About
The Restaurant is closed. We arrived to see a boarded up building.
The restaurant was closed!!! We were very disappointed to arrive there and it was not even open. Boarded up, etc.
Dope spot great vibes awesome bartenders DJ was okay! Beautiful women . People there are nice and respectful
Mole y Abuela is definitely drool-worthy. From delicious drinks to flavorful tapas and entrees and sweet tooth satisfying desserts, you want to order something for every course! The staff is super friendly and makes sure you’re well taken care of (thanks Isabel!). The ambience is modern and fun. A perfect place for date night or to catch up with friends. Going to Mole y Abuela is an event to look forward to all week!
Very nice roof top! Food was very good!
Some of the BEST empanadas I’ve ever had! Per usual, the food was on point and simply delicious.
Mixed drinks need some work. For $10, I got a glass full of ice cubes and simple syrup; too sweet!
If you have not been to MoleyAbuela you are missing out on of Tampa’s finest environments for delicious Spanish food and great music. The frozen margaritas on Cinco de Mayo and the delicious carne asada tacos were mouth watering. From presentation to delivery you will not be disappointed.
Great to be out after this ridiculous lockdown. I only wish that the servers weren't forced to wear masks. The people dining out prefer them off. If a table requests it on, have them wear it for that table. However, I doubt anyone cares. Scared people will be home in their bubble.
They were so accommodating. Atmosphere, food, drinks and service were so great!
Great for group sharing. Outstanding service and good value. Rooftop bar very cool.
Great! Amazing food and great ambiance
Our first and last time at Mole y Abuela. While it looked like a great place we were maybe 1 of 5 tables in the entire restaurant and we still waited over 45 mins for JUST drinks.
When we asked the waitress and hostess about the drinks they said they were backed up which was definitely a lie.
Food came not long after drinks finally arrived, the selection was descent but the food was sub par.
We ordered the nachos which is supposed to be with plantains and when we got them we didn’t have any. We asked the waitress which she proceeded to say it doesn’t come with them, we showed her the menu and she said “oh Im sorry let me go check in the kitchen” she then came back and simply said we ran out sorry.
Most expensive nachos at 12 dollars each for simply nachos and cheese.
Overall a very bad experience will not be returning.
Amazing food!! Will definitely come back.
We went there before a show at the Straz and our waitress was totally in the weeds. I tried to be patient and she was extremely nice but it was very difficult for her to give service because she was serving a 12 top and a 7 top and customers outside at the same time. She did the best she could but staffing was way too minimal. Food was good though.
Was great food was amazing service was excellent
Enjoyed the wide selection of foods and the presentation. Great place to meet friends and share tapas. Service was great as well. Would go there again.
First time here and food was great, waitress was great, but hostess was so-so.
The noise issue hasn’t changed from when this place was Fly Bar-get that under control and this place would be spot on.
My wife and I went to the restaurant for first time and we had a good time.
Worst service I have ever received at any restaurant. Reservation began at 7:30 pm. it took almost 20 minutes of sitting and waiting and asking before a server finally picked up our table and greeted us. Meals were not served until 9:00 pm. and 20 minutes apart from each other. The manager never made an appearance to apologize for delays but actively avoided tables asking to speak to him. Unfortunately the entire restaurant was having the same issue and the tables around us were receiving the same lack of service. We left very dissatisfied and very unimpressed.
Food was great but service was abysmal. Took forever to get our drinks, food, and bill.
The food is terrible. Don’t waste your money here.
Very disappointed. Our third meal here. Service was pleasant but slow and poorly organized. Food was sub par. I’ll go back for the bar but not the food.
Great restaurant, food choice excellent and the best service ever!! Highly recommend it!!
Friendly staff but -meals took nearly 30/40 minutes, desert was ordered but never delivered/ultimately we cancelled. Bill was rung up incorrectly w/several charges we did not recognize. Noise level was so loud coupled w/ loud music which made it extremely difficult to have a conversation without talking at the top of your lungs. Overall —I was not at all satisfied. I will never return.
Excellent food and service! Will be back next time I am in Tampa.
I would not recommend Mole y Abuela. The food was fine, but the service was awful. It was my birthday dinner and we had 9 people with us. It took around 40 minutes (I am not exaggerating) for us to get one drink. Literally everyone at the table could only get one or two drinks at most because the service was so slow. We also wanted to order more food, but decided not too because we would have been stock at the restaurant for another hour.
The ambiance was okay... The noise level was outrageous. We could not talk without yelling at each other. Also the hostess were very rude and unwelcoming.
First and last.
We ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers none of which wow’d me. It’s a bit pricey with no wow factor.
We dined on terrace before a show at the Straz. Service was attentive. Menu is imaginative with adequate variety for most tastes. Reasonable portion sizes. Every dish (5 different choices) we tried was unique in flavor and delicious with only one exception and that was because it was simply a very standard version of that dish. Definitely will return.
This was our first time and it was FANTASTIC. Absolutely everything we ordered was amazing. We had the croquettes, papas bravas, the cheese plate, the chicken empanadas, and the chicharrones platter. The drinks were great. The service was wonderful. We honestly can't wait to go back.
Good service from our waiter, no complaints but unfortunately we can't say the same about the food and ambiance. At an 8:30pm dinner reservation on a Friday night this restaurant was running out of chicken and Pork carnitas from their menu...casually the two choices we have made...unacceptable considering there aren't too many other options on their entrees menu. On the other side, we went up to rooftop after dinner and again on a Friday night there was NO music?! Are we in a funeral or went out on a Friday night in Downtown Tampa??....too much to learn about for the management of Mole y Abuela, we will not get back, there are certainly lots of better options in Tampa...
This place was excellent. One of the best places we have been in the Tampa area. We got there right at open on a weekday so it wasnt too busy. Food was great and the staff was very friendly. We had a feisty toddler with us and they were very accommodating. We will definitely be back.
We came late at night and the hotel seemed to be closed. We called to ask about our reservation and the call got dropped. We decided to go home and the manager called back quickly to tell
Is they could seat us by the bar. The reduced menu available was awesome. Nicole rocked and saved our night.
We had the strawberry surprise, white sangria, corn, meatballs, shrimp escabeche, chicken empanadas, papas bravas, and churros —which were all very good. Service was also good. The downsides were the pineapple confit (that was part of the flan) which was really just cut up pineapple. The iberico de bellota was very underwhelming and much too pricey at $26 for 4 pieces of the ham and 4 pieces of very chewy bread. They can also improve the acoustics of the space since it was noisy.
Service was extremely slow. Place was extremely loud (but not busy). Had to yell to speak with person next to me. Food was ok but definitely not worth the price.
The food was not good and sad tovday fabios other restaurants we were excited to try this one. The carnitas was just flat out gross and the scallops were fishy, I get it they're scallops but these were just oddly super fishy.
We had a great dinner at Mole Y Abuela. Excellent service. Ropa Vieja was awesome. The chef came to check on us which was much appreciated and a really nice touch. We will be back!
Andrea and luis were amazing to interact with. Delicious tapas style food. Can’t wait to return and try more of the menu.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Mole y Abuela and it was fantastic. The service was excellent! They greeted us with a champagne toast. The food was quite yummy, small portions but great for sharing lots of choices. We finished off our evening with flourless chocolate cake that was incredible. I highly recommend.
Pleasant atmosphere on a busy downtown Saturday Good tapas and service
Double brunch date on the rooftop was perfect and deliciousssss!!!
