The food was AMAZING! I brought my husband there for his 40th birthday and they welcomed us and kept referring to him saying “Happy birthday”. Very welcoming, great food, great service. I will be back.
This place is a truly amazing steakhouse. Food and service was fantastic. Prices make this more of a special occasion type place I think
I love Mastro’s. Ur this time around my husbands steak wasn’t that great for what we expected of Wagyu beef and as for the service, the waitress was impossible to get a hold of. She was clearly too busy to check in on us and for what we paid we left disappointed for the first time. Over all the food was very good but can’t say it was a great experience this time.
Great food. Great service.
I can't remember my server's name but he was funny and it was a pleasure having him serve us! Food was delicious. We dined on the second floor, there was no rush and we had a very enjoyable time.
I have tried several high end steak houses and always come back to Mastro's; the food quality is unmatched. I am proud of my own steaks, but Mastro's has me beat! And with no kitchen to clean up! Services was excellent; loved our server! Whether it's worth the price is entirely up to you; you definitely don't come to Mastro's worrying too much about price, because it isn't cheap for sure, but it was sooooo good.
Way to dark. Can not read menu. Few people, like us, turn on the light in the mobile to see the menu and food. The waiter service was very good as the food
Me and two of my friends decided to stop by Mastro's to see if we could grab a quick bit since we were in the area. We tried the bar first but it was totally packed. We saw several tables open and they told us we needed to check in with hostess. Hostess told me that we couldn't get a table without reservation as they were fully committed that night. I jumped on open table and saw they had several time slots available so booked a table for that exact time. My friend check in for us and got sat right away. So annoying. Our server was great but our food was awful. Baked potatoes that weren't even cooked through. Soup that was so salty we couldn't eat. Steamed broccoli that was ice cold when it came out. And none of it was cheap. Also, how much darker can they make it in there because you cant' see anything!! Maybe they had to do that to hide how terrible it is. I miss the old Mastro's days where hostesses were friendly and food was delicious. Will not ever be back to this location and maybe no other Mastro's either for how bad my experience was.
Overall the experience was good but somehow the restaurant reported us as a no-show even though we were there
We celebrate our annual birthday dinner here! Every year it’s a good time!
I’ve been here multiple times. I usually have a 4-5 star experience but it’s been a while and it seems like the quality has degraded. I asked for medium, my meat came out very raw. Our waitress disappeared many times, forgot her pad/pen, addressed us last (maybe because there’s a little racism?) not sure what happened but everything seemed disorganized and unforgiving. My wife’s steak was superb, mints came out nauseating raw, despite both of us asking for medium rare.
i mentioned on the reservation that i was on a date and felt like i got a really great table. The server did not rush the meal which is super important as it provides ample time for conversation. The steak was outstanding, cooked perfectly and was for sure prime cut rib eye. Many steak houses say prime but you end up getting choice. Butter cake was great as always and so were the martinis with blue cheese olives.
It was great!
Been celebrating my son’s birthday here 2 yrs in a row and in previous years. Steak is comparable to other high end steakhouses. What sets it aside for my son is the butter cake dessert w/c they made complimentary as it was his birthday request! That was really nice!
Terrible customer service. Food came out wrong. Waitress insinuated I was wrong and then held up a plate for me to fork my food over to her across the table so they could prepare it correctly. Water wasn’t filled for over and hour. Frequent Mastro’s - this was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Out of this world! Knowledgeable staff & delicious food. The Live artist was truly spectacular.
Thank you for helping my siblings and I make our father's birthday so very special. Its the simple things such as his name on the menu and the birthday cake that made his night. Thank you again to the waiter, Jason! He was absolutely phenomenal. Attentive and catered to every need of each one of us as a large party of 9. We will definitely be back for more family celebrations.
Awesome food as always, great service & ambiance is always good here
Steaks were over cooked
I’ve been here many times but this was the first time I felt there were some significant flaws. Initially we were placed at a table next to the bathroom which would have been okay if you were 3 but we were 4 and within 15 seconds of sitting I had been bumped by staff twice and had a nice view of the bathroom. We asked to be reseated which was done with some attitude. As punishment, we were then ignored for over 5 mins. No waiter, no water, no nothing. Seriously, 5 minutes. We asked the busboy for our waiter and still waited. The waiter was pleasant and helpful and once service began was very good. Filet, sword fish, Caesar salad and appetizers were all very good. Unfortunately, my bone in ribeye was mediocre at best. It was cooked properly as medium rare but was tough, on he smaller side and lacked flavor. I’ve had this steak here many times but it was subpar tonight. Overall it was still a good time but not up to previous visits so I and my wife were a bit disappointed.
It was my birthday, that the wrong name on my reservation twice. But they did seat me appropriately and everyone was very nice and approachable! They even gave me a comp dessert for my bday! Service was amazing and definitely felt good on my bday!
Love it, will come back for sure
Overrated. It took about 25 minutes to get any service after being seated, on a busy Tuesday. After speaking to a couple of different workers, the third waiter who finally served us was pleasant. It was also nice to have live music on a weekday.
I scratched my lip from a chip on my champagne glass!!! They just took off it off the bill, but it ruined my peace of mind for the rest of the evening.
The "special" butter steak topping was too salty, the brussel sprouts were not as crispy as usual, and I almost choked on the excessive cheese layered on top of the mac n cheese. At least my steak was cooked to order - medium. Not really looking forward to going back anytime soon
I’ve been to Mastro’s Beverly Hills dozens of time at both lunch and dinner for business meetings and personal dates. This dinner was a date and without a doubt the worst experience I’ve had at Mastro’s— all at the hands of our rude, inept waiter.
My date and I were seated immediately on the second floor by the friendly hostess. However, at our table the problems started.
Not only did the waiter insult my date by questioning her order of two appetizers and an entree salad — “Really? That’s it...?” — but he also delivered to me the wrong steak. When I told him that I ordered the 12 oz. bone-in filet, not the porterhouse sitting in front of me, he insisted that I was wrong and it took both me and my date talking to a supervisor that I had ordered the other steak. He reluctantly took it away and then tried to take away my date’s salad and side dish by grabbing it out of her hands. I insisted he leave it and he put the plate back on the table and away in a huff.
To Mastro’s credit, my correct order was delivered within minutes. However, feeling slighted, our waiter inexplicably took away my martini with half a glass left. We thought he was going to bring a fresh one on the house as an apology, but no such luck.
In fact, no apology was made to us by anyone at Mastro’s at all. When the bill came, our waiter, true to his character, made sure to literally point at the indexed items and show me that the bone-in filet and porterhouse were the same price, and that I “wanted to pay the same for less for whatever reason”— his words. No bill correction, no apology. Nothing.
The food is excellent as is the ambiance. But it’s a roll of the dice determining the quality of your night, depending on who you get waiting on your table.
Our server, Catalina, was wonderful. She was professional, attentive and made great suggestions. The managers, Hannie and Wes were so hospitable, as well. We loved our dining experience at Mastros.
Steak was solidly rare not medium, then my plate was not hot not warm either so my rare steak couldn’t be finished on plate. My wife’s plate was hot, I had to wait for new plate. Not good execution for the price. Slight misstep on staffs part, but for the price unacceptable.
The lounge music was amazing!
The food was quite ordinary--a surprise. The wine list is overpriced.
Food is always top notch. My fave steakhouse in LA. The only thing is fire alarm went off for a while. I didn’t smell smoke so I assumed it was a false alarm. They finally turned it off after a few minutes. But no one came to apologize for the inconvenience. At a place like that, I an apology should be the minimum. But besides that hick up, good spot.
It was really loud, if you weren’t paying close attention the conversation across the table was completely missed. When the waitress listed the special at one end of the table, no one on the opposite end heard it and it was not repeated for our end. We didn’t see our waitress hardly at all, once to take meal order, when food was delivered, and of course when we asked for the check. The lighting is so dark that I couldn’t see that my steak was less than medium rare, I ordered it well. We were a party of eight and spend well over $800. Our experience was not worth the price.
Server beyond amazing loved the drinks I had a petite steak it was cooked to perfection
The steak was ok too fatty for my taste. The restaurant itself was way too dark. I saw some people bring our flashlights to see the menu. That was a first.
Extremely upset with my experience. The food was not good, the waiter (Brian) was great at pushing crap and it was a battle to just order what I want bc the waiter only tried to convince me to not order what I wanted, persisting that it was not enough food. Guess what, I couldn’t finish half of it and took it to a friend’s house.
We ordered this “special” steak Rare/medium-rare, the tomahawk. The plate is so hot it cooks the steak. Do not order this Tomahawk if you want a flavorful steak bc it’s a roast beef and not a steak. The sides are not impressive.
I will never go to this restaurant again in LA, New York or anywhere it is located, again.
Delicious food, very dark lighting though. The service was great.
Great meal and service. Pleasant live music too. Thank you!
It was a great New Year’s Eve dinner. Always a
Great dinner experience.
The service was extremely slow and unfortunately our server was very sick and was taking a long time to come around even to give us water we asked for them to open a bottle of wine and it took about 30 to 45 minutes. I ordered Alaskan King crab legs and when my order came out it was too tiny crab legs that were perhaps a quarter of a pound and I had to order a fillet to satiate my hunger level and our server eventually had to go home and the manager apologized - There were customers that were seated next to us and they ordered three cocktails before their appetizer came out so the manager came out to apologize it was a very bad experience and I have eaten at Mastro’s Ocean club Malibu Costa Mesa Ocean club in Scottsdale and on Camelback Road and this was by far the worst experience at Mastro’s restaurant I do not recommend Mastro’s at Beverly Hills. Very disappointing and very expensive for the value
What a lovely restaurant, the wait staff was awesome and the steak! Died and gone to heaven!!! Side dishes were nothing to write home about but the dessert, another winner.
Great for family and friends gathering.
