   Best food and experience geared for grown-ups. Not concerned with trends or the taste-of-the-moment, you steadily and graciously give us classic Italian food prepared by and presented by your knowledgeable staff whose care and attention is both welcome and unrivaled.    From the moment we walked into Mattone, we knew that it was a restaurant that took care of its customers. The host was friendly, and our server was at our table almost as soon as we were seated. She returned throughout our stay to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. (The ratio of servers to diners seemed higher than at most places; that may account for the attentiveness.) The food was extraordinary, from a luscious beet salad to a filet mignon carpaccio to a lasagne that recalled the glories of Biba. We can't wait to return.

   The breadsticks were so tasty! We split an order of the ravioli, my husband had the veal and I had the pork chop - all very good. Our server Cynthia, was outstanding and gave several great recommendations. The cocktails were very good as well. We look forward to going back.

   Been to Mattone about 5 times now every single experience the service has been above and beyond. From the hostess to servers to everything. Today we were running a little late due to traffic and the hostess was able to push back our reservation when online said no availability. The food is amazing! We never feel rushed to leave like there trying to turn a table quick. The servers are great and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Highly recommend if you’re in the Sacramento area

   The food is AMAZING and nothing like anything else in the region!!! The lasagna is TO DIE FOR. Run, do not walk to Mattone restaurant. You will not be sorry!

   The food was very good, the service was friendly and excellent. It was my friends birthday and they put a lit candle on her dessert. That was a sweet gesture.

   Excellent service, very nice ambiance. Filet Minon bites were delish, so was the beet salad. Ravioli of the day very good, but Lobster w pasta & vodka sauce was not good. Just a little inconsistent. Recommend specials. Avoid the lobster.

    Per usual the food & service were excellent. We each had a Manhattan cocktail....love them. Dinner was Ceasar salad & lasagne. Since we sat at a table in the bar, the noise level was high.
