Mastro's Steakhouse - Beverly Hills
Book your next event with us
Dining room was too dark. The band, while quite good, was a tad loud. Outstanding food and service!!
The restaurant is awesome when you walk in. You definitely feel that it is an upscale establishment. It was the pictures and ratings that influenced our decision to go. The steak was much larger than I had anticipated. The Mac and Cheese is beautiful. Just like the pictures. However, the taste was bland. I asked my wife her opinion and she agreed. I also had a really bad experience with the Caesar salad. I know you wonder how could a salad be bad, but it was not tasty at all. The waiter did get me another salad, which was much better. All in all, this is a nice place. I would encourage you to verify your receipt/check against the price listed on the menu. I ordered the Chef’s special steak, which was $64 on the menu. However, they charged $72. We were annoyed but figured they were recovering for giving us a credit for the salad. Not sure I would try it again. Still a good looking place with large size steaks!
A friend of mine and I went after a movie (10pm restaurant reservation on a Saturday night). We were seated about 10 minutes after checking in with the hostess. Things took a turn for the worse once we were shown to our table. We were put in the corner of the basement/sub ground floor (behind the bar in the lobby). It took 15 minutes to get water and another 20 minutes before the manager of the restaurant came over apologizing for the long wait, saying they were really busy (at 10:30pm). Having already looked at the menu online, we knew what we wanted and figured we had better order while someone was at our table. We ordered with the manager and our food came 15 minutes later. We ordered Tuna sashimi, filet 8oz, green beans, and brussel sprouts (no drinks because of the bad service).
I've been to Mastro's a number of times and each time the service and atmosphere have been great. This time, there was a table of three 30-somethings sitting next to us watching YouTube on each of their phones so loudly that everyone around them was looking at each other wondering if the staff would say something to them. Needless to say after a long night, it felt like the kind of date night one would expect from an Applebee's....not Mastro's. Very disappointing.
Birthday dinner. Service wasn’t as attentive. Food was excellent all around. Ribeye, lobster mash, shoestring fris
Great Service!! Great waitors!! Food was delicious and worth every bite!! Will definitely be reserving a table again!! Make sure you are dressed up or they will not let you in.
Mastor’s Is 20 years old, but it has never lost its talent for delicious food. All the steaks are outstanding, but they also have a variety of fresh seafood, even sushi. For side dishes, you can’t beat the lobster mashed potatoes, the Gorgonzola Mac and cheese with bacon, and the creamed spinach. And you must have the warm butter cake for dessert- it’s my favorite dessert in LA.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations across the board. I almost hated to leave. I think my husband and I will definitely request the main dining area next time to absorb the entire music experience. Amazing job Mastro's Team. See you soon.
Awesome Experience! Will definitely return soon!!!
We love going to this restaurant . It was my adult son's birthday and I had mentioned to be put somewhere quiet and they put us a couple of tables down from the band. The food wasn't as good as last time but we still had a great night.
Not as good as the Scottsdale location. I think they’ve lost a step or two compared to other steak house options.
First time at Mastro’s for my birthday. The food was amazing albeit expensive. Definitely reccomend staying away from the Brussels sprout though - overcooked, soggy, and extremely bitter - not worth the price I paid. However, the lobster mash potatoes and creamed corn were amazing! I ordered the 16 oz NY strip. Great flavor and great texture - also made a good meal the day after too.
Service was okay. It took me a long time to flag someone down and our designated waiter would barely check in on us. He never asked to refill our water throughout the entire 2 hrs we were there. We are two younger girls so not sure if it was because of that did we not receive good service.
All in all, a good experience besides the service.
Mastro's is one of those places that appeals to a lot of different people. It's a place that doesn't have a scene per se. You'll see everyone and everything from business dinners, models, families, couples on a night out. It's dark in here - but that's the point. After 2 double martinis you feel like you're in your own world and then you realize you've been there for 3 hours. That's a beauty of Mastro's and what brings it from a 4 to a 5 star rating - and of course, the Butter Cake.
Delicious bone marrow butter on the rib eye. Kobe beef was outstanding! Service was superb
Food and service were excellent. Restaurant is noisy and more club like than a steakhouse. I’ll return for the food!
Overall the food was absolutely the best. I loved the family portions of the side dishes. Those came as a surprise; I actually thought the sides were per person, so when the waitress explained it was family... my happy to eat here meter registered a 10!
Best steak I’ve ever had.
And let’s not forget to mention the fenomenal service!
Lovely place to go for a date with that special someone or anniversary. Also, great for special gatherings for a large group of people (ex. friends, co-workers, family).
Only complaint is that the temperature was so cold in the dining room, that I couldn’t feel my feet.
Birthday. It was great. Room was a little too cold. Food excellent.
Let us wait 1 hour an new years eve we are regular guest never never more
We booked our New Year’s Eve dinner here, and told the restaurant we would be bringing our dog (our service animal). We’ve been here before and felt very welcome. This time the restaurant manager decided that our dog could not have any water, and aggressively told us he was not obligated to provide for him. We felt this was simply unnecessarily unwelcome and left, unfortunately ruining our NYE plans.
Mastro's Beverly Hills is a gem with popping DJ music on the third floor, live music with a piano and singer on the second floor, and quiet, more classic restaurant on the first floor. Always fun people watching, great for a romantic dinner, a birthday celebration, special occasion, group dinner, or just grab a drink. Only issue with this place is they consistently make you wait well past your reservation time (at least during prime time dining). Make sure to try the butter cake for dessert, their bread and butter, filet, sautéed shrimp appetizer (ask that it surely be piping hot), caesar salad, creamed corn, sautéed mushrooms, wild mushrooms with truffle, and if you're into it, a seafood tower.
Staff and food were amazing per usual. Perfect place to spend NYE at. Staff made the evening fun.
We went here for a New Year's eve, and overall it was wonderful. The filet was the best I'd ever had. My only complaint was that a live band was advertised for the steakhouse but it turned out to be only on the penthouse level
Love this place! You can’t get any better. Definitely go for a birthday. You’ll love it.
Food was fantastic, 5/5. The only issue I have is that the lighting is so dark that I have to switch on the light from my phone to actually see the menu. Other than that, everything is perfect: the server was great and helped selecting wines and recommending items on the menu. The steak, as always was 100% the best steak in SoCal :)
New Year’s Eve dinner
It was my birthday and NYE and the staff, food and ambiance made it so memorable. They were also very accommodating with my toddler!
Food was incredible and amazing service. We left in a good coma — we could not stop eating as it was all so good. Great experience and tons of fun!!!
Amazing food and service
Thanks very nice place
Always great food and service
Two issues to loud and the lights are to low
Very very surprised , hadn’t been in years
Service was horrific, would hesitate to recommend to others
The service was prompt.
I ordered a porterhouse rare plus charred on outside. The first steak was over cooked. I sent it back as the waiter saw it was cooked medium.
They brought out a second steak that was extremely fatty. I ate the second steak because I was really hungry at that point and didn’t feel like complaining again.
The first piece was a much better cut but unfortunately over cooked. The pretzel bread was the highlight of the evening once again.
One word AWESOME! Everything was absolutely amazing. David was our server and was on top of everything the entire evening. He didn’t allow us to over order, and did not at all rush us. Ask for David and have the true Mastro’s experience.
Food and service were great as always. I love the piano player as always. Unfortunately they had a woman singing who was just *terrible* and over the top. Kind of ruined the atmosphere.
Jerrod was our server and he was outstanding! He was attentive and paid attention to detail. He is an asset to Mastro's Steakhouse. My family and I enjoy celebrating and dining at Mastros.
We have dined at Mastro's Beverly Hills in the past, yet this time we were very disappointed. As we had our 12 and 14 year old boys with us, we were seated in a side room on the first floor (we called it the "riff-raff" room --- zero atmosphere and clearly not part of the Mastro's ambiance). When we asked about sitting in the other room, we were told it would be a long wait - code for it's not happening.
Second, we were served our cocktails which were clearly watered down. we questioned our waitress about it and were given new drinks, this time that actually contained the vodka and tequila we had asked for -- disgusting that we were not provided our proper drinks the first time.
Food was good, but at these prices the entire experience is relevant. This has turned us off and we will not dine at Mastro's Beverly Hills again. But i honestly don't think they care about our opinion, since we are not in the image/movie business.
Food and service amazing as usual here
