Food was very good. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. Prices average. Overall my wife and I enjoyed our date.
Thought the Vegetables were salty.
SLOW TO GET MAIN MEAL AND THE STUFF FLOUNDER I HAD WAS COLD IN THE BOTTOM MIDDLE
Made my reservation through the app & listed my special request, as we arrived, we were greeted promptly & welcomed to the restaurant. My special request were noted & met w/ out question. Our server Kyle was excellent, knowledgeable & answered all of our questions promptly. He made great preparation suggestions. He was funny, friendly & really seemed to enjoy his job. Our food was delicious & served promptly. We will definitely be back!
Really great service but the food reminded me of a boil a bag restaurant chain.
Amazing food and service. We had an earlier reservation so it was quiet and not busy.
We went there to celebrate the new year with our kids and it was bad. We were seated promptly but it took 20 minutes for the server to come greet us and after being there for 40 minutes we only had waters at our table. We noticed the server going to other tables multiple times but wouldn’t come to ours. He didn’t even come try to take our dinner order and our appetizer were still nowhere in sight. At this point we had it and decided we weren’t going to get food for a really long time and left.
Kitchen list our order. Dessert was forgotten. Overall a bad experience
Over priced with none of the fish we ordered in stock. Waiter could not get the order correct and food was sub par.
The food was good. The service was good. We'll be back for dinner again.
We were there for New Years Eve. While the restaurant was busy, the kitchen appeared to be keeping up with orders. Our waiter was slow and not attentive. We had to ask for bread after it was offered and our salads/soup were delivered. We also had to ask for more water after our glasses were empty. Food was average. For the money, I would recommend going to Oyster Catchers.
Food was great, service was just ok!
I was very disappointed this visit - so much so that we left before we ordered food.
They had advertised Impossible Burger, but they were not serving it. This left very few options for vegan/vegetarian.
Plus, there was a screaming kid that would just not be quiet and no one did anything about it.
An all around bad experience...
New Years Eve
took a look time to get food. When I got my meal it wasn't hot. I told the server, and he said ok. Then walked away. A few minutes later he came back and said can I do anything else for you. I had already eaten half of my cold meal, and said you can take it off it off my bill. The manager then came by, and apologized and offered to make another meal. At that point I really didn't want another meal. I was very disappointed in the service. We've dined at Mitchells on many occasions, and were looking forward to a nice dinner.
We came on Sunday and brunch was offered in addition to the lunch menu. We opted for lunch. It was a great meal. The bacon wrapped shrimp were amazing. The fisherman’s fry was barely breaded and fried without any greasiness. You got all of the flavor of the shrimp, scallops, and cod. Chris’ service was exceptional. It was a truly great meal.
The restaurant wasn’t very busy but yet we had to wait 20 minutes to get a server and this was after asking for a server. We overheard the table beside us ask for a server as well. The management was apologetic and took our order but the food had no love in it. The lobster was rather dry and shriveled up and the stuffing fell apart. The asparagus looked like it came from a frozen bag. The potatoes were ok. The raw oysters were good. Others got the bourbon salmon. Again dry, shriveled up and piled on vegetables that were bleak. It wasn’t that there was necessarily anything wrong they just were over cooked or just old the plates had no love and you could tell it. For that price I expect better. I get it - it’s after Christmas everyone is tired but this is the only time of year I have to go out with friends and family and when we go to a overpriced seafood restaurant it should be delicious and we should leave wanting to come back. I won’t go back. I would avoid the other locations because of the rather bleak experience. It was overall - “meh”.
Highly recommend that you should dine here. We were quickly seated for our reservation. Excellent service, food & atmosphere. Our waitperson Chris was outstanding, & he took great care of us with his menu knowledge, and very attentive service. Dining decor is casually elegant, with wide range of menu choices. Our entrees of crab stuffed flounder and mani mahi were superbly prepared and seasoned...delicious. As we ended our meal & departed, my lady & I both agreed that we would be back very, very soon!
Excellent repas avec un très bon service
Les poissons étaient frais et parfaitement apprêtés
Apparently we hit them at the wrong time (7:00pm). Almost 15 minutes before server came to table. No clean glasses for water (35 minutes to get water). 25 minutes to get a glass of wine. 35 minutes for a mixed drink and a Coke. Poor (no) communication from Server about these problems except low water glasses were running behind. No bread for table for 40 minutes. We didn’t know what the plates we for until he brought bread out about 5 minutes before the food came.
The main food and vegetables were good in general. Frankly, the jambalaya was a poor after-thought with the fish. Our fish was switched on the two plates we received.
The server seemed a bit overwhelmed. Had he communicated the problems initially to let us know there were issues, the experience would likely have been better.
The server redeemed himself as we were Landry members and found we had a $25 credit coming to us. That made the bill a bit more reasonable.
Christmas dinner was a struggle for this location. I am sure folks called out. Communication is king and would have been more pleasant had we understood sooner about the problems.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. My only criticism is that they stuffed so many tables in that the seating was very tight.
They started out well with gumbo for me and chowder for dining partner, but from there it was just OK> My flounder stuffed with crab wasn't even room temp and the stuffing was cool. He ordered a pasta bowl, which he described as OK> Filled the square, unlikely to go back.
I was not overly impressed. Some dishes were well prepared and a joy to eat, but others were overcooked and dry with little flavor. Just a mixed bag. I expected better for the prices that were charged.
The food presentation was below average. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but we were very disappointed from start to finish. Restaurant was half empty at 7:30 on a Saturday night. We ordered the charbroiled oysters which were bland. The bread served with it was charred black in places. The entrees were not much better. The shrimp triple play was lack luster as well as the stuffed sea bass. I would not recommend if you looking for fine dining. It’s far from it.
Overall experience was good. My mom took me for my birthday. This was her first time visiting. The waiter forgot to bring bread and butter to the table and my mother noticed it. That was the only error.
After game dinner was nice. Our waiter Kyle was amazing.
Matt and Alfredo were great. They provided excellent service and answered any questions we had.
It was a great time. We enjoyed ourself
We enjoyed our final night in Tampa at Mitchell’s and had a great meal. We didn’t realize it was a Landry’s restaurant but typical of others we’ve dined at, it was a tremendous experience.
Mitchell’s is a great place to have seafood. It was our first time dinning experience with them. I ordered a combination platter that had shrimp, crab cake and salmon served with a type of creole rice. The star of the plate was the perfectly cooked salmon. My husband ordered the sea bass and it was delicious. Overall great restaurant but I would not recommend it for a birthday dinner. Never approve of a lot of hoopla in a restaurant however, when you choose to go on your birthday it would be nice for it to be acknowledged in some way.
We were there on a Sunday afternoon and had the place nearly to ourselves. Great service. I had the lunch pack I think it’s called. A great value. Not the best fish in my fish taco. It was good though. And the house salad is delicious!! The best dressing I’ve ever had. We will go back. My mom has a beautiful piece of salmon and my sister had the tuna bowl. It was all delicious.
Food was very disappointing compared to Jacksonville location.
We made reservations to celebrate my husband's birthday. It looked great, but we had to wait pretty long to receive service. Then we waited a long time for the waiter to come back, he kept making mistakes or forgetting. The seafood was not fresh, and since it was a seafood market, we thought it would be. Everything was tough and overcooked. Even the veggies. They did not even mention that it was my husband's Birthday.
Always consistently good. A few things on the menu are great, including the Sea Bass - I highly recommend it done Shanghai style - order the sauce on the side, though, as it's very salty and they sometimes drown the dish in the salty sauce!
Food was great! Unfortunately we were seated next to a loud office party.
This was our 2nd Thanksgiving at Mitchell's Fish Market. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal & our Server was WONDERFUL - Dennis. We had drinks, appetizers, meals for 6, & dessert.
We will be back. Our entire experience was enjoyable for each of our guests. The customer service was warm & friendly. At one point someone mentioned, "This is the best Calamari I've ever had." Our Caribbean guest was pleased with her Caribbean Salmon.
Thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the rest of your Holidays.
My latest visit to Mitchell's was quite good. In the past, I found the preparation of the food to be inconsistent, so I didn't return often. Recently, however, the dishes have been very well prepared and was please that the chef came to our table. I love the pecan crusted trout, as well as the mussels.
For $160 for 3 people
Food was good. Steak was overcooked.
Service was below average
