The relationship between Britain and Iraq has been somewhat fraught in recent years, but right in the heart of one of London’s most exclusive districts, there is a small corner of the capital that is doing something to change that for the better. Masgouf Restaurant have a few locations in London – and even one in Dubai – and have been bringing the very best in Iraqi and Middle Eastern cuisine to William Street in Belgravia with a menu that is filled with favourites from the region. Go for the mezze to start – they have cold and hot options – before picking something straight off the grill, and whether you’re into meat, seafood or vegetarian dishes, then you’re sure to be in for a treat. Book a table, however, as they do get busy and you wouldn’t want to miss out.

Fish was delicious but little bit dry. The menu wasn’t clear enough. Staff were friendly and helpful.
