We had a group of younger girls that were in the room next to us and they were having a great time! We stayed for our 16th wedding anniversary and everything was absolutely amazing! The whole place is rich with Texas history. Everything Is beautiful! From the crown molding to the tiles at the entrance. Breakfast and dinner at the Monarch was divine! The ribeye steak is definitely worth the money! 10 out of 10 recommend and will be coming back!

Food was fine. Service absolutely was not you would expect from a Bonvoy Autograph hotel. They were trying hard, but poorly trained. Drinks were late. The white wine suggested was hot. The fish was delicious. The ambiance was awkward.

Omg. This is my husband and i's favorite place in all of Galveston, Probably in all of Texas!! We noticed that the food was better than ever last night! We came Here on a quick trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had the best drinks, appetizers, Dinner and key lime Pie. The shrimp brochette were the best we've ever had! Crunchy and juicy, cheesy and flavorful work a bbq reduction! So good; the filets were cooked perfectly and tender, so juicy and tasteful!! The crab cakes were perfect and the key lime Pie was outstanding! Our server was as sweet as could be, the ambience was amazing and we will be back for every special occasion!! We got to meet the Chef, Chef Sean!! He is as nice as can be and wonderful! Thank you for a beautiful evening!

It was nice, but $89 and it’s a buffet. Yes, the food was good but I don’t think it’s worth $89 a person. We also had a bad altercation before leaving when a host accused my Hispanic mother of “not settling her bill” when it was me who paid for everyone. Instead of a polite encounter it was very rude and odd how it was handled for a high end establishment. It was something I’ve wanted to try but would not go back.

The experience was lacking and not worth the price per person. Rather than being in the actual restaurant, we (party of 2) were sat in a banquet room with many families toting small children. Further, the dress code was not enforced and there were several people wearing gym clothes or looked like they just woke up and walked down from their room. The food was decent, but nothing unique or special for a birthday couples brunch. Overall, the hotel is architecturally significant but there isn't much else positive to say.

Dining room very nice. Service by Amy was very good. They tried hard to find a bottle of wine we wanted. The entree of Almondine Fish was not as good as expected. Menu choices were limited. We did have a very good experience before dinner in the Founders Bar. Lois the Bartender was great. The drinks and appetizers were very good. Beautiful hotel and appreciated the valet parking.

Carved meat was tough. Other food areas were good. Disappointed with lack of adherence to dress code which was strictly spelled out on the website for patrons. $90 seemed a little high for the experience.
