Classic ski restaurant. Great atmosphere and food is great
A must visit.
We had a great waiter who was very helpful. Our spicy margaritas and manhattans were tasty. We really had our eye on a boneless ribeye and ordered it, but much to our dismay, they were out of them. Nonetheless, our waiter suggested we get the Steak Saltago which was quite tasty. The brussel sprouts were awesome! We finished off dinner with a hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. It was a great dinner especially in Covid times. We were pleased that the seating was socially distant and that everyone was required to have a mask.
Lots of Knick-knacks ala Cracker Barrel.
Food was ok but ski resort over priced.
I don’t like the automatic 20% tip. Misses the point of a tip.
Great experience and quality food for the price! Service wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible.
Great service and just good ol bar food. We enjoyed our margaritas both spicy and regular. We had a fun time
Cold air blowing on us made it a little uncomfortable.
Bison prime with huckleberry so delicious! And on honeymoon from North Carolina!
We waited 30 minutes to get a drink order taken. Our server would seldom come to the table. I can deal with a poor server and I know that sometimes bad employees happen to good places. BUT my problem is at tip time the server brought our party of 4 (no we weren’t with other people and part of a larger party- it was literally just 4 of us!) our check and said “I already added on my 20% 🤬”. When we questioned this we learned it was a restaurant policy! 😡😡😡
This to me explained why our service was terrible! I believe in tipping and tipping well! But not when it’s not earned!
Reservation was at 4:30 but that is not dinner. There was no mention of the fact that the dinner menu wasn’t available until 5:30. We wanted steak but were given a glorified bar menu. We had an app and waited until 5:30 for dinner. Service sucks because there is an automatic 20% gratuity and the servers know they don’t have to work for it. Prime rib arrived cold and swimming is a plate of juice. My husband ordered a beer and 20 minutes later as we were finished eating he was brought his beer.
The waiter made our dining experience! The elk chili was one of our table’s favs!
Anniversary dinner and it was fantastic! Everything was great!
Atmosphere and service were good. Food was mediocre at best.
Prime rib and mashed potatoes were top notch! Patio dining is enjoyable.
Ran out of prime rib which was a bummer and closed to desserts except one by the time we got to dessert. Otherwise would go again but earlier in the evening.
We were on vacation. It was good. Not a lot of options
We looked forward to eating at the Mangy Moose for 2 years. It did not disappoint. The prime rib is outstanding.
Fantastic food and service was great after the first few minutes. We came in with a rush so a little delay was understandable. We sat on the porch which was really lovely.
We ate at the restaurant vs. the saloon. Decor was fun and unique. Flavor of dishes was fair especially considering price. Not high on our list to repeat.
Super interesting atmosphere with great food at good value.
Great atmosphere, good service but food was so-so.
Excellent as always. There's a reason why we make sure to go here when we're in Jackson.
The service was poor and inattentive
The food was bad
We were overcharged for drinks and they refused to correct the mistake
I will never go back
Hi Peter, I have looked over your check, can you let me know what drinks you believe you were overcharged for? What about the bison meatloaf and salad did you dislike? Thank you for your feedback.
Bad evening to go. Must have been overcrowded. Service was very inattentive Took 45 minutes for our salads to arrive and then a long time for entries two of which were cold. Then long to get the bill. Generally a long unsatisfactory evening for a place we previously enjoyed.
Avoid the restaurant. We asked for our appetizers to come first then our salads then our meal. They brought out appetizers and salads at the same time. Then before we had taken a bite they brought the steaks. We had to tell them to put the meals under the heat lamps so we could eat the apps and salads. The food especially the prime rib and hamburgers were awful. Plus they were sold out of the first 3 bottles of wine which I asked for. .
Avoid at all costs
The Moose has it all. Truly part of the JH experience. A super place.
We were there on vacation. It has a great location and the food is very good.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is terrific. We were seated upstairs near a horseshoe-shaped balcony that looks over the first floor, so it was very open and nice. The service was excellent and though it was a busy holiday weekend we were seated promptly once we arrived for our reservation. Food and service were excellent.
The service was great we got there early and the waiter sat us 30 minutes before our reservation and was really nice about it ! I had a very nice time and would definitely come back !
Very good prices for a ski town. Food was very plain and not flavorful. Best part of the dinner was bread.
Great atmosphere, food and waiter. Awesome ski town vibe. Definitely recommend and will return
We had made a reservation far in advance and they gave us a terrible table right inside the door. Followed by poor service which included getting drinks and missing items that were ordered. Soup and broccoli came cold, Budda bowl was missing chicken and was dry, but the ribs were delicious!!!
Terrible service from start to finish.

Busy place during ski season. Table next to the kitchen. Noisy but service was very good. Food good but not gourmet quality to be sure. Fun but not fine dining!
It is a box of chocolates. We were there last night and had an outstanding dinner and good service. Have been coming here for many years and it is luck of the draw if you catch them on a good night or not. Our kids like the atmosphere and we like the walk to location. To the other reviewers' points, service is all over the board but the food is generally pretty good. We seem to have better luck when we dine early.
Over priced relative to portion size. Split plate add on price not worth the cost given the tiny portions. Fish and chips portion look like it came from a minnow farm and roasted chicken quarter came from a quail.
In Jackson for a few days from the east coast. Made a reservation here and it was awful. $150 meal for 4 people. Meals were small. Food was bad. Order was wrong. Food was cold. Didn’t even ask us for drinks. Put us in front of the stairs. Had to move bc ppl kept bumping into us. Asked for chicken, got fish. Everyone else finished the meal but mine was still being cooked since it was wrong. So disappointed. Wanted this to be a good meal during my short stay w my friends that just flew in and were tired and starving.

Tequila was very good.
The Moose has been a favorite of the family for 30 + years. It has gradually increased in price over time but now it is expensive and not as lively as it was. It used to be a fun local after ski area but the restaurant has lost its luster. The bar is still a fun spot.
Perfect after ski food in a local low key ambiance. Cesear salad real fresh ! We go to Mangy Moose every time we are in Teton Village.
