Amazing food and service. Perfect for date night or any night.
Luca is a neighborhood gem! Chef Bonanno does it again. Our entire party had a wonderful dining experience. THANK YOU!
Went during restaurant week to check it out. I Judge Italian restaurants harder than any others since my family is Italian. No, its not as good as moms but this place knows what they are doing. One of the few places that actually cooks pasta correctly. The flavors are not overly complicated like other places. Luca does it right! Planning on going back in the next few weeks to try the regular menu.
I've eaten at Luca several times in the past few years and it is always excellent. The new chef seems to have excellent ideas and presents them well.
Visited on the last night of restaurant week. Service was good, food was lacking. Disappointed since the cost of restaurant week was not inexpensive.
Went for restaurant week and it was busy. Service had some hickups with wrong orders coming to our table, but overall we had a great evening. It's been a while since our last visit here, but I would definitely return.
Visited during restaurant week. Food was top notch and service was fantastic
Great service, very accommodating. Food selection was fabulois
Great food, great service.....will be going back.
Wonderful pasta! Very good service. I highly recommend Luca.
Wonderful food, presentation and the service was excellent!
Food was delicious, service outstanding! Really enjoyed eating here.
We were a bit disappointed given that we have always had great experiences at Luca. Our appetizer (Meat and Cheese) and desert (Butterscotch Bread Pudding) were very good, but both our pasta entrees did not live up to the expectations created from our previous visits.
My Wife had the Lobster pasta and I had the bolognese. Both dishes had an "over spiced" taste to them. They almost tasted the same which made sharing the dishes less enjoyable and the subtle/differentiated tastes we have come to expect were missing. The noodles themselves were great but the spice really took away from the enjoyment of both dishes.
The service was fine, but the energy and charisma of our waiter was lacking.
This is a different Luca. Gone is the old nice Italian restaurant. They are trying to be hip or something. The music was loud and overwhelming. We couldn’t talk. The service was slow. The food was mediocre
Too bad we will not go back
Great solid food for 18 years. Have the Fusili! Trust me.
This was our 2nd time to Luca and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Service was impeccable over all we loved it! and will be back.
We had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation and I had to pay $32 for a NY strip that was over cooked and mostly charred fat. I expected more on Valentine’s Day since the menu was extremely reduced from an option standpoint.
A wonderful, delicious, romantic meal! Will return!
The meal was good, not great. Service was hurried, noise level and music were uncomfortable. We have been to Luca many times, but may not return.
We decided to go to our Valentine’s dinner a day early, and it was a great choice. Frank Bonanno himself was in the kitchen, and the entire evening was extra special! Luca has a Thursday night deal for half price on wine $60 or less, and we had a wonderful Ripasso with our meal. After the complementary cheese, crisps and jam, we shared a new antipasti salad that was generous and divine! Meats, cheeses, olives, super-flavorful veggies; the perfect starter. Then I had the scallops and my husband had the chicken. Both were amazing! I mean OMG amazing! We took boxes so we had room for dessert...I had the chocolate cake with coffee gelato, and he had tiramisu. Yet another perfect course! Luca may be casual these days, but the food is phenomenal! If you haven’t been lately, you are missing a truly special restaurant.
I loved the menu. We were 2 couples at dinner so we ordered burrata, copa, Caesar salads and entrees (burrata stuffed chicken parm and porchetta were divine) but, if solo, I could have ordered a pizza or pasta and made the meal casual (I.e inexpensive). Great service and atmosphere.
Everything was exquisite from the mussels through the carbonara, the short ribs and the scallops, ending with the butterscotch bread pudding and tiramisu. Service was exceptional. We will be back.
Matt Hislop is an amazing chef! All the servers were also excellent, professional and very accommodating. We highly recommend this fabulous Denver restaurant!
We live in the neighborhood and were hoping for a great experience. While there was nothing “bad” about our experience, the food, service, and (Italian) wine selection were all just solidly average.
The restaurant didn't meet our expectations. Service was extremely slow, and inconsistent. A burrata appetizer was brought out burned and had to be sent back. The risotto was somewhat watery, and I had to use a knife to cut my polenta. And, one of our 7 entrees was forgotten. To the restaurant's credit, that entrée was comp'd. We spent two and a half hours for mediocre food and poor service. We won't be going back.
Luca was extremely busy on the Saturday night we went. Sat there for 10 minutes before we got water. Wine service was nonexistent for over 30 minutes. Waiter started out testy but did indeed rally. Food was good, not great. Not rushing back.
Decent meal but the kitchen had an off night. Very slow service and food was above average, but not as good as in the past.
Meal was a little late, so the owner presented each of us with an appetizer on the house. Great staff. Get them on Restaurant Week if they’re participating.
Parking was easy thanks to free valet service. Attentive staff, food was obviously homemade and was absolutely outstanding. We were able to go while waiting for flight as restaurant is only 30 from Denver International Airport. Would definitely eat here again!
This was the first time we had dined at Luca and we were very impressed with the cuisine, atmosphere, and servers! We really enjoyed it!
The food was good, but it took forever and the restaurant wasn’t busy. If we traveled back to Colorado, I don’t believe I would return.
We had the perfect evening: the service/pace was excellent, the casual atmosphere was warm and friendly, the Luca salad had super-fresh arugula and fennel, the mussels were large, juicy, and flavorful, my shrimp were amazing, my husband's steak was generous and mind-blowingly yummy, and the tiramisu and chocolate torte were the perfect ending to the perfect dining experience. Luca can be a quick, special meal, or a long, luxurious evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the latter!
The food was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They made you feel at home. Make sure to order the meat and cheese platter along with the goat buratta . The meats are home cured
Terrific exceptional fantastic just plain really good+++
Service and good were outstanding!
Great as always
We had high expectations when dining here on New Year's Eve, since we have been to the restaurant in the past with no complaints. Our reservation was at 7:15 and we arrived early and we sat right away. We ordered a bottle of wine and made selections from the special menu. After an hour we had been served our first course (antipasti caldi and lump crab salad). We were very frustrated with the poor service. I mentioned it to the hostess and also to another server that approached our table, apologizing for th3e delays. Note our server NEVER said a thing about the service and how terribly slow it was. She was oblivious the entire night. The crab salad was NOT made with lump crab, it was just the cheap stringy crab. Next was the eggplant and jumbo prawns. One prawn was cooked perfect, the other was overcooked. We had the cheese ravioli and lobster agnolotti - no problems with these dishes, again, just the incredibly long wait in between the dishes. The table next to us after 1.25 hours was onto their third course. Next was the new York strip and tuna steak. The NY strip had a lot of gristle (tough to cut/eat). My date liked the tuna steak dish. Dessert was the opera cream cake and cheesecake. Cheesecake was a little dry (when was it made?) and the berries were not macerated. We left at 10:00!! Overall a really disappointing evening and a poorly managed kitchen staff. Not sure how this compares to prior NY eve's but I suggest they revisit the service issues and consider eliminating one course next year. We decided we would not go back for NYE.
Went for NYE dinner. Adorable little place, very cute inside. Had a pre-fixed menu, 5 course meal. The food was quite excellent. Only negative thing was that everything was extremely slow. We were there over 2.5 hours and had to ask for the remaining courses to be boxed up. Would still recommend and would go back. Just be mindful you maybe there for awhile.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and most of the dishes. The only reason I am giving 3/5 stars is because the main course, which was the New York Strip steak, was not prepared to the proper medium-rare temperature. Judging from the other steaks set served to other patrons, this was a common issue. The steaks were much closer to rare than medium rare, which was a disappointment because my wife did not enjoy hers at all. Some of the fat needed more rendering, and the “warm pink center” was not really there on the thicker part of the cut.
Simply delicious! Amazing Italian food!
