Deliciosa with a very high lévelo of quality in the ingredients
Starting with valet ..I stood outside my car waiting on the valet to take my keys. The attendant still took the car behind me first. Next after getting seated we asked the waitress for a few moments to decide on drinks. She did not return for 15 minutes. She did not ask if this was our first Mastros experience or if there was a special occasion, which there was. One of our drinks came out incorrectly( with salt, not requested) and was remade. Our appetizers were not as expected. We waited 25mins on those and prior to ordering them the waitress made it very clear that we had to order in minutes or not order anything because the kitchen was closing. One of our appetizers was burnt and the other was not prepared correctly as requested. Our waitress was very inattentive, not personable, and not knowledgeable about the menu items. I have been to many Mastro’s in different states and the service on this night was terrible. I also expressed my terrible disappointing experience to Tilman Fertitta last night.
Celebrated our anniversary there. Service was rushed, the food was taken away before we had barely finished eating. The lighting was too low and the noise level was deafening. Waiters kept dropping things behind our table all night. The food is very high quality but for the prices you pay , service should be expert, with attention to detail. I felt like I was in a food factory, not a restaurant.
I decided to take my girlfriend here for her Birthday. This was our first time at this restaurant and decided to go here after everything we read.
When arriving the hostess asked us about her birthday and then proceeded to seat us. After being seated the server came and placed menus on the table and walked away. No formal greeting just left the menus and walked away. Another person came and asked us if we wanted any water since we had been sitting for a few minutes. After that our server came back and asked us if we were ready to order and if it was our first time. We told him it was our first time so he proceeded to read the specials. You could tell he didn’t care and just wanted to leave.
After finishing our food the server cane back and dropped off a dessert menu and then walked away. Again not saying anything. No mention of her birthday or any recommendations on dessert, just dropped it and walked away. He came back several minutes later and asked us if we decided and we just said we don’t want anything and asked for our bill which he had readily available.
Now to the absolute worst part of our night. We went to go get are car from the valet. I turned in my ticket and waited. Then waited some more. After about 20 minutes I went back and asked about my car and they said they have 3 lots to get cars from and it will be a little while. We waited again for another 10 minutes and went back to the valet to ask about my car. The guy asked what kind of keys I had and what kind of car. I explained it was a bmw 3 series. Now after another 15 minutes a guy walks up and said they have lost my car and asked if I wanted to walk the lots to try and identify it!! Wtf! Well I did keep in mind it was my girlfriends birthday and she is standing outside in the cold wearing a dress all while we look for my car. Anyhow after an hour we find my car parked outside with the keys still in it. Turns out the valet guy never took the keys out and actually gave me the wrong number!!
The restaurant was so noisy it was near impossible to talk to our tablemates. The fish tasted old and the salad was tasteless. The food in general was greatly overpriced, even for an upper end restaurant. The place was hopping, so apparently a lot of people are happy to take the notable drawbacks in stride.
Joshua did a great job. I did request a quite table for our date and they put us in the bar area
Best part we had to sit next to each other to communicate
Mastros has failed to disappoint. Staff, Service and food continues to be consistent. Best in class dining if you are looking for a steak house first with an amazing alternative selection. Not to mention an incredible wine selection for all types of budget.
Truly a wonderful celebration of my :-) Birthday—- good service & amazing food choices
One of our favorite go to restaurants for special occasions. Never disappointed over many years.
Always great! Celebrating two anniversaries and one birthday. Best steaks!
Birthday & Date. Fantastic as always! Great to see dress code still in tact! Keep it up.... I love Mastro’s!
Pretty dark inside but Overall experience it was great!
All of our steaks were over cooked. No attention to detail.
A small waiting area by entrance. Waiters dodging patrons and vice versa... chaos. It is a wnder that trays were not dropped on people waiting for their reserved table. Very noisy in dining room. Unpleasant. Would not go back for a nice dinner. Way too expensive. Small 2 x 2 x 1.5 inch filet was well over $50 with no sides included. Service was excellent and filet was good but have had as good at other fine steak houses. I will not be back....poor value and way too noisy.
As fabulous as always! Thank you so much for making our birthday so memorable💖
All the food was amazing. The serving assistants were very attentive, more so than our waiter. We sat in the booth type tables and they were too close. We could hear every word from the tables next to us on both sides. The music was too loud. When the waiter was giving the specials we couldn't hear what he was saying. It was our 23 year anniversary and we received a complimentary cake with the lovely sentiment written on the plate. The gesture was much appreciated. All in all a good night and we will return.
Had a great dinner at Mastros Costa Mesa. Very friendly staff and amazing steak! If they offer you truffle butter on your steak, say YES!
Food was very tasty and delicious! Never disappoints, excellent service too,
Service could be better. Two weeks ago everything was perfect but yesterday i was rushed
The server did not ask us how we wanted our add ons to our steak. We did not want it served Oscar style. But they did not tell us that was how they were going to serve it. Please ask how we want it next time
This is our second trip to a Mastro's. Once when the one on El Paseo in Palm Desert first opened. Then this one. The value is just not there. They are very Overpriced for the experience that you get. By no means would I consider it fine dining.
We visit many of the restaurants that Landry's has taken over and it seems like the restaurants that they purchase immediately starts to cut quality, but they keep the high prices. We won't go back.
Everything was great! The wine, the food, the normal Mastro's experience. Expensive but worth the price for special occasions. The only issue this time is a group of about six early 20's aged kids came in and were super loud and disruptive. It really ruined the ambiance of the place almost immediately. Everyone else in the dining room where we were was older and kept their conversations to their table whereas this group was acting like they were in a bar.
Classic steak house. Perfect menu. Great wine selection.
Nice appearance, we were seated in the bar area where it was pretty noisy. Waiter came and got order and he forgot half of my meal. Alec was not attentive and bypassed our table a number of times. Armando came to his rescue a number of times. If Armando was not around my 1st time experience would have been ruined. Food was amazing all around. I have no complaints there steak was full of flavor and the crab legs were delicious! I would totally recommend the food. I hope it was just a bad night for our server but the service was reflected in the tip. He really missed out because I am usually a heavy tipper.
Great food, service, and music -- the very best, a 9 out of 10. However, when it comes to resolving customer safety/issues, poor execution, process, and communication from their leadership team - so that's certainly a 2 out of 10. I know they can do better, just go back to the basics and listen to your customers and communicate accordingly.
We were obviously rushed through the meal—a special occasion celebrating an important evening in our lives. It may have been a Monday, but we arrived at 7 and were pushed so quickly through this important dinner, it was over shortly after 8. (When the server uncorked the fine Bordeaux, he never even offered a taste, just proceeded to dump way too much into the glass; the entree was rushed with people continually interrupting us to clear the table; when he came around to collect the plates, I started to ask for one item boxed a certain way and he barked over, interrupting: “You want dessert or coffee?” Never even offering a dessert menu. We ordered the flourless chocolate and had to wait @10 minutes to then request the whipped cream it comes with—by the time we got his or anyone’s attention, he was only back to dump off the check.) We watched him interrupt other tables and their conversations to rush them out/clear the entire dining room by 820. Sadly, our memorable experience was ruined by horrible service. SO NOT OK for a special occasion.
Everything was delicious. Appetizers, steak lamb, calamari, grilled sashimi. I mean everything was delicious.
We love Mastros!! Service is always fantastic, same goes for the food and drinks!!
The food was amazing but our server MADE the experience.
The best steak, excellent quality and service. The ambiance was crowded but nice with piano and a singer. Great experience.
Requested ahead of time for table near the stage and they called to confirmed. When arrived we did not get that table.
It was a busy saturday night and we had anreally hard time orsering drinks and food at the bar.
Seated our party on the patio, next to the entrance and the valet. Large groups gathering outside the restaurant and smoking. Complained about the cigarette smoke to the waiter, who said he would mention it to management. Did not get a visit by a floor manager or the general manager. For the amount of money spent this was not a great experience. Have eaten at better steakhouse's. Would think twice about returning.
Always a great meal! We brought our kids for the first time and they enjoyed it. A little too loud for our 9 year old, but they love the food.
Excellent Food & Service with a great high-end vibe, however the tables are too close together and the noise level is too high for a conversation
This place has the best steak we have ever had. The tomahawk steaks are amazingly delicious.
Mastros is our go to for a celebratory meal. We enjoyed the dungeness crab cocktail along with shrimp cocktail. Our main dish was chateaubriand steak, chilean sea bass and lyonnaise potatoes. The steak was mouthwatering yummy. The sea bass was a tad on the fishy side and after some thought was that we should have sent it back. Overall the meal was good but could have been excellent had the sea bass been more fresh.
Ribeye and lobster were delicious! Can’t go wrong with the dream berry. Highly recommend for special occasions where you’re willing to spend money.
