About Marcello's of New Orleans
Located in New Orleans at 715 St. Charles Avenue in an historic 1930"s building, MARCELLO'S Restaurant & Wine Bar is owned and operated by the Todaro Family.
With a passion for food and wine, our patriarch, Gene Todaro, Sr., arrived in New Orleans from Sicily in 1961 and, since then, has succeeded as both a wine merchant and restauranteur. Today, MARCELLO'S is the marriage of those two specialties. From Italian classics to modern chef creations, our menu is simple but robust. With our entire restaurant selection on display for guests to personally peruse, our wine program is unique throughout the city. In addition, competitive pricing distinguishes MARCELLO'S from traditional restaurant wine mark-ups.
At MARCELLO'S, you will experience gracious service, an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, excellent comfort cuisine and a competitively priced, comprehensive wine selection.

Marcello's of New Orleans Ratings and Reviews
Our 2nd visit was just as stellar as our first. Friendly servers who are not overbearing, but anticipate needs and make suggestions. Superb food; immediate table service with authentic Italian bread and olive oil. Choosing your own bottle of wine off the rack caters to individual presence. Not one complaint from any in our group. Warm, ambient atmosphere. Don’t miss this Nola gem.
Great waiter. Good wines by the glass and extensive selection of high end Italian wines. The grilled artichokes were good but I would have preferred fresh instead of brined. My wife’s lasagne was fantastic. I had the fish special which was a sautéed drum with puttanesca. Flavor was good but the fish serving was very thin and was completely overpowered by the sauce. Needs to be a much more substantial portion. Finished with a nice mascarpone cheesecake. Will return.
Nice restaurant with good food. But neither the food or the service was according the price. There are better places where you can get even better food and better service without paying that amount as at Marcellos. We had to wait for the wine and start eating with only water to drink. There was a big bug found on the Walking on the wall,,,,that was not removed from the restaurant, only thrown on the floor.
We love Marcello's! The food is so good, they have the best wine selection in the area, and their service is very personal and welcoming. Marcello's is a fine dining restaurant that somehow manages to pull off a bit of a casual vibe. This was our second time there and our waitress this time, Paulina, was excellent. She was very friendly, patient and informative, not to mention very fast. She recommended the Chicken Palermo and it was sooo delicious! We will start coming here more often for sure.
As always, Marcello’s did not disappoint! Our experience was above and beyond on this particular occasion because of the special of the night... chef created a crispy duck dish that was simply amazing!!!!
Thanks again Marcello’s for a wonderful meal and fanstastic service 😊
A group of 4 work friends lunched at Marcello's for a birthday lunch and the restaurant was great, as always. Although there were a few lunch specials on the menu, they have completely done away with a lunch menu. The menu is now the same for both lunch and dinner, which makes it too pricy for a work day lunch unless it's a special occasion.
Picky eaters are welcome here. We were visiting from California and a member of our group was not pleased with traditional New Orleans fare. After many tries we found Maracello's. Made a reservation on Open Table. Took an uber ride and were sitting at our table in 20 minutes.
Wife and I were on vacation and decided to try Italian food for a change on our last day in New Orleans. Our visit to Marcello's was great. Food and service were excellent and the wine selection was extensive and affordable.
Our bill for an appetizer, two entrees, and a bottle of wine ($59) came to $115 (excluding tip). We had our leftovers for breakfast the next morning prior to our departure. We'd definitely return to Marcello's. When you couple great food with great service, the odds that you will have a fulfilling
dining experience are pretty good.
My wife and I started out with an old fashion and a whiskey sour. Good start. Then on to the fritti squid and half of a meat and cheese board. Mussels and sweet potatoe soup for appetizers. We ordered the veal Palermo and I had the filet with shrimp. Both came with pasta. Great place, great service. A nicely designed restaurant with a great view out to the street. Great feel to the interiors. WIll go again in a heartbeat.
A group of 7 of us ate here on a Saturday evening. I made the reservation a little late and our group number changed 2 times and the restaurant was very accommodating. They also allowed half of us to be seated while we waited for the other half of our group. The sommelier was very helpful and knowedgeable! We were served house focccaia and olive oil while we waited for our food which was flavorful and delicious. The entree portions were large and filling. I highly recommend the chicken Palermo. we also ordered 2 desserts for the table which are made in house and even though everyone was extremely full at that point they were too good to pass up! Don’t skip out on the cherry bread pudding and raspberry ricotta pound cake. We will definietly be back to eat here again!
Went to Marcelo’s for my fiancé’s birthday and it was amazing!! I love that you can walk around and pick any wine from a particular region that you want. Additionally our waitress and very nice and attentive. She recommended the pork cheeks and ragu which definitely did not disappoint!!! At the end of the night she brought a little dessert with a candle in it to top off the evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Especially for special occasions as it is a bit more on the spendy side but it was definitely worth the money!
I wish ALL of the wines were listed on the menu instead of having to walk around and look at them all. A bit uncomfortable. The service wasn’t anything to be proud of. The server was very awkward, forgot my cup of ice, and only checked on us once about 2 mins into the meal. Didn’t offer to refill our wine glasses as they were empty. Pasta was over cooked but meat was great! I’d definitely go back to try more food. I hope I just got a bad server this 1 time.
Service was horrible. Not sure if they were understaffed or we were just not a priority.
I was served my dinner that was cold while we waited 10 minutes for husbands plate to come out of kitchen only to find it burnt to a blacken crisp on the bottom.
I expected great things from this little place and was extremely disappointed. We left without eating.
We did stumble upon Luke and were very impressed not only with the service but the food
