Loved loved loved the food. Great red sauce on their Bolognese. Although a seafood restaurant we went for Italian. We were NOT disappointed. Mussels were the best. We will eat here again.
The waiter was the real problem. He was polite, but failed to remember anything. The food was cold when it arrived and it really detracted from our experience.
Chill, eloquent vibe where you feel special! Excellent service and cuisine.
Food was good but nothing special. Appears to be a very tourist oriented spot. Our server Kira was great
Service was great. My husband and I split a meal, the fish special over rice. Portion was very small for the $45.00 price tag.
Out meals were very good and it was an enjoyable evening, however, our server’s “bedside manner” left a lot to be desired. He never greeted us, just showed up at the table and started talking, in a fairly monotone, short/gruff and unenthusiastic manner. His demeanor continued throughout the evening. We asked for nothing special, yet I felt I was inconveniencing him when I asked for a description of a food item. It just seemed like he didn’t want to be there and made me uncomfortable in what was meant to be a nice dining experience.
Food was great as always! Been coming here for 3 years straight!
We had breakfast here and it was outstanding. The service and food. For dinner, it was "very good". The server seemed a little lost, the hostess a little irritated when we requested a specific table (the place was empty!) and the server made a few small mistakes that were a little frustrating. The dinner food was good, but not excellent. Would definitely be back for breakfast. Might give dinner another try some time too.
The service was slow and our main courses came out at various times. Several pasta meals had to go back to the kitchen because it was cold. Even with our laid back Maui mode it was still slow and we were frustrated. They needed to have more wait staff to help with our table of 12. It was disappointing because the place is so lovely.
Terrible service waited 10 minutes before even anyone came to terrible, server came by and said he would be right back another 8 minutes. Seemed very distracted. Ordered ceviche which was listed as whitefish with jalapeños. Came with salmon and dark pieces of fish, no flavor. Sent it back. Artichoke was bland and watery. Something is going on with this restaurant / hostess even was a non-plus
OK place for dinner (albeit spotty service and wait staff who don’t know the menu). Breakfast - alacarte and expensive
Stay away for breakfast
Service was great. I had chicken parm and was good expect they served it with mashed potatoes. Would have been better with pasta. Others said the chicken piccata was good. Kids thought it was just ok. Their chicken was a bit tough.
This is usually our go to place when we visit but this time we were disappointed. Table of five and the waiter was not attentive. The manager walked by more often than he did. Two good ordersnwerenservednicencokd and by the time they received their new meal
Everyone else was finished. Not even a sorry let alone a dessert or discount. Might readjust my choice the next time we visit Maui
Quite honestly a very
Really delicious breakfast- filling & well priced! Would go back!
Great service, and delicious food. We will definitely be there again soon. Mahalo nui
I've eaten at Longhi's and was looking forward to purchasing from their excellent menu. I had 5 people with various tastes - some don't like fish, others didn't like vegetables. We made a reservation for 9:00PM and planned to leave after dinner for the Wailea Mid-night NYE fireworks show. When we arrived at Longhi's we were told we could only order off a pref-fixe menu for $85/person which included NYE favors and a glass of champaign. Several in our group did not care for several courses during the dinner and the champaign was not good. I was disappointed with the communication that we could not order what we wanted from the normal menu and paid a huge premium for some food that we really didn't want. The music being played for NYE was terrible for the crowd that Longhi's had eating dinner and several other tables were complaining about the techno Rap music. Spent over $600 for an average dinner and then left early to go watch the fireworks.
Went for NYE and wasn’t told until I arrived that menu was Prix fixe for the evening. That should have been made clear when making reservations. Ha no choice then to stay as it was too late to find table elsewhere. What a mistake! Food was way overpriced and laughably small portions. Food was bland and had no taste. We were a group of 7 and not one of us finished our ridiculously tiny meal — the meat had no taste, the salad tasted like the dressing had gone sour and the dessert was awful. The teaspoon of mashed potatoes we got were bland. The atmosphere was normal for NYE — loud. The only good thing was the service — the waitstaff was very attentive. But the food — yuck. No thanks, never again — what a total ripoff.
New Year’s Eve tradition for us! Lobster Longhi always a treat! Very good service and always get a nice table. Thank you for another wonderful last night of the year!
New Year’s Eve.
While the service was good, the food was disappointing and overpriced. We weren’t impressed to be told they were out of caprese salad at 7 pm! Not a good start to dinner in an Italian restaurant. We won’t be back there for dinner again.
I had the MongChong and it was overdone!
I have enjoyed longi's every year for about 25 years.
Convenient location from kihei, but a nicer vibe in lahaina. My favorite dish was SCALLOPS LONGI STYLE. Sadly scallops are no longer offered which I find peculiar given the location. I opted for eggplant parmigiana. I wish I could say it was the best I ever had but it wasn't and was only slightly warm when served. Our server was awesome and they always are, but in tracking the experience at longi's it isn't what it used to be. I miss the old Longi's as it was a favorite tradition to go there. Would I go back? Yes, but not with the same enthusiasm as I used to. Anyway...hope that is helpful and since you solicited my opinion, I hope to see things get better for the next time. Victor
Christmas dinner in Maui. Couldn’t book. A large table on-line but the staff were able to put us together at a made up larger table. Be having Christmas dinner at Longhi’s for the past few years and will do it again next year.
Visited on Christmas Day. Loved the Hawaiian pancakes. Service was a little slow but waitress was really sweet.
Perfect place to spend christmas morning breakfast Waitress was great
Our waitress -- Andie -- was phenomenal. We will go back again and ask for her! As usual the food was great and dining outside under the Maui blue sky -- nothing is better than that.
Have eaten there before and enjoyed it much more then. But everyone is allowed a bad day, I suppose.
The food and service was great, but the place is looking dated. Banquettes worn down to the stuffing, untidy. Makes mw wonder if their lease is about to expire.
Service was horrible. Wait staff could care less if we wanted to be there and clearly they did not! So disappointing after coming to Longhi’s for years.
This restaurant has been a fixture on Maui since 1979. We went to the one in Wailea and it did not disappoint.
Delicious and excellent
Great for lunch but dinner was filled with kids. Eggplant Parm was a joke - massive plate of just that, cut it in 1/4 and serve with a nice side of spaghetti and you have a meal.
Each time we are on Maui we eat here at least once. The food is always delicious. Last night we discovered Tuaca -- an Italian brandy. Great way to finish a meal!!!
Understaffed and the food was no good. Sadly. It was bland
Good service, food and surroundings. Good value lunch.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. Had the Thanksgiving offering that was the usual Turkey, etc. While if was fine, when it came time for the Pumpkin Pie listed on the special menu, the waitress had to apologetically come out and say that someone sold some whole pies to someone so they were out. That seems like a really poor decision on the restaurants part. They offered any other dessert, but that wasn’t the same. Also, things seemed a bit disorganized. It took a long time to even get water and then the bread came after other tables were served that were seated after us. Usually, it’s fine if it’s a short period, but this was quite a while. I will say that Longhi’s has fantastic breakfast!
Great breakfast in the area. If you are staying at Grand Wailea, this is a much better option to have breakfast here.
