda & I enjoyed a great meal in superb surroundings - the food was excellent as was the very attentive service. Can’t wait to return.
Total 5 Star experience! We celebrated 3 March birthdays and one wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect! It was a busy night in the restaurant and yet the service and ambience exceeded our exoectations.
We arrived early and asked if we could get seated. They offered outdoor. We took it but then they said most of their heaters were broken, so we ended up moving back indoors and waiting for a seat. My husband ordered the tuna and it came out cold; however, they were very friendly and attentive. The wine was excellent.
I feel the resort overall needs a bit of TLC. It came highly recommended by some friends. We travel a lot and when available, stay at 5-star resorts. This was more of a 3.5 - 4 star resort in my opinion. I feel it has the potential to be 5-star and probably was at one time. The rooms needed some updates (artwork), the bathroom showers need an upgrade, the outdoor furniture was cheap, the robes in the spa were thin and fraying, etc. For someone with an eye for detail (as we have), then it's not worth the $1000-a-night charge. We would select the Parker Palm Springs in the future.
Love this restaurant- combines gourmet cuisine and old style, warm ambience ! Thank you!
The salads were tasty and nice sized. The main entrees lacked seasoning and were dry. This was the case for the pork chops and salmon. The chocolate cake dessert was delicious. The waitress was attentive and warm.
We dine at Morgan's on special occasions 2 to 3 times each season. Morgan's dining is very good however over the past couple of years prices for appetizers, starters & entrees have increased significantly. For example, appetizers/small plates range in price from $14 to $23 and most entrees are in the $40 t0 $60 price range. Service is generally very good.
