The food was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and co workers.
First time back since it reopened. Happy to find same great chef...
New menu is a blend of delicious seafood & "comfort food."
Lot's more dishes to try. "Mercy" Me....We'll be back.
Ask for Rebekah to be your server....she's great!
We loved it! Yummy, interesting food and really neat ambience. Perfect for before or after theater.
Half price wines were awesome. Food fantastic! Loved meeting the chef
We enjoyed dinner here before a show at the Orpheum. Great service from Chris. They recently introduced a 1/2-off wine list with some great values. Food was all very good, and my husband especially appreciated the thoughtful vegetable preparations. Only small complaint is that things rolled out a bit quickly considering we had alloted 2 hours for dinner, but minor quibble. Recommend the salmon entree.
We visited the Mercy Restaurant before a play at the Orpheum. We had eggs Benedict with a small green salad. Eggs were done perfectly!! Love this restaurant. The servers were exceptional.
Great pre-theater dinner spot. The service is great.
Overall, this was a good experience. My pot roast was amazing, and my wife really enjoyed her scallops as well. the only "downer" was the crab fried rice. When it was placed in front of us, we were SO excited. it was a generous portion topped with sliced avocado. However, both my wife and I experienced multiple pieces of crab shell (my first one was really big) that pretty much ruined it for us, as we were more focused on feeling for more shells instead of enjoying the flavor.
All in all, it's hard not to recommend mercy though. Good wine list, overall good food and a great location for theater at The Orpheum.
We have dined a few times at Mercy since its across the street from the Orpheum and we have season tickets. We were surprised to see that they have changed their menu significantly scaling back on delicious menu items and the prices have really increased! Not sure what was going on when we were there, we arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation. It was 5:15 p.m. and the restaurant was basically empty. The hostess said she would not seat us until 5:30 p.m. because she needed to seat all the 5:15 p.m. reservations. The funny thing, we were the only people in line. Eventually they came to the bar and seated us early. The food is fantastic but there is always something a little different at this restaurant and it is pricey with a more limited menu now.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Mercy. Service was prompt and attentive throughout our dinner. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by roasted vegetables. My friend had the scallops accompanied by risotto which she said was excellent. Mercy has a nice variety of wines by the glass. It’s a bit noisy for conversation but that’s more a personal preference; others might not mind the noise level. Will
definitely return for another pre-theater dinner.
We went for Valentine's Day and shared their coursing menu. The first course was an assortment of cold seafood items - oysters, shrimp, scallops and ceviche. We didn't have a lot of experience in this area, so it was nice to taste for the first time samples of each. Really enjoyed the ceviche.
We then had a soup and salad for the next course - both were delicious - the soup was cream-based with bacon and another protein (I can't recall) and the salad was asparugus, arugula, egg, etc... Very tasty!
Main courses were a steak and a fish entree - both were extremely tasty - especially like the seafood cornbread. Dessert was a shared ice cream and cheesecake combo.
Overall the food was delicious - we were very satisfied though I did a poor job describing (it's been over a week from the actual meal). The price was $110 for both, which seemed maybe a bit steep, or could have included a pairing of wine, etc... Overall, it met our desire for a romantic V-day meal.
We shared the beet and apple salad. It was delicious so I wouldn't recommend sharing. I ordered the salmon and it was a nice sized entree - I could have split it. My husband ordered the duck confit - it was also delicious and a good sized plate. It was busy and a little noisy between 6:30-7:30 but after 7:30 it was cozy and quiet as many diners left to catch a show nearby. We'll definitely return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mercy. We were attending a play across the street and decided to have dinner prior to the show. We would definitely visit again.
My group felt that the portions were small compared to what we were being charged. We were also disappointed that the All Day menu isn't really available all day.
Great service but pot roast was dry and el dente carrots were el crunchy.
Dessert was good.
I like this place in spite of it being in a hotel. I’m not a big fan of hotel restaurants. I had been here over the summer for lunch and fell in love with the pastrami sandwich. Best pastrami sandwich west of NY/NJ. On open table it is listed on the dinner menu. It is only listed in the bar menu at night but our waiter was very accommodating and I ordered it. It didn’t disappoint. It comes with either fries or salad and I got the salad and it overtook the plate. It was delicious but a bit underdressed. My husband had the shrimp and grits and although the shrimp were over cooked he enjoyed it very much. We shared fried calamari for an appetizer and I liked the fried pickled veggies on the plate but all of the coating had too much corn meal in the coating. It almost tasted sandy. Passed on dessert to catch a show.
I was underwhelmed by the grilled vegetables with marrow beans (which were pasty, rather than creamy). Friends had the salmon, which seemed to have been a good choice. I would recommend the Brussel Sprouts, which were delicious. Service was slow, particularly since we had a time constraint due to tickets at the State Theater. We made it in time but just barely.
I realize it was after the Super Bowl Game, but the profanity was not okay. I asked multiple servers to do something about the 2 make Eagles Fans. I was told they are the owners friends, real classy. Also my crab grilled cheese was way salty, all bread and burnt.
Not sure how soon I’ll be coming back!
The service was so bad it was laughable. My friend and i waited 45 minutes past the reservation time to sit. Then another 20 min to get water. Then an hour and a half for dinner - and it came out wrong. Two times. This is not a joke. We only stayed because we were laughing so hard at the catastrophe that was dinner.
We went for super bowl weekend I like seafood my husband likes steak is was great for both.
