Wonderful! Great food and ambiance. The bar afterwards was great for drinks and the piano playing.
As usual Mille Fleurs provided an exceptional dining experience. The food and service was excellent. My swordfish was as good as I have ever eaten.
A little pretentious, but generally good food and service.
Terrific food, great service, great cocktails. Beautiful and charming restaurant that is quiet and refined!
One of our favorite places in the area.
There are not too many times you go out to dinner and everything goes pretty perfect! Well, this particular dinner at Mille Fleurs was wonderful! From the moment we arrived we were greeted promptly and brought to the exact table requested. Amazing! The service was great from the start with wonderful recommendations for wine, food and in general. Everyone on staff was very attentive. The food went beyond our expectations and seriously not one complaint at all. We actually questioned why we do not dine here more often than we do? LOL! Mille Fleurs is the place for that special occasion, a business meal or just plain wish to have a great meal, good service and ambiance. You cannot lose!
Mille Fleurs continues to be at the top of our list for places to go for a date night or a family celebration. The chef is superb, the pastry chef never fails to please..she is AWESOME actually, the service is quiet, efficient, polite and the food is always tasty!
Been coming for years. Always amazing service food and wine. Patio dining is a treasure.
As with every visit the food was outstanding, ambience of the dining area was quiet so you could have a good conversation without trying to talk over the noise, as in far too many restaurants. Wine selection is fantastic. Service was not up to the very high standards of previous visits. Was surprised that dishes were left on the table a lot longer then one would expect after we had finished with them. Regardless, all of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We always enjoy coming to Mille Fleurs.
Just the best restaurant in Southern California. Food, service and ambiance all come together to make dining a unique experience.
We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful evening. Service was good and the food was delicious. It was a “relaxed” place so don’t go if you’re in a hurry.
Staff was very cordial and lots of fun. Food was excellent. Very nice ambiance. Hard to believe such a fine restaurant exists in a small town like Rancho Santa Fe.
Lobster salad had cold, tough pieces of lobster, salmon entree was small bits wrapped in tasteless, sushi like leaves, coffee arrived luke warm.
Ambiance was good after a large birthday party moved inside.
Fantastic meal and service for our 50th Anniversary.
Expensive, but worth it!
Nice patio setting turned awful since they allow cigar smokers, in this case 8 of them to smoke! Very slow service and just ok food. This place is past it's prime. Other French restaurants are more authentic and better quality.
Mille Fleur never disappoints. The lobster salad was fresh and sweet. The duck breast cooked to perfection was
delicious and the Sole Munier was divine.
The pastry chefs creations were fabulous as well.
And the chef came out to speak with us a few times more ch to our delight.
Thank being said - visually the rooms need more color. The Guy Buffet pictures on a few of the walls were great and of course provide a bit of humor. But the rooms just seem bare.
I felt that the outdoor patio could really use a profusion of colorful flowers to make the area more gay and magic.
We will of course be back. The food is glorious and the service always attentive.
It’s comforting to know that Mille Fleur is still here serving
scrumptious French food.
Mille Fleurs is one of The Most Elegant restaurants in San Diego County. Everything--the service, the decor, the offerings and the prices! are on a par with that: Excellence. A rare treat in these days of ubiquitous menus and service.
Consistently high quality food. The service is excellent in that French melodramatic sort of way. Bruno is a trip - he’s worth the price of admission. A fun place to enjoy an evening out.
It's not what it used to be.For a restaurant of this caliber, the food is just average, service is ok and for the quality of the food, I think is overpriced.
We were celebrating a birthday with friends from out of town. This was my second visit and, as I was not very impressed with the service on my first visit I wasn't too thrilled about the choice. I am happy to say that this was a totally different experience and I will definitely return.
The best French (and German) food in San Diego County, with superb service and a wonderful wine list.
Nice Mother’s Day wonderful dinner
our special place for our anniversary — ever year. love it
We were staying at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. A two minute walk. Outstanding service and food! An excellent wine list.
I would highly recommend it.
A bit pricey but that is to be expected. We had a fantastic time.
Never fails to amaze me on whatever night of the week I go the food and service is always tops!
Always wonderful. Great food, service and quiet. A gem in RSF!
Nice, quiet restaurant. Fair selection on the menu. Not a huge wine list but good selection and reasonably priced. Great bread basket.
The halibut was inconsistent. Part over cooked. Part under cooked. Absolutely no flavor. For the price it was a major disappointment.
Great all around. Food was interesting and delicious. The service was incredible. Great cocktails even.
Mille Fleurs deserves more than 5 Stars. It's simply amazing that a resaurant that has been open for 27 years can be so good time after time. The longevity and excellence of the chef, Martin Woesle, who has been in charge since the opening, and the very professional service staff, especially Marco and Bruno, are also remarkable. Bertrand Hug deserves the reputation he has as San Diego's greatest restrauteur. He is obviously also a wonderful employer who has earned the loyalty of his employees.
Went to Mille Fleur a couple of times a long time ago when we lived close by. Old friends came down and remembered a good meal we had there together. We went together for a 7pm reservation. Still seemed like the same place, very elegant and proper.
Three of us ordered the halibut. After about 5-10 minutes, waitress came back and said they were out of halibut!!! At 7 PM! Wine list is out of this world pricey, highest I have ever seen for a bottle of wine. Service was excellent, but they really need to get their act together on the menu if they want to charge those prices.
As usual the food was amazing and our waitress was also very very attentive and was able to answer all questions we had
Superb in every way. One of the rare high end restaurants that merits the somewhat costly menu. We always return for Valentines Day and our Anniversary (plus a few other times when we just want to celebrated with good friends.)
Easter lunch was amazing and will definitely go back.
Very lovely place, food was very good. We came with an infant & they accommodated us with a chair to hold the car seat. I was somewhat surprised that they did not have any sort of high chair. Next time we know to bring our own baby set up. Will recommend & be back
The food was delicious and creative!
It was nice to have excellent service from all of the waiters. The ambiance was nice, quiet conversations going on at all of the tables. Menu was good. Nice to have the piano bar at a distance from the dining. We had the venison and one of our guests had the fish. Excellent.
We will return.
I went to this restaurant about 15 years ago and had an incredible experience. Thats why I was so happy to see that it had maintained its reputation as one of the best restaurants in North County. Unfortunately that was not our experience, as the entire meal was uninspired.
Our waiter was fair, the food was not well described on the menu, and the entrees were just average. The salad dressing and the couscous was completely tasteless, as were the potatoes. The John Dory was bland, while the lamb was at least reasonable.
Perhaps we got them on a bad night, but there are many better restaurants in North county at this time. Hopefully they will reassess their operation and either improve or make significant changes.
The food is always expertly prepared and our waiter Bruno is a delight! We love coming back year after year!
