Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Whalers Village
Jonathan was an awesome server. All the food was delicious. On the pricey side, but you’re paying for location, too. The corn chowder, fish and chips, pumpkin ravioli and fish tacos were divine! Go during happy hour because all the small plates are wonderful!!
Love this restaurant! The food is fresh and service is exceptional.
Excellent service, incredible food, outstanding service! Definitely get the potstickers, mahi mahi and noodles to die for. Out server was the best and staff went out of their way to get us the table we requested online. We're going to the Wailea location in a few days. A+++ Gourmet food at a great value. Wow
Best drinks anywhere in Maui. Had the deviled eggs and they were wonderful.
Son and I have come here a few times now. Travis our waiter has been amazing. Very friendly and helpful. He treats us like family and the amazing thing to me is he remembered our names even after our first visit. Food has always been on point and we have tried numerous things. We will definitely come here again our next time back to Ka’anapali.
A great addition to Whaler’s Village
The crafted drinks were great.
Service, food, and drinks were all outstanding. Totally enjoyable evening! Loved the live music too!
Overpriced mediocre food with absolutely rude hostess. God awful in every respect. I would not recommend this place to the donner party
Best Mai Tai and their other craft cocktails are the best we have ever had. The food was great.
Solid food from apps through desserts.
The food was over priced and bland
Lobster pizza was amazing. It had just the right amount of truffle oil and garlic. My water glass was never empty. I drink a lot of water, so that's important to me. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos.
Great fish and chips. Best on island. Pizza also very good.
We each had the chefs fresh fish special , Opakapaka with Cajun seasoning served with rice and a jicama lobster slaw and an amazing sauce. Absolutely delicious! We eat fish most every night when on Maui, and this was superb! We topped it off with the strawberry pie and that was also exceptional!! The drinks were very good too.
best mai tai, validated parking, awesome crew, live music, excellent food selection, we were seated right away
Best Mai Tai’s in Maui!
Great service. Wonderful food!! Staff is very helpful in making recommendations, advising which plates are good to share, and selecting wines. A perfect night!
Such a great meal and service was excellent. One of the best meals we had in Maui
Everything from staff to food was amazing!
Vacation - anniversary
This experience was underwhelming. Both my husband’s and my meal were overly salty. The service was good though.
Marginal food at best. The signature pies had no sugar and were awful. Won’t go back. Much better choices available.
Monkeypod is our first choice of places to go when in Maui! Can’t miss for food, drinks, atmosphere (in Whalers Village).
Always an awesome experience here. We come every 2-3 weeks and consistently have a great experience. Food and drinks are fantastic and the staff is warm, welcoming and truly represent aloha. Mahalo for treating us like ohana.
I have celiac and asked the waiter for options. I found she didn’t know what was gluten free or was able to make suggestions. I didn’t want to get sick so I didn’t risk eating there and left. I was told their wait staff was knowledgeable but did not find this to be accurate.
Monkey pod is known for mai tais And they are great. Lots of other items on drink menu as well. Lots of beer and a few other good cocktails. Food was excellent with fresh catch prepared well. One gripe from group was lack of creativity with sides. Veggies sort of whatever and rice just sort of there. Pizzas are good but limited offerings. They need a few more choices. Went two nights and pizza undercooked both nights. If you pay $20 for a smallish pizza it should be very good. They are too big for 1 and not big enough for 2. We would definitely go back and already recommend to people we have met
I had the mahi mahi burger. It was messy but delicious!
It was noisy, the service was sub par and the food just OK. If I’m going to pay $25 for fish tacos they should be outstanding. It was our anniversary. I had noted that to the host and in OpenTable app. All other restaurants we visited in Hawaii acknowledged with something. This restaurant didn’t even say Happy Anniversary. We won’t be visiting here again.
Phenomenal service and food. We went for happy hour so it was a great value!!!
Food was good. Service was terrible. I would not recommend this restaurant.
The servers, hostesses, food are all great as is the atmosphere. The lunchtime entertainment was way too loud!
While the location and service are great, the food wasn’t. My spouse was asked how she wanted her burger and asked for medium. It was well done and heavily salted. I ordered a fish sandwich which is what I always have when in Hawaii. The fish couldn’t have been three ounces and for the price fell far short in quantity or quality. The beer was ice cold, the wine good. I’d only go back for Happy Hour when the prices match the quality of the food. Overall, there are better choices to eat at in the area.
Brilliant as always! So happy to have a Monkey Pod in Lahaina!!
We were taken on time tho there were a lot of people. Very popular . Make reservations. Good fun place with good food
Saved the evening. We had originally planned to eat at Roy’s at the bar. We got there and it was closed for a private function. I got right on Open Table and got a reservation. We were there earlier in the week and certainly didn’t mind going back. Good food again and pie was delicious.
Great restaurant with very good food menu, excellent selection of drinks- particularly beers. Service was outstanding
Everything was great from service, setting and especially the food.
pot stickers were great to start with their famous mai tai
the fish entrees were excellent
a MUSt to go and enjoy on Maui
this was the Ka’anapali location
Consistently a great experience at Monkeypod in Kaanapali. We live locally and frequent Monkeypod every 2-3 weeks. The staff is always warm and welcoming. They remember who we are and know our preferred seating. They always accommodate our dietary restrictions without question and the food quality is outstanding. We love to go for the happy hour and end up staying even longer since we always enjoy our time there. This is an absolute must do if vacationing on Maui in Kaanapali. There’s also a Monkeypod in Wailea that’s just as good so if you’re staying on the south side you don’t have far to travel to enjoy it.
