McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Minneapolis

My husband and I went for Valentines Day. I had the stuff salmon, my husband had the lobster tails and with lobster bisque mashed potatoes. I thought it was life over all. My husband feels like it should have had a better presentation for it being Valentines Day. The food was great!! Our server had personality. I’ll go again.
It was my first time there and first experience. I ordered a ribeye and asked for mediums well and came out and wasn’t medium well, it was medium rare. They took it to kitchen and made me a second plate. The ribeye was way too over done cook. Overall we did spike to the manager about the situation and got the meal taken off our tab.
It was February 14th so it was very slow service.. but the food was delicious
After making a reservation and requesting a nice table we got to the restaurant at the time of our reservations and ended up waiting about 18 minutes. Then were sat at a table in the middle of the back room, one of several that had been open sense we arrived. The waiter was on his own agenda, spewing wine recommendations even though we can not drink wine. The food, as always was very good. I had the steak and lobster and my wife had the scalps.
Wow what a beautiful place and everyone that work their were the best!! I reserved a table and call ahead as it was a very special occasion. I was asking my girlfriend to marry me on Valentines Day. They sat us at one of the snugs a private table and we had the best waitress DONNA!! Thank you so much for making it a great night!! We will be back!!
Probably the worst experience I've had at a McCormick & Schmick's. Service from our waittress was the lone bright spot. Food was meh, we were seated in an over flow area, which was horrible. Probably our own fault, never, ever go out on valentine's day.
It's spendy, but also the best filet mignon I've had in my life! And the truffle chive mashed potatoes are totally worth the upcharge!
I always enjoy visiting your establishment, however where I was seated this time was in a high traffic area. Every time somebody came into the door I froze my butt every time somebody came into the door we got a pretty good blast of cold air . Our server was fantastic the food was great look forward to visiting again sometime soon hopefully seated elsewhere and I know reservations takes the precedence over tables that are left. Until next time my friends have a wonderful day !
The food and the service were, as always, second to none. I will always recommend this restaurant.
Food was awesome. The service was best I have seen at restaurant in a long time. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
The best food and atmosphere. Our server was absolutely the best ever! He took care of us, gave ya bar recommendations for when we left, and joined in our fun! Best experience!
Took my daughter to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood for her birthday. Food and service were excellent. Everything was perfect. I ordered the strip steak, my wife the shrimp, and my daughter the shrimp combo. It was all perfect as was the service.
Food was delicious, service was good for as busy as it was, when I made the reservation I requested a booth we ended up at a table, but it was very nice as well. We will definitely go back.
Fabulous food and service. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they brought her a free creme brulee with a candle. Waiter recommended a great wine to go with our meals.
The seafood in the signature dish contain hardly any fish; no scallop as was shown in the picture; mussels were the smallest I have seen; the little clams were closed shut and hard to crack open. The seafood was served in minestrone broth without any taste.
No wet towel was provided to clean after using hands to help cracking the clam or a portion of the crab leg served.
The wasabi mashed potatoes did seem to have any wasabi. The Lobster bisque was too salty.
The service was great.
Had a business lunch here and enjoyed it. The clam chowder was excellent! Ceasar salad lacked flavor but my guest had a custom steak salad and he enjoyed it. We each had dessert. He enjoyed the Keylime Pie and I loved the creme brulee. It ended up being a pricey lunch. Zak, our server was very good with food suggestions and attention. I would go there again but not on a regular basis due to price.
Birthday, our favorite place
It was beyond what I had expected!!! I took my husband there for his 37th birthday and we enjoyed everything! I would recommend this place to anyone! Amazing staff, waiter was just amazing, good customer service from the time we walked in and until we left! Great place for a birthday, anniversary, and etc. If you drink you won’t be let down!
Food was tasty but under seasoned. Tuna was a bit over done....not rare.
Our group was celebrating a special occasion and we received excellent service( although I find the use of “my dear” by waitstaff to be patronizing. As middle-aged women, we expect terms of endearment from family and friends, not servers.) The ambiance was pleasant and staff were all attentive. Our entire table ordered seafood, both appetizers and main courses. The lobster bisque, clam chowder and mussels appetizer were agreed to be tasty by our group, but our main courses, though among the most expensive on the menu, were unexceptional. I would say that I have had better, more creatively prepared seafood around town in other places for a much better value. I wouldn’t come here again to celebrate, it’s probably much better suited for a business lunch.
17.00 for 5 fried shrimp and a handful of fries is crazy
Food and service were very good. The smoked manhattan was excellent. The filet mignon was delicious. Great meal !
Wonderful food and great server! The drinks were amazing as well.
Had a good lunch
We love this restaurant and have always enjoyed delicious food, well prepared as well as excellent service. Tonight we asked that our entree be prepared differently from the menu - and it came exactly as we’d asked. The ambience suits fine dining with its dark wood yet modern feeling dining areas.
The food was great as it always has been. The lobster tails were amazing, and the stuffed salmon as well. Our server Julie was very attentive and over the top.
Perfect New Year’s Eve date spot
New Year’s Eve dinner and drinks
Waited 25 minutes for our first drinks. Server apologized but did not offer to make it right. Steak was medium well even though I ordered medium rare. Ordered mashed potato side & got 3 asparagus spears instead. Not a good experience.
It was great to see Nate and Alex at the front and Dan and Gio at the bar ......
Went with my husband on NYE. We made our reservation early enough to avoid the rush so it was quiet and the service was great. The food and drinks were great. It was pricey but worth it!
This place is fancy. The food tastes good and it’s fancy. The service was courteous, friendly & fancy. The seating was nicely spaced, comfortable, and fancy. The drink menu had lots of great options for any pallet, but I was happy to see that some of the options were fancy.
Very excellent crab cake entree. Delicious!
Always impressed by M&S! Took my brothers and sister in law out for their Christmas present and had a great meal in one if the private booth rooms. Loved it. Great service and food!
We think M&S on Nicollet is hard to beat for a fun time out. It has a downtown feel, urban and classic. The service is professional, the food always dependable but the ambiance and vibe of the place is why we go there. And the adjacent parking is perfect convenience.
For the price, food was mediocre. Not bad, but not anything speical.
Celebrating Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve. Great staff. Server came over a bit too much, felt a bit rushed. Then also tried to sell me some $25 coupon thing. Probably not the right time and place being a holiday evening.
Food was good but waiter not very attentive (never asked us about dessert) and seemed to disappear a lot. It is possible that he was working too many tables but otherwise experience was pleasant and we would go again.
