Marcello's of New Orleans
With a passion for food and wine, our patriarch, Gene Todaro, Sr., arrived in New Orleans from Sicily in 1961 and, since then, has succeeded as both a wine merchant and restauranteur. Today, MARCELLO'S is the marriage of those two specialties. From Italian classics to modern chef creations, our menu is simple but robust. With our entire restaurant selection on display for guests to personally peruse, our wine program is unique throughout the city. In addition, competitive pricing distinguishes MARCELLO'S from traditional restaurant wine mark-ups.
At MARCELLO'S, you will experience gracious service, an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, excellent comfort cuisine and a competitively priced, comprehensive wine selection.

Food was delicious! Chris, the waiter, was very knowledgeable and helped a lot. Would definitely come back next time we’re in New Orleans!
The food was good, but the service was very slow. We had to ask for our food to be served.
We always try to make this place when we’re in town for lunch. We love ❤️ their wine selection and love picking it! Food couldn’t be better!
Had a wonderful, relaxing evening at Marcello's with some excellent recommendations from the wine expert. All four of us enjoyed our meal and hope to come back when we visit New Orleans in the near future.
Wonderful food . You didn’t have Sauvignon Blanc though.
Everything was excellent! Food is a little pricy but so good! Waitress was phenomenal! I am vegan and she recommended several altered menu items as well as a pasta primavera. I went with the primavera and it was delicious!
Myself & fellow colleagues are in town for business, I have been to Italy 3 times , I must say that this restaurant rates high in my list!! The wine choices are fantastic, g
Great wine selection, prices very reasonable. Food was excellent!
Last day of a meeting in New Orleans and I thought some good Italian food would be an excellent way for my wife and I to close this trip. As an Italian American from NYC, I wasn’t expecting too much. My mistake. This meal was awesome. There is a difference between Italian-American food and Italian food. This was true Italian-American. And it was awesome. My veal scallopini was as good as I have ever had in Brooklyn. Artichokes, great. Out of clams, they made an awesome pasta with wonderful mussels. Fantastic cheese cake. If you love Italian food, this restaurant ranks with the best of the best.
Good food and great service by Justin.
Food was average. Veal was good but was topped with canned artichoke hearts. Calamari was good but not great
Great evening with family before the Pink concert. Loved it!
Unique environment where the wine list is the wines in the racks lining the walls! Great Italian food. Very attentive service. We always come to Marcello’s when we come to NOLA.
Chef was very accommodating with our dietary needs
Marcello’s offers phenomenal cuisine amidst a very attractive ambience. Service was fantastic, and drinks were perfectly mixed. Highly recommend!
Calamari and mussels appetizers to start were lovely. Everyone enjoyed their entree selections.
A late lunch turned Happy Hour was perfect for a light afternoon meal...the Guappo Chef Salad was wonderful and well portioned; the side of pan-fried Brussel Sprouts was both huge and delicious. The only disappointment was the Caprese, while good in quality was small in portion and odd in presentation—a jumbled pile of diced regular and halved cherry tomatoes over a small quartered wheel of mozzarella...not awful by any stretch—just missing something.
All in all our first visit begat a really wonderful discovery—we will be back very soon!
It was simply wonderful!
Excellent service via Justin! Excellent food and we will come back on our next visit,
The service and food were outstanding. Thank you to Justin for creating a fantastic dining experience!
Our waitress was incredible. Very attentive, great advice on pairings with the wine we chose. This is my favorite Italian place in New Orleans and it never disappoints. The bolognese is delicious. Would highly recommend trying this place and if you're a tourist asking the waitress where she recommends seeing on your trip as well.
We went back to Marcello's before an event and it was as good as I remember it. The appetizer was a little on the salty and spicy side, but still good. The entrees were really good so I recommend the pork cheek on polenta. Our waiter was great, and really on top of things, so we'll be back.
Our waitperson was friendly and accommodating, as was the chef. The end result was an excellent dish. We ordered the trout and paired it with zucchini noodles and vegetables. Highly recommend!
Always a Pleasure. Good food, great service, and one of the best wine experiences in New Orleans. Perusing the wines on racks with the help of knowledgeable and friendly staff is more satisfying than combing a bare list for inspiration. Plus there always seems to be something new to try. The food sometimes seems to complement the wine rather than the other way around but it all works and keeps us coming back.
This is the real deal for Italian food. When my husband and I returned from 3 weeks in southern Italy and Sicily, we headed to Marcello's for our first meal back in the States. It really hits the nail on the head. No thing compares. Outstanding.....
Was greeted with champagne to celebrate my birthday. Lovely touch.
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. Our server exceeded expectations in recognizing a birthday and also our anniversary during our visit, which was really unexpected. The food was well prepared and presented with more-than-adequate portions and was delicious. We will definitely return to this location as well as the one in Baton Rouge when returning home again.
To remind people that parking is crazy during Mardi Gras and to maybe Uber
The Chicken Parmesan was very good with linguine, but the Mario’s lasagne was tough, the noodles were hard in some of the plate, but the sauce was tasty. Overall good he meals were good and the service excellent.
Fantastic food with a great wine selection. Cute, quaint and perfect for a date night. Food was delicious and it was fun to pick it a bottle of wine from their large selection. We were visiting NOLA and stumbled upon this gem on Open Table. We highly recommend; one of the best Italian meals we’ve had.
Terrific delicious food. Great service. Sexy Italian ambience.
As a NYC native, I was hesitant to try New Orleans Italian. It was amazing! The service e was impeccable. I will dine at Marcellos the next time I'm in NOLA.
The wine selection is excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable. Great recommendations, great food, great experience.
Great food and service! The pork cheeks were amazing.
Excellent meal and wine offerings.
Food was excellent. Server very professional & attentive. Wine steward extremely knowledable. Only detriment which was not their fault was that their was construction in process directly in front of restaurant making it hard to find and get in. Very satisfied. Would definitely go again
The food and service are great. The menu is interesting and original.
If you love wine, you need to visit this restaurant. The staff encourages you to walk around and look at the collection. We selected a Chianti. The staff was helpful explaining the different menu items. The focaccia was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. We were there for a friend's birthday; the manager brought us cannoli. Great service and delicious food at a leisurely place. If in New Orleans, I would go again.
