Mamilla
Great food and service. It is too dark in there to see what you're eating, that is the only negative.
Service was so horrible that we had to leave. We had dinner reservations for 2 and when we arrived, the tall blond hostess told us to seat at the table and said that they don’t have any menus for us. The table right next to us was set up for a party of 10 people who have not arrived yet and there were menus right next to each plate ( that’s for guests who were not even there!). Then 2 ladies walked in after us and were seated at a table for 2, they were given menus right away and while we were still waiting for our menus for almost 20 minutes, 2 waiters came to them and took their orders. At that point we got up, explained the situation to another hostess (a guy) who did not seem to care but apologized and asked for the name on reservation, so they can scratch it and give this table to someone else. We’ve been to all kinds of restaurants in LA and NEVER had that bad of an experience. This place does not deserve even 1 star.
Too dark. I needed to use my phone flashlight. People were sitted very close to us while the restaurant was empty.
Fabulous kosher restaurant. Great service. Do NOT miss the cauliflower appetizer, rib steak, burgers, desert. Highest recommendation. NB: We went on a quiet week night.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Music is a little loud. But overall was excellent service.
I was there for New Year’s eve and there was a great ambiance and really nice appetizers. Even though the restaurant was packed the waitresses did a really great job of getting us exactly what we needed and overall I think it was a great experience. Will definitely be going back
Food was great! Service was great we enjoyed the place and the atmosphere very much. We will be coming back.
Good morning,
We ordered hamburgers and in almost every bite we felt a little bone that we took it out from our mouth and put it on the side.
We didn’t want to complain it was my birthday and we didn’t want to get in that situation. 3 of the hamburgers we didn’t enjoy.
Service was great food arrived on time and was tasty. The desserts are excelent
Very pleased by the menu as the food was excellent. The noise level was a bit loud, which is great for a night out with friends, but not great for an intimate date night. Despite the noise, I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I loved that there was a table setup with balloons for us. The service and food was great. The music was a bit too loud for my liking but that’s the only negative.
Great Israeli food and great live music. Loved it!!!
Couldn’t hear each other think it was so loud. At 6:00 a band started to warm up to the already loud ambient music. Live music at 6:30 when there was no one at the Bar. Essays to early peeps. 6:00 - 8:00 is family hour. Most bands kick in around the 10:00 hour. The food was very good, the wait staff very polite and helpful. The noise factor made it a one time try.
Thank you for your honest and critical review of our restaurant! We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and service. We do apologize for the inconvenience that our music performance may have caused you. Generally, our live music performances start at 8:30, however, we were featuring an earlier performance since November 10th was our grand re-opening party. We do assure you that the noise level throughout the week (from 5-8) is very modest and inviting!
Birthday Celebration
Super tasteful, friendly staff, beautiful ambiance.
Everything about this restaurant was fantastic! Mamilla is a unique experience In the LA kosher dining scene. It has great ambience, service and food. Great choice both for dining with friends and business colleagues. I had out of town guests who would normally not be going to a kosher restaurant but were very impressed with Mamilla. The food portions are large and the specialty cocktails are exotically satisfying! I would highly recommend Mamilla.
Big portions! Food is very good. Service is friendly. The owner came by and ensured satisfaction. Good atmosphere and a nice crowd.
They change tagines every day and each one has been better than the last. Service is wonderful and great ambiance. The egg roll dish is exceptional and so is the cauliflower. Pineapple dessert is beautiful presentation but just okay. I would eat here every night.
Best kosher food ever. We were group of six people and we all agree that it was a great food
Must try the mushroom appetizer. Good size portions . Great tasting food.
Everyone was so kind, sweet and generous and it just made the whole evening, along with the great food, that much more enjoyable! Thank you so much!!
Great job! This restaurant has come a very long way. Very approachable and terrific food with a great ambience! Would recommend to anyone for a great night out. Looking forward to going back
We loved the food and excellent service! Very creative cuisine and so delicious! Our server was very sweet and her recommendations were excellent!
Everything was great! The food was amazing and it served in really nice way
The service was professional and kind
And it’s K O S H E R ! ! !
Highly recommended!
Great place! We loved the mousse dessert! Staff was great and the food came lightening fast!
We went here for my wife's birthday and the food and staff were amazing ( Dana).
Great food experience amazing chef. Great service I would definitely come again.
While the food and ambience was good the menu selections or a very limited and extremely overpriced. We did not appreciate the extra 8% added above and beyond gratuities due to minimum wage hikes especially considering the price of the menu items. If each item was 10 to $15 less we would come back regularly but at this rate it would be a one time special occasion night out.
For the price I expected excellent food. The appetizers were good, however the entrees were so bland. 3 out of the 4 diners thought that their food was fine but needed salt and spices. The 4th actually sent the pulled beef sandwich back. We had never sent food back in our life, but not only was there absolutely no taste to the beef but it tasted off. The server was very sweet and attentive. The prices were outrageous. We are used to prices in kosher restaurants but this... and the food did not warrant it.
Food was delicious! Overpriced for the venue. It’s casual dining with 5 star prices.
FANTASTIC ALL AROUND!!! I would recommend this restaurant all day long.
We had high hopes and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The servers tried so hard to make us happy and we appreciated the decor and spacious tables/atmosphere.
The Short Rib was inedible as it had more than 90% fat. The steak comprised two small strips for $69? Limited entree selection. This is meant to be constructive so I hope you learn from our experience.
Ambience was very good. Background music so good that 3 out 4 in our party wanted to get up and dance. The service and food 4 out 5.
Everyone’s biggest complaint were the overpriced menu items. I mean really $55 for a burger?
In spite of the many truly good features mentioned in the beginning, ultimately the exorbitant Menu prices give this establishment a big thumbs down.
Food was good. Select items were too spicy. Geared more toward adult pallet, not much for kids. Desserts were all good.
Techno music was TOO LOUD and obnoxious!
Hoping they work out kinks.
Our meals were delicious. The renovations to the Osher space are lovely and welcoming. As a party of 5 we enjoyed the pulled beef, short ribs , sea bass & rib eye . We enjoyed the cauliflower & sweet potato appetizers We dine out for a nice/finer meal at least once a week but the price point here is exceedingly high precluding us from dining here routinely. $125/person for a weekday dinner is excessive. We look forward to returning but sadly not as often as we would like. In addition an 8% administrative fee is added to the bill with virtually no explanation. How can we possibly offer the server 20% above that? We truly want Mamilla to survive as we appreciate the finer dining & hope some adjustments will be made.
We thought the price was high for the amount of food offered but everything else was excellent.
ok first thing is the food was really good and creative. but there were things i had to mention. they served what was called a hamburger (really pulled beef) on a bun with 5 potato chips. that is just too skimpy on the side dish. And when someone asked for ketchup, they were told the chef does not allow it. That is just nuts. Some people just love ketchup and saying no to ketchup is rude and pretentious.
the 8% surcharge is too untasteful. it borders on obnoxious. Especially since the prices are literally 80% higher than any other comparable restaurant. I paid it but was not happy to have done so. so leaving a bad taste in my mouth after such a good meal is just not an outcome i think is sensible.
Excellent addition to Los Angeles kosher scene. Great service, food was delicious, tables are not too close together, and inviting ambiance.
We had cauliflower appetizer, heirloom tomato salad which was gently and tasty and sweet potato which was wonderful, white fish fillet which was superbly done and halva chocolate desert which was ok. In general desert menu is always a weak spot in kosher establishments and would be great to see if Mamilla can change that.
We will definitely be back.
The Ambiance is great and the staff are wonderful. The moment I walked in the host greeted me warmly and immediately showed me to my table. The food took a bit of time to arrive but when it did it was very tasty. While waiting for the food to arrive they had given us a fresh bread roll with a diverse array of Mediterranean dips and complimentary tuna tartare. The tables are spaced out so you’re not rubbing shoulders with your neighbors and the decor was beautiful. I would recommend this place and would come again!
