Mamma Silvia’s Italian Kitchen
Pricey for the plate. Service was great and restaurant was very nice.
Everyone was very friendly. Jordan gave great recommendations! We definitely enjoyed our experience!
This was our second experience at Mama Sylvia's and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The food is authentic and prepared beautifully! Our server was lovely and we will certainly be coming back again.
The staff was friendly and genuine as they presented us with delicious ravioli and lasagna! The Perino was cold and the bread warm...perfect. Thank you
Interesting set up, the restaurant is actually two different places that share the same drink and dessert menus. One being the Italian and the other a Sushi/Steakhouse. The tables for 2 are teeny tiny and we were sat right next to the open kitchen/passway between the two sides, so a high traffic area for the staff. Complementary bread with a garlic herb topping was ok, not much flavor and the ice cold butter served with it didn't add much. Dinners were ok (pasta dishes), nothing remarkable and the "ginger" creme brulee had zero ginger flavor at all, so that was very disappointing.
The food was amazing! The chef came to our table and asked how our food was which made it even more special. Everything was fresh and AMAZING!!
Thank you so much for the excellent food wine and service on Friday night. We will be back!
Good food, good service, walked out full and satisfied, not easy todo in Durango anymore, good restaurant have closed, will be back often
Not your tourist trap restaurant near the Main Street. One of the best meals we enjoyed on our week long vacation. Fresh ingredients, nice presentation and the food was hot.
They make their own bread and Pasta from what I understand. The bread was worth returning for, and I don’t normally eat the bread left at the table! The pasta and flavors are wonderful! I love this local gem!
Delicious food and service.
We've been here several times and food is always great. Haven't found anything sub-par yet.
Aurora, our server, took great care of us and I'm pretty sure it was with a smile under that mask.
enjoyed the personal touches, wait staff, manager all seemed happy we were there. We are looking for a "favorite" spot" and this may be it.
Please be aware!!! This restaurant is NOT handicap accessible. Went to dinner for my birthday to meet my dad and his girlfriend. She has MS and cannot get around without her wheelchair. This was very challenging for us to get her in the restaurant, as there are steps to get in and it’s a tight squeeze to get the wheelchair through the door and the bathrooms are upstairs. If anyone has difficulty walking DO NOT go here.
The food was exceptional as usual, and the service outstanding.
Food and service was excellent. Ambiance was just fine. Only complaint was I asked to SUBSTITUTE pasta for potatoes and veggies with my Marsala. They did but my Substitute pasta costs me 6 bucks extra. Did not get potatoes or veggies. Felt a little ripped.
The meal we had last night was one of the best we have had in town. The squash bloom appetizer was amazing. Love having dinner here.
Warm bread with roasted garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar were served after we were seated. Their lasagna sauce combines the best of both worlds marinara and Alfredo. The lobster ravioli in a lobster cream sauce is rich and indulgent. The veal piccata was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the sauce was amazing with the lemony flavors accompanied by the briny capers, onions and mushrooms. For dessert we indulged in the ginger cream brûlée with strawberries. We shared and even though I was stuffed I could have eaten an entire brûlée by myself it was so delicious.
Great food and excellent service
Great place! Hope they survive the Virus!! We will return to try to help.
Both food and service was excellent. Best meal in Durango by far, would highly recommend.
We had an excellent waitress. Love their food as we are regulars. I was very comfortable with the separated seating.
Delicious meal and great service.
Great food and perfect atmosphere
Our waitress was excellent. She was knowledgeable but not pushy and very hospitable.
I love Italian food and I think this is the best Italian restaurant in Durango. My girlfriend's and my dinners were good, but the only negative is that the mussels meat were very small, but tasty.
Birthday. Included that info to restaurant. No response no big deal. First time there was what brought us back. However the quality etc was remiss this time around. Burned lasagna and no second glass of wine. Coffee came out after last bite of dessert. It was a Sunday evening. Head chef had a day off? Shrug. Just one of those times? We’ll go back one more time. With expectations lowered. Maybe it’ll be better next time. Not even sure if the owner was in. At least I had a semi decent veal parmigiana.
Very friendly and attentive staff, authentic and delicious Italian cuisine that's artfully presented.
It was our first time to Mamma Silvia's Italian Kitchen. My husband and I live here and we had a visitng friend - a performer with the San Juan Symphony.
We went to dinner early after the Sunday matinee performance, with a reservation. I was surprised by how full the restaurant was, but it is small and quickly filled.
The salads were wonderful - fresh and creative. The entrees were delicious. And dessert was a beauty!
Our server was Jordan, who was attentive without being intrusive.
We VERY much enjoyed our dining experience. And we will be back!
The menu has a wide variety of choices, and the dishes that we ordered were excellent. Pricing was mid range. Fairly nice wine list with some inexpensive choices. Service was a little rough at times, and most servers know that a gin and tonic should have a lime in it and not two olives. Probably just lack of experience.
We have been to Mamma Silvia's several times now. Consistently very, very good. The staff is great. Portions are perfect. Highly recommend.
Excellent Italian food has come to Durango! Roasted garlic to start, then a chicken parm dinner that was crispy on the outside with a tasty tomato sauce. Baked Tortellini dish was very filling and quite tasty. Our new favorite place!
I had the smallest 12 dollar glass of wine I've ever seen
Best Italian food we have had in the area. Will he back.
The atmosphere is quiet with low lights. The food is delicious and not too big portions. Service was friendly and helpful.
Excellent food and friendly, attentive service. One of the more expensive Durango restaurants, but worth it.
Yes, but, portions were small and pricey. Salad came almost after my dinner. They didn't charge us, but did ask if I still wanted it. Service was fair. Forgot salad and forgot when asked for a little more bread. It was not very busy. Also cleared table before everyone was done eating!
