Mamma Silvia’s Italian Kitchen
Excellent Italian food has come to Durango! Roasted garlic to start, then a chicken parm dinner that was crispy on the outside with a tasty tomato sauce. Baked Tortellini dish was very filling and quite tasty. Our new favorite place!
I had the smallest 12 dollar glass of wine I've ever seen
Best Italian food we have had in the area. Will he back.
The atmosphere is quiet with low lights. The food is delicious and not too big portions. Service was friendly and helpful.
Excellent food and friendly, attentive service. One of the more expensive Durango restaurants, but worth it.
Yes, but, portions were small and pricey. Salad came almost after my dinner. They didn't charge us, but did ask if I still wanted it. Service was fair. Forgot salad and forgot when asked for a little more bread. It was not very busy. Also cleared table before everyone was done eating!
Food is really good. Service always excellent. Love this little place. Has become our go-to Italian restaurant here in Durango since Guidos closed.
Colton was our server and was very courteous and helpful. We will enjoy coming again.
The staff is great!
The food is always excellent.
Portion size was a little small.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. The food was great and service, too!
Great customer service and food. We will definitely be back!
We had a great experience! The Gorgonzola steak was tender, perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. I got the herb potatoes which were also delicious, but am excited to try the polenta next time. Lasagna was the special for the night and 2 friends ordered it. Oddly, the lasagna did not have any noodles; rather, bread in place of. They loved it! Our fourth friend ordered the cheese tortellini dish and it was fantastic also. Our desserts were the best. The cheesecake was coated sort of like a creme brulee topping, but very delicate and wonderful with a light crunch. We have discovered a new restaurant that will be one of our "regulars" now. Highly recommend!
Never disappointed when we visit. Wish they had a more extensive wine list and would ask for different pasta with my Carbonara-they were like sons noodles-would prefer something less bulky. The mussels are great and the veal were great! Server and manager were friendly. Will definitely be back! Thankful to have good Italian food in Durango!
Food was great, service was great, but the tables are so close together you cannot have a good conversation with your party.
The barrata caprese is the best thing on the menu My husband loves the osso bucco. But
$17 for an ordinary Manhattan is outrageous.
We were very pleased with our initial experience at mamma silvia's. I had the 'special' which was pumpkin ravioli in a sage butter sauce. it was extremely good. My husband had a "regular" dish or penne with sausage and eggplant and it was also incredibly good. We think it is much better than the other italian restaurant in town, which we used to like a great deal, but which more recently, seems to be 'going through the motions'. We do not understand some of the negative reviews posted here about Mamma Silvia's - although it is always possible the kitchen had an off-nite. We fully intend to return and have no reservations about recommending Mamma Silvia's to a friend.
I ordered the spaghetti al pesto (I think that's the right spelling). It was delicious. The only critique I would have is that some of the sun dried tomatoes were a little tough. When I use sun dried tomatoes, I let them soak in hot water until they're softened.
Delicious food. Great service. We look forward to returning.
Food was absolutely fantastic. Service good, expect a bit of a wait although worth it! The food was the best true Italian cuisine I have experienced in Durango. Far exceeds other choices. Made to order, super fresh. In my opinion, the food is so good it deserves a better ambiance/building. Feels crowded, was a bit drafty and cold where we were seated directly in front of cooking station. Lots of activity in that particular spot with servers going back and forth from restaurant next door. Hallways and bathrooms were in need of repair. Other than that, all is worth it!
Soooo good. I haven’t ordered anything but the chicken Parmesan because it’s great, but every other person I’ve been there with has enjoyed their entrees.
Have always had great meals and service ..
Feels like your in an Italian home with Mama and her sons.
Monday night 6 of us ordered differently, and all of us had a bad experience. The ‘A’ team was not there and all the dishes were salty beyond words. service was slow and confusing.
I always get the seafood dishes and they are always Awesome!!
I tried the eggplant this time and it was Fabulous!
Get the bruschetta with the tuna!! It’s to die for!!
We dined at East by Southwest the night before going to this restaurant. When I saw the wine list it was the same list from East by Southwest which was right next door. I asked the waiter why this was so and he told me both restaurants were owned by the same owner. My wife and I left immediately. If you want to know why, see my review of East by Southwest.
Good italian food and service. My family all really enjoyed everything they had! We would definitely go again!
Had dinner recently visiting from Denver. Our meal was outstanding, especially the Osso Buco. Perfectly prepared and served with a crispy polenta cake that complemented the lamb and reduction perfectly. Very affordable and their wine list is filled with great Italian values. Also had the pleasure of speaking with one of the owners, Hydi Verduzco. The quality and great customer experience was very evident by their delivering with a true passion for the food and customer. Don't miss and make a reservation although they have bar seating (and a great bar tending staff!)
The restaurant was okay, food was okay, we weren't offered bread with our pasta, which seemed odd.. Our waitress was distracted by a "more important" table.
Really great meal and nice addition to Durango
Service was good. My dish was barley warm when I got it. It was very small and one of the most expensive on the menu. Just expected better for the price.
The food is delicious! It reminds me of the wonderful Italian restaurants in Boston’s Little Italy area. There are only 11 tables plus seating at the bar, so I highly recommend making a reservation.
Great home style comfort food.
With the family waiting on you and serving you with fresh specials and recommendations,
it felt like we were in Italy with the “family”.
My long-held position is that there was no authentic Italian cuisine west of Chicago until you hit the west coast. That has all changed with the June 2019 opening of Mamma Silvia's in Durango ... absolutely magnifico in all respects!
The food was wonderful and very reasonable. Great flavors! Good service. We will be back!
This was my fourth time eating here and I have had a great meal each time. Wheather it is pasta or not, the food has been outstanding. The only fault that I have found is that I feel rushed each time with the servers, taking the order, getting your beverages, etc. I always have to ask for the specials and there are always specials. I am usually there with women and I think they just want to move us through the process and turn the tables. It's a rushed feeling and then you feel forgotten. There needs to be a happy medium, as it is delightful and a go to for sure!!
They make their own pasta and even GF pasta! Their GF options are the best I’ve seen in any Italian Restaurant. The Lobster ravioli is amazing and so soft, it’s a texture of pleasure! We had the sea bass too, that was perfectly cooked and a large portion. Wonderful place, highly recommended.
Food was over salted to the point it could it be eaten. Until they straighten out the kitchen I will not be back
Our server was Jenny. She was excellent. My dinner companion was 45 minutes late and she was very gracious about it. Food was good although the spaghetti was a little spicy for my taste. Will come again.
Best Italian food in Durango!!
Server never told us specials, and appeared distracted.
First time and food was great. Chicken marsala very tasty and my husband had mussels in a soup and Bolognese which was excellent. My only suggestion is to get better bread and serve it warm
Italian food made the way it is prepared in northern Italy
