We thought the food was authentic Spanish flavors and the service was spot on. We were also pleasantly surprised when they offered a local New Mexico wine which paired deliciously with our dinner. For us the highlight was the mushrooms and chorizo. Wow! Amazing!! If we are ever in Albuquerque we will definitely revisit

Overall, we had a good experience. The food and ambience were excellent. I observed the staff did not seem enthusiastic about their job. I know times are tough but a smile and welcome can go a long way.

My sister and I tried this place for the first time. We had the dates, scallops and bread plate. All were very good. For desert, we had the tres leches cake which was good except for overly sweet icing on top which I scraped off. Our server was awesome and the manager checked in on us as well. They gave us a huge booth which was nice. I do recommend staying away from the window in the winter. I draped my sweater over my shoulders with my back to the window and that made it perfectly comfortable.

Atmosphere was very nice but very cold. We were by the windows and there was a definite draft you could feel with hands. I ate dinner with jacket over my shoulders and no one even asked about it. Entree (risotto) and wedge salad were very good but appetizer was disappointing. Basically pieces of fried potato (no seasoning or flavors) with a very little bit of aioli on the side. Not even enough for tiny bit on 1/3 of potatoes. Would have requested more but no one was in sight. Some were pretty hard. Had to poke pretty good with fork. Finally just ate. Wouldn’t go back honestly.

MAS Tapas y Vino is a very nice, but fairly expensive place in Albuquerque. This restaurant has high aspirations but they are a bit hit and miss. Start with food. The food was very good and creative. The bread plate is the best $6 you can spend anywhere. The dates are phenomenal. The scallops and short rib were both solid but not perfect. The artichokes on the artichoke dish were cooked perfectly and there was a creative, pickled watermelon sauce but there was a bit too much of it. The drinks were solid and there is a creative wine list. We chose a corked bottle and did not send it back. We should have. That was our fault and may have colored the dinner a bit. The service is very uneven. We specifically asked how big the dishes were. The server said "Start with 4 tapas" and then get a main. 4 Tapas were HUGE and too much food taken together with the bread. So this was a miss. Then we specifically requested that the 4 tapas be spread out. She said "Two at a time". I said OK. So, of course, all the tapas and the bread all came out at the same time...and before the wine could even be served. This is simply maddening. So the nice dishes that were meant to be served warm, were cooling on the table while we waited for the wine and ate them in a proper order. Also - the restaurant was far from full and there was a sign at the host sign that said "Please wait to be seated". But no one was tending to people who showed up. All in all an uneven experience that I would ONLY be willing to repeat because of the dearth of options in Albuquerque. And really, only a few considerations, properly managed, and this place could be phenomenal.

My partner and I just moved to ABQ and wanted a nice dinner and date night out before our new jobs begin. Our experience here did not disappoint! All the food was delicious, the service was exceptional (from our server Ava to the host who showed us to our table and a manager who checked in with us), and I’ll be trying to recreate the cocktails at home..just sayin’… We’ll be back!

One of the best tapas experiences we have had anywhere. Portions were large for tapas so we only tried a few but the flavor was outstanding. Sangria was also different as the included orange juice in the wine which sweetened the taste. Recommend everyone to give it a try.

Arrived for our 6:15 reservation and informed our waitress that we had to depart by 7:30 for an event. We ordered 3 tapas, a lobster salad, a bread plate, and 2 entrees (Paella & Beef Fried Rice). We asked again if there would be enough time (one hour & 15 minutes) and our waitress assured us there would be ample time. There were only 2 other tables dining in the entire restaurant at the time so we felt confident. Our first 2 dishes (Brussels Sprouts & Patatas Bravas) didn’t hit the table til 6:55. They were delicious but a surprising wait so far. Perhaps it was because the chef was visiting the other two tables instead of in the kitchen. Or it could’ve been the other kitchen staff snapping photos of themselves instead of preparing dishes. 7:05 - the kitchen brings out a dish we had already received (a second Patatas Bravas). 7:10 - we ask our waitress what’s taking so long with our bread plate - it’s pretty simple … 4 points of bread, that aren’t even baked in-house, along with some butter. Come on. 7:15 - an hour after arriving - and the salad is just being delivered. Really? 7:25 - we need to leave in 5 minutes and we inform our waitress to skip the bread and box our entrees to go. She assures us the bread is just coming out and that the entrees are still taking a little bit. We offer our credit card to expedite the bill while patiently waiting for our entrees to be boxed. 7:35 - one hour and 15 minutes after ordering - our entrees FINALLY arrive and we’re departing late. The entrees we had to microwave later at home. Despite having 75 minutes to prepare, the beef fried rice was charred on the outside and undercooked inside. I had to throw it away. What a waste of $29. My wife’s Paella ($26) wasn’t great either reheated and she too ended up throwing it away. $55 total in the trash. We both really wanted to savor and enjoy MÁS Tapas y Vino but the pacing and overall experience left a bad taste in our mouths despite some tasty dishes and elegant plating.

Hotel Andaluz has one of the most stunning interiors in all of Albuquerque. The staff has obviously been carefully selected and make for the perfect venue for a meal and/or cocktails with special friends or family. The elegance of a bygone era is recaptured by all of the stunning renovations. Thank goodness the premises survived the wrecking balls that have removed all too many architectural treasures in the West. If you want to impress someone this is the place to take them. Just so many hidden treasures to explore beyond the restaurant MAS. You can tell the staff is proud to work there and such care is taken to preserve this special, special place. They even have a rooftop bar and lounge open Thurs-Saturday in the evening. Five stars isn't even enough for this absolutely amazing place!

Excellent waitress-friendly and knew the menu. She was very helpful in making decisions. We enjoyed sharing a selection of tapas-very tasty! We arrived relatively late in the evening, about 8:30, and the restaurant was clearing out, resulting in quiet, but full service environment and very enjoyable evening.

MAS was in the lobby of my hotel. Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque. I don’t know Albuquerque and the area had homeless in the area so wake ate at MAS because we didn’t have to go outside. MAS bills itself as a Tapas restaurant, but it cannot compare with a good Tapas restaurant in Barcelona. The best thing we had were the dates, filled with cheese , wrapped with bacon then grilled. The Stick Spare Ribs were meaty, but tasteless. We had two othe plates that I can’t remember. Overall it was average. The bartender made a Perfect Martini.

Service was great! Nikle martini also good. We had Caesar w/crispy lobster: too much cornmeal breading on 6 tiny bites of tasteless lobster. Brussel sprouts were tough and dry. Plantain tostones so disappointing as the Jamon Serrano was so overcooked, dry and difficult to chew served with barely any plantain that was over breaded, over cooked, dry and tasteless. I would never have known it was anything “plantain”. We ordered the Shrimp/chorizo dish but it never came. The carne egg roll was ok-more points for creativity in plating than taste or quality as meat super fatty and dry. Finished with the worst bread pudding ever. It was 4 (toasted to death) pieces with burnt choc chips, no walnut. The chocolate syrup was weak and definitely not a choc rum mousse as menu states. I asked server if Chef Quiñones was in the house. She said he hadn’t been there in over a week. Perhaps that was the problem? I was looking so forward to a fun, creative & exciting food experience knowing it wouldn’t be an inexpensive meal. I don’t plan to return.
