We have been going to Mille Fleurs since close to its beginning: 30+ years. We always thought it to be excellent, innovating and interesting. We know that Mille Fleurs changed the original chef last year, with a chef from its sister restaurant Mister A’s and things were still OK. The sweetbread dish was fantastic. Mille Fleurs has again a new chef. We did not see any improvement if not more of a letdown. The original chef was let go because he was not innovative enough and did not want to change the menu. But the lobster bisque, lobster salad, traditional steaks and wiener schnitzel are still on the menu. We thought the lobster salad had deteriorated in its presentation: a mount of lettuce with lobster and mango strewed over it. We had the duck breast, although promised medium-rare was medium and just on top of black rice, rather boring. The rest of the menu is still as predictable as before. So far nothing exciting or innovating. We’ll wait a while to see how Mille Fleurs evolves.

We went there last night Tuesday read about it in a guidebook is the best in the area I do have to say I was slightly disappointed in the weiner schnitzel. The serving plate was cold and it came out lukewarm they immediately corrected that however I thought breading was rather heavy and there was not a lightness to the entree that I've had another weiner schnitzels.

I had a lunch special with 3 course. The food was very good except that my scallops were very very salty. I believe so for even an average person's taste . There are many people who are watching salt level, so if moderately salted with an salt bottle on the table to use, that would be better. I had to drink a lot of water on the way home and at home until late night. The salad was very nicely low salt & vinegar oil taste, therefore I wonder why the main food had to be so high in salt. I almost called the attention of waiter/manager, however, I did not as I was with my friend and did not interfere our conversation.

This is a great restaurant To have a high quality meal. The location is calm and charming both inside or the patio. Service is exceptional. Finally, the food is of the highest quality and one of the best wine lists I have ever seen. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion,

It was right after the Valentine day and the restaurant was not organized.
There were a lot of dishes in the menu which they could not serve but not removed form the menu.
My wife ordered duck breast but she got the leg of the duck.
These are not forgiven in the restaurant of this level.
I got the regular menu, lobster salad and Wiener schnitzel but the taste was not as impressive as before.
The service was good except for the wrong menu.
We were very disappointed as Mille Fleurs has been our favorite and has always satisfied our expectations since 1986 until last time.

We’ve eaten here many times, and have always enjoyed it. But, for Valentine’s Day, it was a flop. $145/per person for 3 small courses and a dessert. The food was not the typical delicious Milles Fleurs fare, it lacked seasoning and panache. The crab starter and lobster bisque were the two dishes that were tasty. For the price, we only received about 4 oz of beef for the main course. We had a later reservation, so perhaps they were running low on portions. And the staff was friendly but we received very little attention; they seemed understaffed. We will visit again, but not on a a holiday such as this. Sadly, disappointed this time around.

Maybe it was because we were there on Valentine’s Day, but table service was not at its best. Offering on the set menu ($150 per person sans drinks) were well prepared but nothing extraordinary.

Very attentive waiter and maitre d, not overly. Just right. Foodwas well prepared, hot and visually tempting.
My pork chop was cooked exactly to my desire, as asked for. Little noisy especially for a week night. Might be people trying to impress themselves or somebody.
Very nice experience as compared to numerous European Micheline experiences.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience. This was our fist time there for my husband's birthday. We've been to most of the upscale restaurants in San Diego, and quite a few all over the world. With all the promotion and history of Mille Fleurs, the food was mediocre. We certainly weren't wowed by the taste or thought any item was out of the ordinary. The corkage fee at $40 is one of the highest we have ever had; our table unfortunately was located diagonally across from the kitchen entry, and it was quite frenetic with staff running back and forth - truthfully, this is a very unpleasant spot to have a table. Since we had not been there before, we weren't sure if the table would be okay, but after a a half hour, we should have asked to move - there were other tables available that would have been quieter. At this time, we aren't sure if we would return anytime soon. Maybe down the road, we will try the restaurant one more time.

Lovely meal experience. Can do a chef inspired pre- fixed meal or order a la carte. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Upscale experience without the stuffy attitude. Actually the service is quite friendly!

The maitre d and all servers and bus boys all treated us like royalty. The food was prepared perfectly and served hot and stayed warm throughout the meal. It was a bit pricey but they deserved to command that price tag in all respects. As Arnold said, “I’ll be back”

1/2/20 — Great overall experience. I hadn’t been there for 25 years. It was wonderful then and nothing has changed. Elegant ambiance, excellent and interesting menu, great service. Afterward we went to the bar and sat around the piano with two other couples, and had a very fun time. Not inexpensive but worth it. What more could you ask for?

This is such a wonderful restaurant with fantastic food and service. What a pleasure to dine with no music and have friendly and experienced waiters who know their food and wine. Highly recommended.

Started in the lounge with a couple of handcrafted cocktails. Once we were ready to be seated the bartender offered to bring our drinks to the table, always love this service. We had questions before we decided and they were answered with casual ease. Entrees were served at the perfect temperature and our after lunch cappuccino was perfectly prepared and full of warm flavor.

Everything was wonderful! We shared our exquisite experience with a couple that had never been to this local neighborhood restaurant & they loved it.
The only odd thing was that when we arrived, the hostess had us wait a good 6-7 minutes while they (hostess & maitrede) seated a couple that walked in AFTER us. Then, after waiting this 6-7 minutes, she takes us to our table where our friends were already seated! How awkward- we waited out front, our friends waited at our table & all that time, we could’ve been seated together. Very strange & not professional.

We dined in Fireplace room and had a great time. Bruno was our waiter, and was fantastic. Had Seabass and vegetarian plate. Both great!
