I had a disappointing Father’s Day experience. Despite making a reservation and selecting a standard table, we waited almost an hour to be seated and were offered a high-top table, which I hadn’t chosen. Once seated, it took nearly 20 minutes for the server to take our order, and over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. I was dining with my baby, who was hungry, and I specifically asked for her food to be prioritized — but it came out with the rest of the meals. We mentioned we were celebrating Father’s Day, yet the service didn’t reflect that. My dad ordered a beer toward the end, but it never arrived. To top it off, my dad and husband ordered the lobster, shrimp, and steak fajitas, and both said the lobster lacked flavor — only the shrimp was good.

This is the second time I’ve gone to Mexican Sugar and I will say my second time wasn’t as amazing as the first. I had never been during brunch, so I’m not sure if that’s the difference but I will say the first time I went it was much busier and we received amazing service. Our waiter was good, but not amazing and the food was tasty, but two of our dishes came out incorrectly and the manager offered to come out and fix it, but it took about an hour. Half of the table was completed with their meal while the other half was just receiving their food (because it was made incorrectly the first time, although it had been communicated to the server) Francisco came out and offered to compensate part of the bill when we got the bill the items were still on there. When we pointed it out, the server only took off one of the two items still so I just paid it because we had been there long enough. Unfortunate because I know my first time was absolutely amazing and the food is delicious but maybe we will just stay away from him holidays. (maybe it brings a different kind of crowd and stress to the waiters)

We were a party of 7 that was very excited to have a great Father's Day brunch. The coffee although in a personal brewed pot was mildly warm. The food order had a lot of problems: 1- they brought one of the dishes ordered nearly 1 minute after we placed the order and it was supposed to be Barbacoa but it was brisket. The rest of the meals arrived 20 minutes later which would have meant that one. person in our party would have eaten by themself; 2 - One of the orders was incorrect as far as leaving certain sauces out and had to be sent back; 3 - everyone agreed that their food was barely warm. The waiters did their best to assist us with the issues but the kitchen seemed to have a mind of it's own. Because we all had to. eat at different times due to sending back 2 order made the experience less than acceptable. We will probably never go back again.

We we first seated on the second floor in a corner table and I was immediately had several drops of water fall on me. My husband had to get up to inform the staff. We were then moved to another table. We got out first round of drinks, but it seemed like any time after we put another order in it took forever to either order because our waiter wasn’t available or the bar was backed up and our drinks didn’t come promptly. The drinks we just ok, nothing to brag on in my opinion! There are numerous other amazing restaurants to get better drinks. The food was just ok, I had higher expectations with this being the same company as Haywire. The prices are too high for the lack of quality for both the food and drinks. Our food was never truly hot out of the kitchen and our dessert (churros) look more like smooshed donuts. Sad to say I will not be back to Mexican Sugar!We were initially seated on the second floor at a corner table, but I was immediately dripped on by water from above. My husband had to get up to notify the staff, and we were moved to another table. While we received our first round of drinks fairly quickly, the service afterward was noticeably slow. It often took a long time to place additional orders, either because our server was unavailable or the bar was backed up. The drinks were just okay—nothing memorable—and considering the many great spots in the area, there are definitely better places for quality cocktails. The food was also underwhelming, especially given our higher expectations knowing this is from the same restaurant group as Haywire. We love Haywire, so we came in really hoping for a similar level of quality and experience. There were numerous times we asked for chips after our queso and guacamole were brought out, but we never received any. It was frustrating to have the dips on the table and nothing to eat them with. On top of that, none of our food came out truly hot, and the dessert (churros) looked more like smooshed donuts than the cris

Friendly staff but very slow service. Brought the wrong drink, silverware was dirty, and the mussels were fishy smelling and gritty! Yuk!

Arriving and getting seated was disorganized and complicated despite having a reservation. Our server was not attentive. The food wasn’t bad, but not spectacular. Margaritas were ordinary. I think better service could have made up for the food/drink quality, but the overall experience was just not remarkable.
