It’s just the times we are in…not enough servers for the number of people. There was one server for half the restaurant and he was slammed. He did his best but we had to wait a long time for both food and drinks. The food was just ok and not over the top.
Love the atmosphere here! The gardens are beautiful to stroll through after a long lunch. Food is tasty and original. Servers are super pleasant and welcoming. I always enjoy coming here.
Didn’t accommodate my reservation and then slow service. Finally they were out of basic types of food. Sucked and so not worth time or money. It’s all good though. I’ll find some place else to go.
Ordered Terminator Avocado Toast. 3 bites were so salty, I almost sent it back. Hot sauce brought out was totally salty. My sister got the omelet which was good but the potatoes were extremely salty as well.
Ambiance and service were par for MM's but the food dissapointed.
Edgefield is a beautiful location and we choose to come early and walk through the beautiful gardens. Then we went to the restaurant and had a personable server, good food and drink that was not "pub food". Dessert at the end also quite good.
Overall a good time.
Wonderful food. I’m amazed people come here to just order a burger. Had the Halibut and the Lamb and it was amazing! My fish was great, but my dates Lamb was to die for.
Excellent food . Fresh. Had the etoufee. Outstanding. Grounds are beautiful.
It was a bit slow on getting our drinks but it was not at the fault of our waiter who was awesome. The food was delicious and the whole experience was a great way to have a birthday brunch
I’ve been to a ton of mcmenamins many many times and this was the first time having a poor experience. My food was wrong and a complete turn off. He forgot a portion of my boyfriends meal too. Then my back up food was a complete poor excuse of a salad. It was no joke a pile of lettuce with nothing but a handful of tomatoes on it. I was so annoyed I slid it to the side, drank my wine and left. First time at edgefield and sadly probably my last. What should have been a good time celebrating a birthday turned into us going to a dive bar to supplement a late dinner as it was too late to go anywhere else
Great place for a dinner on the patio!
We had the Cajun tots, chopped salad, and the tuna all split three ways for starters.
We all had the lamb Oso Bucco which was delicious!
Our wait person/staff was very nice and attentive without being over jealous.
Definitely will go back
Average food for twice the price. Drinks were food. Service was good but slow.
We always enjoy Edgefield, Power Station and Black Rabbit. I do wish there were more vegan options at Black Rabbit. I love the hammerhead garden burger and can't order from BR. The whatever "lite" is horrible. As I vegan, I don't like the flavor of beef at all and this one tries for sure. I think most vegetarians don't like meat so why serve a "burger" like that.
The Black Rabbit is an amazing restaurant. The food is so good. This last visit did leave us a little disappointed. I had made the reservations online for a 330pm seating. I made the reservation based on the online information stating that dinner started at 3pm. We did arrive a little early, like 15 min, but were seated right away. We were given "bar menus" and when I asked we were told dinner didn't start until 4pm. I told them that we had specifically planned for the dinner not lunch. We were told that unfortunately the online information was incorrect and this was a common problem for them. Then we were given 3 options. Have some drinks then leave, order what was available or to just go ahead and leave. We had driven well over an hour for this reservation. It was our anniversary dinner and we had planned our day over month in advance. We decided to go ahead and stay to eat. The food was ok, the wait staff was great, but it just was a little disappointing that they didn't even seem to care that the information was wrong online. We also heard another table making the same complaint while we were there. We will definitely return and still recommend the restaurant to others.
The steak and potatoes were too salty, but we will give them a hall pass knowing that things will be a little rocky during the reopening.
I suggest quieter background music, a more level dynamic range. Opera and violins when peaking can overwhelm conversations. The venue is calming, the, the music should match.
Always a great time at Mcmenamins!
My out of town guest loves the Edgefield so it was our first choice when we wanted to go to brunch. Such a cool place, brunch was delicious and the waitress was so pleasant.
Service and food were excellent. Highly recommend.
We waited 40 minutes for breakfast. The food was ok but over priced
Food was amazing as always, service was awesome as well
My waiter is a master class at his job. Very respectful and using gender neutral pronouns when unsure were very appreciated by our table. A+
Great fast service!!
We waited for about 20 minutes with no one stopping by our table. My husband went and asked the hostess if anyone knew we were sitting there. Once the waitress came over we ordered appetizers, then another 30 minutes we ordered our meal. The appetizers had not showed up after an hour so we asked if they were coming the waitress told us “they were waiting for the clams to open”. Not sure about you but it’s never taken an hour for clams to open. The appetizers came along with our dinner two minutes behind. Food was just okay. Cancelled my reservations for the following evening. Will not be back.
Good food, nice atmosphere, and that includes the whole grounds of Edgefield.
My favorite McMenamins property! I've celebrated a few birthdays here!
Menu was somewhat limited but everything else was very good.
Have never been disappointed dining here. will continue to do so.
Another customer 2 tables down was having a speakerphone conversation the entire time. Very loud. Very annoying. The waitress laughed it off. But it made our Mother’s Day lunch less than enjoyable.
Mcmenamins always wins for environment. The food is fine, nothing special. But for what it lacks in menu and food it’s make up for in a beautiful environment. The grounds at Black Rabbit are just the best.
There wasn’t enough staff and they didn’t have my reservation.
Love this place - always great food and atmosphere.
Had a great waiter. Had a fabulous night with good food
There was a table next to us literally yelling the whole time. We couldn’t talk above them.
The Eggs Benedict is simply wonderful.
Top it off with a Mimosa and you're set for the day!
Service was awful and the food tasted like bandaids.
My go to place for great breakfast-never disappoints.
My friend had a side Caesar salad that was poorly made, just kind of thrown onto a small plate. I had a small Winter Greens salad with chicken. The pear slices were tiny and tasteless, there was very little blue cheese and the chicken was unappealing looking. My friend's vegetable soup was good, however. We also each had an alcoholic drink with pineapple juice and a lime slice -- couldn't taste the alcohol and it tasted like watered-down juice. Almost tasteless. It all came to $40 which isn't bad at all, but the food was really disappointing.
I took my wife to McMenamins Black Rabbit Restaurant & Bar for her birthday and had as good a steak as I have ever eaten. The drinks were also very good. The service was excellent with a delightful waitress. We will definitely go back again.
Our service once seated was amazing, but we were disappointed by the hostess not being available to seat us for our 11am reservation time and causing us to miss the breakfast time. We were finally seated at 11:30 after standing there for 30 minutes. We had to be seated by the bartender servicing the bar by the hostess stand. We were going for my friends birthday and I had made the reservation a couple of weeks ago specifically for breakfast, which had the drinks and food we were most excited about. Super disappointed with the handling of seating us for our reservation and causing us to miss the time to order from the menu we wanted to be ordering from.
The food was wonderful and the service excellent.
