Excellent food and service.
Solid wine selection with great value. Awesome spot. We will be back.
Wow! The best new Israeli spot in Echo Park. Easy street parking. Indoor + outdoor seating options with heaters. Great wine selection. We ordered 4 things off the menu to share. Big portions and delicous flavors. Chef came by to set our food down and asked multiple times how our meal was. Great atmosphere with cute decor. We will be coming back!
Staff are lovely and food service and quality is awesome
The variety, freshness and flavors you can find at Mazal cannot be beat! With accommodating staff and delicious menu items there is something for everyone.... or every thing for everyone!
Delicious food well priced! Would go back nice night out. A bit more casual than I thought inside but overall great experience! Would absolutely drive out again for it
Fantastic food, lovely family feel, great service...a wonderful night!
Nice flavors, but kind of lackluster environment / loud music which made it very difficult to hear the server.
Food was excellent! Hands down the fluffiest, most delicious pita bread I have ever had, and that’s saying something because I am unabashedly a pita and hummus snob. Everything we ate was amazing! I will certainly be back!
Great food! Awesome outdoor area in the back - felt like I was in Tel Aviv. Amazing hummus and super fresh pita too! Will be back.
Mazal is a diamond in the rough in terms of location - would be hard to know it's there! It's family owned, upbeat, colorful, and so much thoughfullness has been put into the ambiance and menu. I am excited to go back and highly recommend any Angelino visit!
Mazal is a real gem with their super cute patio and delicious food. The design is beautiful and the atmosphere is welcoming and warm. We met the owner Tal who had excellent recommendations. Killer wine list too. Love this new spot, and cannot wait to return to try all the entrees.
AMAZING! Homemade delicious everything and the wine list was perfect. Go now, but take me with you.
Wow! Great experience from the service to the food. Fun and hip location just off the beaten path but still easily accessible.
As for the food...I lived in Israel for 4 years and grew up Israeli... this is the real deal in terms of Israeli/Mediterranean food. The hummus and tehina brought me back to the streets of Tel Aviv and they even have Israeli beer to complete the experience. All they’re missing is dancing on tables ;)
Forgot to mention that the owner came out to introduce himself and inquire how our food/experience was. We learned that he built and designed the entire interior and exterior himself by hand while his permit was pending approval during COVID.
Go and support this small business! You won’t regret it
The restaurant is a creation - it’s been created from passions (unlike a franchise). Really warming to be in that context!
Everything was tasty but the dips and that pita bread hands down amazing!
So delicious!
A hidden gem, well worth the trip. Food was delicious across the board with an interesting (and very affordable) selection of wines. The outdoor dining setup in the alley felt very COVID safe and plenty of heat lamps to keep warm. Definitely will be returning again soon!
Amazing! Always love going to Mazal for the great food and ambiance.
Mazal is the new jewel of Lincoln Heights! The food is fresh and contemporary and carries the best of its ancient origins. We absolutely love it and look forward to becoming regulars at this wonderful new local spot. Thank you, Tal!
Nice experience
My favorite restaurant in LA! Excellent food and such nice ambiance. Every time we go, the owner remembers us. Even what we are the previous time!
Love this restaurant, Visited 3 times and intend to come many more times. Excellent succulent food, friendly hosts and waiters, cant wait to visit again
Incredible! What a hidden gem with the best Israeli food I’ve had so far in Los Angeles. Their pita and babaganoush are to die for. Great for take out and dining in their outdoor patio. Was not crowded and felt very safe COVID-precautions wise. Will be dining here regularly from now on!
Great wine list, food is filling and a value. The dad is the best
Delicious food in a graciously improvised outdoor setting. Terrific addition to a neighborhood that needs more options like Mazal!
Incredible food and warm atmosphere, amazing wine selection. Come see for yourself!
I wish there were some more hot dishes, and that the carrots came hot, but that pita is unlike anything I’ve had. And the dips are great. The tahini cake is like a pound cake and must be tried. The cauliflower is great. The veggie ricotta flatbread lacked flavor next to everything else, but if you drizzle some of the spicy tahini on it you can satisfactorily salvage it. I wish it had come with some bolder and punchier flavors on that flatbread though. Big orange wine selection.
The food was delicious! The environment was amazing and the staff and owner were the nicest people!! I'm so happy I found this place! I highly recommend them!
Easily my favorite restaurant in LA now. They are bringing fresh ideas and fresh ingredients to classics and introducing some new-wave takes as well. Excited to hit this during the spring and summertime!
Delicious food, great wine variety. The staff was friendly and efficient. Definitely going back to try more of the menu. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Always amazing food and wine and a great time! Will definitely come back!
Great Food! Great ambiance! Friendly staff! A foreign oasis in the midst of LA
We loved the ambiance. Very authentic, chic, and beautiful. We ordered a flatbread, the hummus, the carrots, the cauliflower, and the bourekas. I can’t say a bad word about any of it! It’s actually quite the opposite - we loved everything. My husband always wants to try new places every time we go out to eat and after eating here he said, “Good job, babe, you found a place I want to eat again and again.” We were planning our next trip before we even finished our food. Thank you!
Fantastic experience! Lovely people and service!
Everything was amazing from the food to the wine to the service to the ambience! I highly recommend it and will definitely go again and again!
Amazing food and outdoor dining experience. Was seated by the owner who gave us a great intro to the restaurant. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and food on the menu. Full organic wine list and vegetarian menu. Loved everything we ordered! Favorites were the borekas and potato with hummus.
Every dish that we have ordered, which is almost all of them has been phenomenal. Awesome wine list with lots of fun and funky options. You must get the hummus and the bagel and don’t skip on desert. Excellent service, Tal and his staff are great.
Great restaurant owned by a family. Food is exceptional!! We had such an amazing experience over there, felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Definitely will be coming back
Great restaurant. Our first time having Israeli and we loved all of our dishes! We had carrots dish, cauliflower dish, hummus, tahini and feta/potato bouerkas. Would highly recommend. Great service
Mazal was just what I was looking for as my first dine out experience with the re-opening. The welcoming and creative ambiance paired with the staff’s hospitality made me feel at home. Service was attentive and the food was spot on 👌🏼 from dips to salads to mains (oh and don’t forget to pair it with a bottle of wine).
Would 10/10 recommend and am looking forward to coming back soon!
