At Marlow we specialize in artisan style, neapolitan sourdough pizza, as well as locally sourced meats and vegetables. Our menu, space, and offerings change seasonally. We aim to bring you modern yet rustic meals to be shared. Chef/Owner Jeff Scheer and wife Kaili, have always loved to entertain at their home in Kula. The concept for the restaurant is an extension of that warm hospitality felt while sharing good food and wine around a table of family and friends. When the restaurant industry shut down in March of 2020, the pair began making sourdough pizza out of their outdoor oven at home. Milling whole wheat berries from a farm in Arizona, hand stretching mozzarella, whole-animal butchery, growing artichokes and summer squash for toppings - it was a true labor of love. What began as a ritual has grown into a restaurant. We look forward to seeing you at Marlow soon.

Executive chef: Jeff Scheer

From the OpenTable editors: Chef Jeff Scheer and his family started slinging sourdough pizza out of their backyard during the pandemic, before opening their first restaurant. Locals keep coming back for the simply excellent Neapolitan-style pies, fresh pappardelle, and woodfired veggies, all a labor of love that earned Scheer a James Beard nom for Best Chef in the region. It’s an open pizza kitchen decked out in black tiles and white marble, so you can watch the pies shuttling into the oven.

    Charged us 3% of BOH charge and the server could not explain what it was, and gave us bad attitude when we asked. Never see her smile at once for whole time we were there.

    Ralph took great care of us. The gnocchi was delish. The meatballs were fantastic. Pizza was legendary. I’ll be back for sure!

    It’s our favorite local place to dine in at with a friendly atmosphere and consistently great food and service. We dine here 2-3 a month and find it the perfect place for us to bring our out of town friends and family. We always see our neighbors, community and friends and it feels really special.

    They need air conditioning! The place was so hot we were sweating through our dinner, it was super uncomfortable.

    The restaurant is extremely loud and the food is definitely way overpriced. We ordered the vegetable of the day. It was a small radish cut into pieces with a few pistachios for close to $40.! It’s in a great location, but it’s definitely way too expensive.

    Hi Julie Yes its true, we have a concrete floor and high ceilings, which we have covered with sound panels as well as custom fabric panels through out the restaurant. When we are fully packed it is loud indeed and we will continue to try to improve the sound dynamics. As for the vegetable dish, the local "vegetable of the day" is on our menu for $17, not $40. These are locally grown Hakurei turnips and the dish does take quite a bit of prep for the roasted jalapeño and pistachio romesco. The cost reflects high quality organic ingredients and the labor it takes to execute.

    The meatball is mandatory. Side of mushrooms layered on the mushroom pizza is a close second. Olives to start. Salads are very fresh. It's all good!

    Excellent food and service. Favorites are the chopped salad, meatballs, braised pork pizza and olive oil ice cream. It can get quite noisy in there on a busy night.
