Fabulous dining experience!
Loved the atmosphere and history.
A 60th BD for a friend. Just a lovely evening all around. Never disappointed with Melvyn’s
Great atmosphere.. beautiful setting, our server was outstanding.. local, knowledgeable about area, friendly and wanted our experience to be top notch.. food was great.. price was at top end but definitely worth it.
Perfect for a special occasion. We celebrated my husband's birthday.
We love the ambiance of one of Frank Sinatra's old haunts, the food is always spectacular, and an incredible bar. We will continue to return whenever in the Palm Springs area. Kudos!
Excellent food and outstanding service
Love the atmosphere and the Manhattan was outstanding. The food was good not great. The mussels were very small and the Mac and cheese very disappointing. It was noodle with cheese sauce poured over it. Octopus was good and the escargot excellent. The deserts were excellent, bananas foster, cherries jubilee and chocolate lava cake were highlights. For such an iconic spot the food could improve. Jose was an excellent server.
Fabulous! Loved the decor, the atmosphere, the food, the piano player - wonderful evening!!!
The very worst food in the desert. $5 valet ,$6 Covid charge,$9 for bread. Bartender did not know how to make a Manhattan, the Bolognese had zero flavor( hard to do) and the New York Steak, What is that? Was as cheap a piece of meat $$ can buy. There are too many fine restaurants here to bother with this one. Open Table rating is a joke!
Fine dining in every way. Loved everything except that from the dining area, I could not hear the live music. Great place for a special evening.
Fun. Great food. Perfect service
Everything was excellent…. But - First World Problem… the $18 martini is way, way, way too small, and served in a coupe glass. Does anyone like a tiny cocktail? It was the only mark against an otherwise fantastic meal.
Ben the server is awesome! What a great birthday night of dining! Top notch!
One of the best meals I have ever eaten at a restaurant! Service was impeccable!
Fantastic service, ambiance & food. Loved the piano singer playing in the back ground too
After a wonderful week in PS area, we wanted a classic PS restaurant experience. We went to Melvyn’s. The menu is similar to nearly all of the same style restaurants but the prices here again were just too high. $17 for onion soup? Burnt onions and celery Vera one with sherry. The Caesar was $18. Had great flavor! The steak tartare was served with quail egg and had decent flavor but the toast points weren’t sturdy to hold the prep. The 16oz Ribeye was great and I added on a lobster half, poached. It was awful…overcooked and had zero flavor. My son ordered the paperdelle pasta and it was too sour from the tomatoes and lacked any depth. Overall average but at $250 with no alcohol, I’m not rushing back!
We had Ben as our server last night. He was absolutely one of the best servers we’ve ever encountered. His professionalism and food knowledge was exceptional.
Get the Beef Wellington. One of my favorite dishes, and this one was simply the best!
Not what it used to be, for sure
Loved the corner booth
Recently our party of four had a lovely evening dining at Melvyn's. It's old world Palm Springs with valet parking, a captain at the door, well dressed waiters, table cloths, well mannered guests, a piano bar, and a few items on the menu that are prepared at the table; sometimes even flaming. We found the menu nice and the quality and taste quite good. Expensive. Dressy. Recommended
This excellent restaurant evokes memories of the glamorous jazz years of Hollywood. The food is tasty, and the live entertainment was wonderful. This place is quite a treat for visitors because of the good energy brought by all the locals. Add it to your to do list for Palm Springs!
It was quite a subdued New Year's dinner for us, given that we were not in our turf, but still with family nonrtheless. The place was vibrant though.
We love Ben! It’s rare to experience such curated service these days.
Pre New Year’s Eve dinner & martinis with friends
So festive and of course the best martinis.
The seafood platter is the must have item for the table … it’s abundant & very very good
Lovely meal and great service.
Always a "must" for us when daycationing in PS. Seems, though, it used to be that the famous table-side Steak Diane preparation included having the steak thinly sliced and tempered with the sauce, so was disappointed that the sauce was prepared and simply poured over a kitchen prepared piece of steak that was sitting under a warming cover which ultimately steamed the stead beyond the desired preparedness. That was a disappointment.
Mediocre. Very crowded, touristy spot. Decor is pretty. Request the patio for a quieter table. The truffle risotto wasn't risotto at all. It was a very dry rice dish with mushrooms and small slices of truffle. They should not label it as risotto. Every table in the restaurant ordered Steak Diane for the flambe show. Restaurant was very smokey from all the flambe.
Waited 1.5 hours for our entree. Rubber octopus. Sent it back. Sat in enclosed patio, full of people. Bad Cosmo. Won't go back...
Service very bland, poor table in cold corner-seated next ti greasy haired
Young adult with ball cap.
Service again very bland, several food
items not available. Not a good experience since meal cost over $400.
Old school class in Palm Springs. Dinner., Desert, & Drinks are always awesome. Love the music in the lounge too - perfect every time.
The Duck was delicious as usual, the prime rib was also excellent great flavor. The chicken pot pie was dry inside - no sauce in it .
Overall we had a wonderful experience
Wonder food, had the chicken pot pie, and it was delicious. Good Wine, and if you are up for it the music in the bar was fantastic. Wait staff was excellent, as was the valet, and location.
No negatives in this experience.
Terrific classic venue, great live music, friendly professional service, good food though expensive for what they offer.
Big improvements at Melvyn's! Beginning with a friendly and accommodating host at the front desk, and servers who were helpful and of pleasant demeanor. We were there for brunch and it was a great experience. Will be back soon.
Sunday brunch. Very limited breakfast items. Coffee $6. That’s a bit over the top. Good service. Food was just average quality.
We were there on Christmas Day. Ordered the Rack of Lamb and Braised short ribs which were excellent. What lowered my overall score were the Martini's and lemon drops which were served in the smallest drink glass I have ever seen at $17.00 each.
We were seated in the enclosed patio which I prefer and it was great.
Melvyn's in one of a handful of my favorite places to dine in Palm Springs.
The service, atmosphere and the food always makes for a real treat!!
Can't wait for my next trip :)
This is a classic Palm Springs scene. Elegant and festive but feeling a little tired.
