Loved the open air restaurant! The ahi tacos, mahi mahi sandwich and saimin were all fantastic.
What an amazing Thanksgiving dinner! The traditional Thanksgiving dinner was a huge hit with my family. My husband said it was the best Thanksgiving dinner he’s ever had. Top notch! So glad Monkeypod is back open. We went twice during our vacation and felt super safe. As always, the drinks and food are superb.
Delicious food & cocktails 😋
Kaanapali location was killer... Gorgeous ocean views, great open setting, wonderful all hands on deck service and fantastic very reasonably priced food.
Strongly recommend you enjoy the mai tai as well.
Great food and service. Live music was great.
So much fun. Great drinks. Food is really good. Great menu for kids. Entrees delicious. Get a table near the open area especially in the evenings.
I usually drink vodka sodas but the mai tais are to die for!! Especially the lilikoi foam 🤤
Had a reservation and noticed a table that was open oh which we wanted to sit. Told no can’t sit there because it was for a reservation. Told them , yah that’s what I have is a reservation !!! Don’t understand that logic !Too loud- could hardly hear each other in this very noisy restaurant.
Anniversary dinner. Fantastic experience! Would highly recommend.
It’s a nice addition to the Whalers Village for dining with a spectacular view of the infamous Ka’anapali sunset.
There was also live music which definitely enhanced the ambiance.
However, I don’t think I would dine here again but might come back just for the view and drinks.
First and foremost, The service was great! We were 1 hour early and they tried there best to get in sooner. Regardless, the wait was >1hr.
Dishes we ordered:
1. Fish tacos: not very flavorful, fish was dry
2. Lobster and fish pasta: fish was even dryer than tacos, at least the lobster was fresh
3. Saimin: flavorful and fresh noodles
4. Mixed green salad with beets: soaked with dressing
5. Kuala pork pizza: too salty, the dough was ok
6. Kids menu: saimin noodle was good, cheese pizza Dough was too burnt, cheeseburger and fries too dry
Mai tai was great
Margarita was refreshing and strong
No ka oi was on the sweet side but pretty good
Overall for the price, the food was not worth it. We ate at one of the local brewing company and pretty much had similar dishes but was much tastier and less pricey!
Not that it matters too much but the waitress never recognized that it was mother’s birthday even though we mentioned on open table that’s what we were celebrating.
Excellent service and good!
Good food, good service. Enjoyed the live music. A little wider range of options on the kids menu would be nice.
I had been to MP several months ago and
It was good, but it was even better. The Ahi Was fantastic and the service was fantastic
Chicken wings were boiled then burnt on top..white fleshy fat on bottom. Fish and chips not much better, chips old and retried and fish gooey. Overall enough to never want to go back.
Great location for a quick stop
Great service and food was stellar
Fabulous waitress. Fabulous food. A bit too loud for us but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was very informative and let us know that we still had time for a few purchases from happy hour menu. Will definitely come again!
We come here every year but won’t be going back. Food is very pricey for what one actually gets, they ran out of two dishes by the time we ordered in early evening, they refused to substitute things, and the noise level was so loud we couldn’t hear other talk (music + acoustics). We had a wonderful server but meh. Literally only spent $50 more the next night at a far superior restaurant - worth it.
My wife and I both got the special, center cut rib eye, with vegetables. The steak was well cooked but had no seasoning at all. There was a peppercorn sauce, but it didn’t go very far and was very mild other than the peppercorns themselves. The carrots were grilled very well and were delicious, though rather small. I asked for their recommendation for a Cabernet and wasn’t too pleased with it either. I was expecting a very high end meal, based on the location and the price. It seems to be a very popular destination, as it was extremely busy and highly rated. I made my reservation several weeks in advance. My wife and I were both pretty disappointed by the meal. The service and ambiance was excellent, but the meal we experienced was below average, though the deserts we had were fine. I have no idea if what we experienced was unusual or not. We probably won’t be dining there again.
Mai Tais were exceptional. Service was great!
Went for 5 pm and benefitted from happy hour prices on some appys which were mostly vegetarian. Had some delicious pizza and gnocchi.
The best mai tai I have ever had.
Our server was awesome! So polite, kind, funny and gave great recommendations. Super cool vibe. Get reservations ahead of time and hopefully you get seated with a view of the ocean. Live music is always happening.
Everything from food, service, and mai tais was outstanding.
The food was outstanding. Seriously try the deviled eggs with lobster and be sure to squeeze the lime on them! Out of this world amazing! Simply delectable! We also had the potstickers made of local shrimp and local mushrooms, spectacular! Our server, Justin, was incredible and made great recommendations, then he also snuck anniversary wishes into our to go bag! We will be back! We can't wait to try some of the menu items. The daily special fish was outstanding and the fish and lobster pasta was beyond delicious with hints of Polynesian flavors coupled with the classic Italian taste. Absolutely outstanding. We highly recommend this place.
Been here several times. Food was very good, kitchen fast and service very good. Highly recommend.
We are fortunate to visit Maui usually twice a year from the east coast. No trip would be complete without a number of Monkey Pod visits. We just love this place, esp for Happy Hour. The pumpkin ravioli is mind-blowing.
Ashley made our two dining experiences especially amazing. Thank you
We went a little ahead of our reservation, and they gave us a beeper to wait. Fine, but then we were sat out in the patio and never even saw the inside of the restaurant. Many walk ups waited and then got seats inside out of the wind and wet.
The patio area tables are very close together and every time a server, and even what I assume was one of the managers walked by they kicked my chair. They also asked my son to move his chair in more because as the server said, she needed more room to get to the table behind us. I don’t think this would have been requested of an adult.
The food was average at best. I’d had similar fish at other places in the area for a lot less.
We also asked the drink server for a straw, which sounds like an easy request since the bar was literally a foot behind us. The people next to us ordered and got their appetizer before she came back.
Also ordered a burger without the additional sauces and it came sans bun as well.
The server was pleasant but I’m assuming was very new. The table next to us were alerted to last call for happy hour...we were never even offered another drink, let alone at a special.
Very weird experience, and would recommend many restaurants before this one.
Food was just average, fries were slighly burnt and little tiny pieces. Pot stickers tasted just like the ones I get out of a bag. Mai Tai was good. Server was very good.
Always one of our favorites when we visit Maui. Fresh food and a fun casual atmosphere
Although we had been there once before with a better experience, this time was very disappointing, mainly because of an inept waiter. The menu seemed limited, but we didn’t realize until later the waiter did not offer us the nightly specials. When my husband ordered ha usual cocktail, the waiter flatly replied the bar didn’t have his choice of 3 different liquors, without offering to check with the bartender. It was packed, the music was poor and hard to hear. Not pleasant overall.
Food was excellent...stayed on Maui for 12 days went there 2x...will definitely highly recommend!!
We had a wonderful server Kate. She was great. Our food was yummy and we watched whales while we ate. Perfect dinner.
Lively restaurant set close to the water to give you the perfect vantage point for sunsets. We were treated to dinner and a show when a very playful pod of whales passed thru; it was amazing! Excellent service, our waitress was exceptional. Ahi Steak came highly recommended by a few people, can confirm it was
