Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate a birthday! All the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. My only comments would be that my dish was so savory that I was unable to finish it, perhaps a little to strong and salty for me. It was a delightful dish, just a bummer it was too salty to finish. Also the sanitation rating when we went was 91.2 which quite a bit lower than I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. Outside of that I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Over 1 hour before food arrived. Very limited menu. Great steak (tell them not to put the fish seaweed butter on the steak!!!!) Excellent service.

We really enjoy brunch at the Mandolin. The service is good and the food is outstanding! Best brunch in Raleigh if you ask my opinion. The ambience is nice also. It was crowded, and we did not get a booth seat like we had requested but instead a small table for two along the sectioned area. At first I was hesitant on if I would like the seat but it worked out very nicely and gave us a good view of the restaurant. Again, the food here is outstanding!

We’ve eaten at this restaurant many times it had many wonderful experiences. In this case our 32 inch steak was overcooked unfortunately had to send it back and the replacement steak also came back overcooked. Again, we’ve had many good experiences just not this one

Great experience and wonderful service. Been to Mandolin a couple time before and the food keeps getting better. We had the chicken and dumplings and the pork chop. For an app we had the pork belly. All was tops. Thanks you for taking pride in quality. We will be back.

Pork chop was juicy and tender and cooked perfectly! Panzanella salad is a great starter,! The skillet cornbread is delicious and the restaurant giving part of the proceeds to help feed those in need is over the top! The chocolate soufflé is really special . Our server was professional , knowledgeably guided us through ordering and very attentive! Look forward to a repeat visit!

Not an extensive menu but everything on it is incredible. The cornbread was in a hot skillet and it was perfect. I had the fish (amberjack) and it was cooked to perfection! The pineapple cheesecake was creative, fun and a huge treat! Lots of great wines available, too. Awesome staff, we had a great evening!

Our first time to Mandolin for brunch yesterday and it was overall a fantastic experience! The service was top notch and our meals (I had the Eggs Benedict and my husband The Country Breakfast) were fresh, hot and perfectly cooked. The free squeezed orange juice and biscuits with Blackberry jam were also tasty and fresh! We will be back for dinner within the next week or so and looking forward to our next brunch! Sixth time eating here and the magic is dwindling. The cocktails were delicious. Food was okay, but generally bland. Cornbread was overcooked to nearly burned. Pork belly was fine. Chicken and waffles were bland with overcooked waffles on both the orders that came to the table. Chicken and dumplings were also bland. The ribeye was good as expected but not worth the $100 for market price. I don’t think we’ll go back.

Food was outstanding! Luke was our server he was knowledgeable , helpful, professional! The catch the day was Red Drum was prepared perfectly! Popcorn Bisque was unique , rich and flavorful ! Want to try it again!!! Apple crisp was served warm and really wonderful! A wonderful evening!

We had the pork belly first course and it was OK to Good. It was very tough to cut, and we only had our dinner knives to cut it with. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was extremely bland with no seasoning. The waffle was whole-grain and tasted like cardboard. The only way to really eat it was to eat it all together with the collard greens so you had some kind of sweetness to go with it. the gnocchi chicken and dumplings were excellent. We got the apple pie with ice cream. The apple pie was honestly pretty bland and came with 2 tablespoons scoops of ice cream. Our waiter never came to check on us only to bring us more food. We’ve gone several times, and I think this was the least impressive experience I think if you’re looking for good food, the best place to sit at the bar and if you want some kind of foodie experience you should eat in the dining area.

I’ve been to Mandolin several times over the past couple of years, and find that when they focus on simple flavors and elegant presentation, they are at their best. Sometimes they err on the side of relying on innovative concepts using ingredients that don’t deliver as good of a flavor. I really want to love Mandolin, it’s a great atmosphere with friendly, professional service.

This was our 1st time and we went to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. I have no complaints about brunch. Service was quick and courteous. I would go back but for dinner this time.

This was one of our favorite places to eat, however tonight was disappointing. We had the pork chop and the chicken and dumplings. The chicken and dumplings were non-traditional but very flavorful. However, the pork chop although well prepared, had little to no flavor. There was so much they could have done with that nicely prepared chop. The drinks were thin and although the wait time for the food was longer than usual, we understood since there were new people in the kitchen. Lastly, they had a special cornbread that benefited a local charitable organization. It was delish. A tad sweet, which may not appeal to some southerners, but I really liked it. Service was good under the circumstances and the environment was inviting as usual. Maybe next time when it’s warm we’ll sit outside.

I do not recommend the brunch menu at Mandolin. Our drinks were great, but the food was not what I expect from Mandolin having had dinner there before. The potatoes were undercooked, the bacon portion was tiny, and the toast was dry and served without any jam or jelly. I will not be going back for any meal other than dinner any time soon.

Some dishes were fantastic and others were flavorless (chicken n dumplin’s had zero flavor, even in the herbed gnocchi and we had to ask for salt). Fall pasta was excellent, but I’d warn people it has quite a quick from the red pepper. Panzanella salad was great, pork belly was good and sweet potato soup was good. Chicken n waffles was better on previous visits. Cornbread is reliable as always. Service was excellent (I think his name was Michael, curly brown hair). Drinks were fine (missed calls and the amaro) but seemed a little high in price.

Waiter was pleasant but did not notify us of two cocktail specials. (We heard him telling the adjacent table about these specials after we had finished our meal.) Waiter also declined to notify us that there would be a soufflé on the dessert menu that would require a 25 minute preparation time. The smallest size steak was 16 ounces (without the bone).
