   Perfect brunch place with so many chef made options! The dishes are very tasty, service was excellent, place was spotless! Will be returning soon.

   The place wasn’t even open for our reservation time. Worker came out and said their kitchen was still starting up. Didn’t even offer to let us in. Terrible for Mothers Day. And they delete truthful comments on their social media page. We ended up dining somewhere else.

   We were excited to try Magdalena, a newly opened spot in Anaheim, before heading to an Angels game with our party of four (two adults and two kids). Unfortunately, despite some menu highlights, the overall experience left a lot to be desired—especially given the price point. We parked in what we were told was the designated area for customers, only to be informed by our server after sitting down that we needed to move our car because the spaces were being held for valet before the game. It was a stressful start to what we hoped would be a fun pre-game meal. Our kids ordered clam chowder, which was listed on the menu, but the kitchen was out. We substituted it with tortilla soup and requested no avocado—yet the soup still came topped with avocado. To their credit, some of the food was solid. We enjoyed the street corn, rib eye tacos—they were flavorful and well-prepared. However, when I informed our server I was gluten-free, he kindly checked with the chef, but unfortunately, I ended up having to excuse myself mid-meal as my food may food made me ill. There were also several inconsistencies—our drinks arrived with different garnishes and rims, and there were no kid-friendly cups available. I ordered the lamb, which came out well done, and I realized after the fact that the server never asked how I’d like it cooked. Perhaps most concerning was the state of the women’s restroom: no toilet paper or seat liners in any stall, and overall not clean. For a newer restaurant with very few guests inside, that felt unacceptable. Unfortunately, for the price and the level of service, we won’t be returning. I hope the team at Magdalena can work through these early growing pains but for now, it's a pass from us.

   Excellent Salsa! Crab Cakes were great too! If you are going to the Grove for an event, stop here first!

   Sad to say we won’t be coming back. Food was okay but the service was terrible. It took almost 2 hours to get our food and when it came out, it wasn’t hot and was overcooked. There was maybe one server covering all tables for the night and the cook staff seemed wildly understaffed too. The server was so kind and did everything she could to keep things moving along. Also said it was a Latin restaurant but there was only American food on the menu. Very poorly run and managed.

   Our waitress was unprepared and incapable of handling the section she was given. It felt like her first week waiting tables she was way over whelmed. The food came out as prepared not timed together. Most items we ordered were out of stock, no baked potatoes, no scallops, no sea bass.

   The server we had was excellent, she was very nice. The food was great and did not take that long to come out. The environment was peaceful. Definitely will come back again.
