Great food and service. Great setting
Loved sitting outside, and had amazing service from our server. The food was just 'ok' - we ordered 3 medium rare steaks and received 3 medium-well / well steaks which was greatly disappointing. We felt bad to ask to turn back all 3 steaks so we just ate them. The free bread, however, was fresh and tasted great. I would still recommend this place - not for the steak, but for the ambiance.
Our waiter, Steve, made the experience wonderful with his wine pairings!! We have been going for 12 years and the restaurant is always on our list when we come to La Quinta! Highly recommend!
Amazing food and excellent service! Kim went above and beyond!
One of the best meals I have ever had in the Palm Springs area. This was the June special cherry festival meal and it was stunning;y good.
$50 Corkage fee is outrageous for that restaurant. Will go to other competitors moving forward where I can bring good wine at a much cheaper corkage fee.
I’ve dined at Morgan’s many times through the years..... the dinner last Thursday has to be in my top five in the past years anywhere. Outstanding.
Patrick is a phenomenal server who really knows his stuff.
A very pleasant dining experience. First, you walk thru the beautiful grounds of the La Quinta Resort. Then you enter a very cozy dining room with a warm atmosphere. Then you have amazing and friendly staff to enhance the experience (special shout out to our server, Anita). Then, you get delicious food served at a relaxed pace. Complimentary mini french rolls were served with an excellent salted butter. Char grilled Scallops were especially exceptional. We've been here many times and it never disappoints.
Very nice restaurant with good food and goos service. Only complaint is the $50 corckage fee on a bottle brought in which is just outrageous and way above what restaurants typically charge. The menu is expensive enough. This feels like they're taking advantage of customers.
Outstanding menu selections. Superb cocktails and wine list. Gracious but attentive service.
Solid spot but not quite up to the standard we were expecting. The indoor area is pretty nice, outdoor area is pretty bland and prone to random kids and others infiltrating the fire pit. Food was good but not spectacular—very expected. Drinks, service, general vibe and other aspects of the establishment were all good but again, not spectacular/outstanding. Maybe that is because we had a high bar coming in or maybe it is just a reflection of the establishment.
The service was good but not excellent.
Food quality and presentation was as expected.
The lobster was undercooked.
Anita saved the evening! When we arrived, we were told that new management had begun a new policy of $50 corkage fee! Completely ridiculous!!!!! We had this special evening planned for a long time and didn’t want your dinner spoiled, so we agreed. Anita was so above and beyond, providing excellent service, wonderful suggestions and overall just made the evening exactly what we anticipated. Thank you Anita❤️
All good! Nothing negative to say!
We loved it!
Go check it out!!
The best food and environment! Server was more than accommodating to us!! We will definitely be back!
We have been staying at The Resort in La Quinta for over 40 years. And, we consistently have eaten at Morgan's. It was our Wedding Anniversary and I brought a special bottle of wine....$50.00 corkage, that's outrageous! It doesn't cost that much at Nobu or Mastro's which at far superior in service and food.
Was entertaining out of town guests. Everyone's dish came out cold and wrong. Manager was not helpful at all. Will never return to this restaurant. $50 corkage fee, ridiculous.
Morgan’s now charges $50 per wine bottle for corkage fee!! More than any other restaurant in town. Not sure we love the place that much. More principle than anything.
The food was very average and it was overly expensive. I don’t mind spending money at a nice restaurant but the meal was very average
Always a pleasure to dine at Morgan’s. Service, food and ambience is one of a kind! One of our favorite places in the desert :)
Amazing food. Great service.
Roasted cauliflower was amazing. The rest of the meal was just okay. I had the duck which was very under seasoned and the skin was not even close to crispy. Very disappointing after the reviews I read when deciding where to dine.
Everything was great, unitl I became ill. I shared my food allergies, however something must have gone wrong. Very disappointing.
Fantastic food, fantastic service and fantastic drinks! We love this place.
menu seems limited a few more selections would be appreciative
Excellent ambiance and great food! Everything was hot and beautiful presentation...I don’t usually eat bread but it was so good and fresh baked we asked for seconds.
Unfortunately, everyone was disappointed. We’ve been there in years past, but never had a bad meal. Each of us were unhappy with our meal; everyone’s food was cold mine was cold and dry. The flavors were pretty good but hard to know as meat and fish served cold is not very exciting. The prices are rather high, although they wouldn’t be if the meals had been as expected.
With so many great restaurants in the area, it’s unlikely that we will go back.
Great food and location
Loved the tasting menu
Great place in the desert
Morgan's in the Desert is our "long-time" favorite restaurant in La Quinta which we dine at two to three times each season for special occasions. Service is generally outstanding. The menu items are quite "pricey" however appetizers, salads and entrees are delicious ... and consistent. We enjoy having dinner near the fireplace in the inside dining room area.
The food is delicious, but it also took forever to show up. Our waiter forgot our bread and didn’t know we were missing anything when our order finally came. We went on a Thursday when they weren’t busy yet it took 45 mins for anyone to even notice we didn’t have bread and then it came out with dinner, which took over an hour. It was my husband birthday and once they finally came over to clear our plates and ask if we would like a box, another 20 mins went by before they brought desert then another 20 for the check. What could’ve been an hour and a half dinner took almost three hours. Thank god the food was good.
Ordered oysters. The first one was wonderful. I then got a "bad" one which spoiled the oyster experience for me. I had another good one and a bad one. I meant to mention it at the restaurant but forgot. CHECK OUT THOSE OYSTERS!
Nice atmosphere and service but need to improve the food. Was told the chef was correcting the previous mistakes and meat still didn’t come out the right temperature. At that price point there shouldn’t be multiple errors. Lots of better places to eat in the desert.
It’s an Ok Restaurant. The hotel is very beautiful. The food was good but nothing special. The service was pretty bad. The waitress was no where to be found, my hot water was never re-filled unless I asked for it. All and all pretty average.
We wanted to enjoy a evening out with our son and his fiancée when they came to visit and so I booked a table for Saturday evening. We booked for a table outside for 7:30. It was a beautiful warm calm evening. We were initially shown to a table inside. The patio was not fully occupied. When we told them we had reserved a patio table they took us to a table next to the inside wall which had a glass metal top and iron chairs. The table was wobbly. The diners at the table near us inside the restaurant were loud and and rude. There were other nicer tables near the fire table that were not occupied. We told our server about the wobbly table. When she came back to fix it she told us she was going to move us to a better table. We moved to a much nicer table and then enjoyed the ambience much more. It was just annoying that when we had reserved in advance by more a few days that they seemed to want to shove us in a corner at a table that was not very nice when there were better tables available. The patio was clearly not fully booked for other reservations. Our server was excellent. The food was good. I ordered the three course chef’s menu which was very good but but in general I felt that the food was overpriced.
We always eat here on our last night at the resort. We had an early reservation due to an early flight the next morning. The restaurant was not busy, yet the hostess was obviously inexperienced or just bad at her job. She took several phone calls while we were waiting and got flustered when the couple in front of us wanted to change their seating request. As my husband said, “I wonder what it is like when they are busy. Our waitress was overly attentive. It seemed as thought she was stopping by every three minutes to see how our first bite was etc. seems like some training in the dining area would be in order. The food was good, but not great. The whole resort seemed less spiffy and less well organized compared to the 12+ years we have been going there.
Coachella Fest is here
The hotel was full but the restaurant wasn’t as Coachella Fest was in town. We had Ahi from the chargrill seared rare with Indio sweet corn and Davis Bynum Pinot noir- perfection. Kimberly was our server and she was personal and professional. We had Bitter Italian after dinner drinks for desert- espresso, amaretto and vanilla ice cream made by Brian in the bar. Perfect April weather- It’s to live for.
