Excellent food, and service - but you need to adress and do sometihning about the acustics. It was a nightmare even to talk across the table. Some sound reduction plates on the wall or like will make wonders.
First - Don’t arrive early and if you do don’t expect to be seated at your reservation time - they’ll seat you when they are ready for you - no matter how many empty tables you see as you wait - expect - although well intended - just plain careless service missteps - especially from the back up crew / food runners - food was good not great but at least value priced…
Great place!!! Service and food was excellent!!! Fun place to celebrate a birthday with the cotton candy and sparklers!!!
Everything was delectable. A wide choice of different flavors. Superior service.
Food was delicious
Incredible food! Exceptional service! And a beautifully designed restaurant. It's everything you could want in a restaurant!
Meril is one of the most popular restaurants in New Orleans for several reasons. There is a wide variety of flavors across the menu and every dish is expertly prepared. The service is smooth and the prices make it one of the best values in the city. But the key is the sharing concept that makes eating there so much fun. I went with three people and we had eleven different dishes all of which we shared. It is a wonderful way to connect and makes the meal a special one.
The food was amazing. The service made you feel so welcome. Definitely a 5 star experience.
Our server was very friendly and attentive, but the wait was very long. My fries were cold when they came out and they brought all of our entrees out staggered. I ordered my burger medium and it came out well done. The ambiance was nice, but for the price I wouldn’t return. The food was more representative of a chain.
Food was overall overpriced, but quality. Dishes were original and the beet cured salmon was quite inventive. Nice work chef!
At a business conference in New Orleans. As a solo patron, I was given a counter seat facing the kitchen. Quite a show! The food was excellent. I opted for the daily Gumbo to start along with the upside down cornbread and the Thai spring rolls…. Great choices! I chose the Bulgarian shorts ribs as an entree and they were sweet and succulent. Unfortunately, I did not save room for the banana pudding layer cake which I was looking forward to. The guest next to me had one and it looked scrumptious.
Allen and Kevin were so in tuned to our needs at the table. We didn’t have to ask for anything. Allen gave us excellent recommendations on the food and drinks. Food came out so fast and was delicious. Will definitely return.
We came for my wife’s birthday and we were not disappointed, the service and food was spectacular.
We sat outside, we’re very cold and service was very slow. She apologized often but that did not make up for poor experience -this was my 3rd time at Meril I loved it each other time
Excellent food and service!
The food was underwhelming. In the past we’ve eaten at Emerils and enjoyed it every time. So we looked forward to trying Meril. We were seated in the bar area which doesn’t have a dedicated wait staff. So the bartenders pinch hit taking turns on the tables. Service was uneven and slow. Trued 4 small plates. All lacking flavor. Made the mistake of ordering the banana cream pie for desert. Delicious at Emerils, here it was a glob of a mess. So disappointed and disgusted spending so much money go a unsatisfying dinner.
Multiple visits before and nothings changed here, thank goodness. Excellent food as always with interesting preparation and just plain delicious results. Service was a little slower than usual as is not uncommon these days, but all of the wait staff was friendly and competent, just a little overworked. Half chicken with lemon sauce and pineapple upside down cornbread were excellent.
Our 45th Anniversary. We enjoy Meril’s for being able to share multiple small plates. Tried the Cobie fish. It was fabulous! You gotta order it. A few tables were surprised with cotton candy with a small shooting sparkler that was a fabulous touch to the occasion of any age.
Our bartender, Texas, made it a happy experience. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, while the service was great the food was not. Both of our dishes primarily tasted of greasy butter, and my husband kept picking crab shells out of his pasta. Our drinks (which we ordered first) came after we’d finished all of our food. Through all this I will say the service was great and our waitress was good, but the experience was disappointing.
Amazing!!! The food was incredible, the ambiance was great as well
Great quality (as always) but they were out of several items at 7:30pm.
When we arrived we were informed they were out of 4 main dishes, no french fries, no biscuits. We were left with pizza & wings, which were mediocre.
There was a lot of items that were sold out. what made it more annoying is we were not told about all of them until after we ordered . For 1 item we ordered for appetizers we were not told they were sold out of it until after our dinner came and we asked where the food was.
I also had listed on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and dinner the dinner there was no acknowledgement of that and we didnt get the celebratory cotton candy.
It took a lot longer than normal to get our drinks and food. We also got the appetizer well before our drink which i thought was a little weird. I was surprised by this since there were a ton of waitress walking around and our table had 2 but we barely saw them.
Main course portions tasted great but were appetizer size.
Server was inattentive, half the menu was out of stock. The food that we were actually able to get was just okay, nothing special.
Disappointed, brought a friend from out of state here and among several things that went wrong one of them was the order. Ordered the special flatbread for the day and another menu flatbread, they brought 2 of the special out and I asked that they bring the one that I ordered and the waiter said they couldnt do that and I said well I'll keep the 2nd (errant)one if you comp it because I didnt want that one and he said 'I can bring you some peppers to put on it' since the other one I ordered according to him was the same except it had peppers. I was shocked that a restaurant like Meril would attempt to do such a thing Not what is expected from this restaurant and my friend even commented that this isnt a place he would want to come back to.
Great service! Food was amazing!
Came out to spend time in city and to eat at Meril. Had enjoyable time eating and watching the Saints game.
Our server was absolutely horrendous. We were being rushed and obliged since we sat down later in the night. However, we kept having to track him down to get our drink orders and service in. He was very rude and did not want to be there. Chicken was very salty but the rest of the apps and entrees were very good.
Prices were high for what you got. Server was rude and dismissive of one member of the group with celiac. Very few gluten free options. Probably will not return.
Fantastic meal at Meril. Great service, great bar and truly excellent food. Anytime in New Orleans, this is a must visit
Everything was amazing and delicious, service was excellent
What a pleasant surprise this was! I had the gnudi with delicata squash and it was to die for! My husband got the short ribs and seemed to really enjoy them as well. We split the beet salad with WHIPPED GOAT CHEESE. It was so good and then the pecan blonde to round out the meal. Everything was fantastic.
Absolutely incredible experience from top to bottom. You simply MUST go.
There is absolutely nothing we have had on our many visits that we didn't love. The food is delish, the staff attentive and the atmosphere is always fun!
Halloween brunch. The staff were dressed in costume which made it a festive atmosphere. Great food. Great servers. Great atmosphere.
We were two parties of 6 and called several days ahead requesting to be seated next to each other. We arrived when the restaurant opened at 11am. We were seated with two tables between us. Across the aisle were two empty tables of six. The hostess seemed to enjoy telling me when I arrived that “you aren’t seated together” and abruptly turned her back.
Our service was great and the food was good.
We enjoyed our first
Fabulous all around!!!
