We had been super excited about this dinner based on friends’ recommendations, a 16th birthday celebration for my nephew. The service was abysmal during the whole meal, food landed cold on the table, and the “can you do a little something special” birthday request (despite calling in advance and also putting in Open Table) was ignored or forgotten until they were reminded and by then we were miserable and wanted to leave. If you order the shrimp please note that they arrive with “heads on”which you have to deal with before you can make fajitas. The whole thing was super-depressing and I mostly felt sorry for my nephew!

Slow service. Food was cold. Margarita’s terrible. This was supposed to be a great Mexican restaurant. Stay away. Overpriced and terrible.

Was staying at the Westin with my family and accidentally made our reservation for 7 am rather than 7 pm. I walked down that afternoon to see if I could get in for that evening and the gentleman (who turned out to be a bartender) at the host stand was not able to work open table but said by looking at it there was plenty of room and to come back before 6 pm. (It was about 4 pm at the time) we headed back at 5:30 pm and the hostess was incredibly rude and would not accommodate us (a party of 2) because of some “very large parties” coming in and we wouldn’t be seated until 7:30 pm. We opted to sit at the Lookout Bar and proceeded to watch Maya not get busy at all and a lot of their waitstaff standing around. So she not only took money out the waitstaffs pocket by not seating them, she was a poor representation of the hotel. Not helpful, snotty. I understand how restaurant dining rooms work and running a reservation system and the fact that some of those 5 tops showed up an hour after we did just shows how poorly the staff is maximizing revenue.

Overall, a huge disappointment. I sent back my drink twice, it was as if the bar tender used RealLime (lime concentrate) and made the drinks with it. And at $18 a drink it’s just unacceptable. In the end our waiter was very understanding and friendly and made the appropriate accommodations. The food was just ok at best.. the guacamole was not made table side (it was obviously pre made), the entrees had so much potential but they were the size of an appetizer and they came out slightly cooler than room temperature. Again, our waiter was very gracious and nice, and he was about the only nice thing about this place. I would say find another Mexican place to eat. Save your money! Some of the excuses was short staffing, which let’s face it, it’s run it’s course.

My wife has celiac disease - a severe gluten allergy and was promised she would be ok. She got sick after dinner.

No table side guac anymore and felt like the place had lost its luster. Had pork carnitas and they were ok and overpriced. Fried ice cream is a must miss. Terrible. Disappointed.
