delicious food, good vibe and amazing wine.
had dinner with friends on a Saturday evening and loved the place.
Great food and service, would definitely use again
Very nice and chill atmosphere, very good service. Food is really good! Definitely a good experience
Picked this at random for a dinner with my brother and family. Our kids like tapas so it seemed like a good choice, but we were really happy to discover how excellent it actually was. My eldest was devouring the complimentary chorizo in red wine before the food proper came. Pulpo and calamari were great. Slow cooked jamon thumbs up. Also recommend the chorizo picante and campestre (black pudding that is neither black nor contains blood!). And you can’t go wrong with churros for dessert.
A very pleasant tapas restaurant. It was quiet when we visited. Excellent service. Calamari delicious. Just a bit too much salad but otherwise very good and would book again.
Everything was fantastically fresh and delicious, including particularly wonderful pulpo and calamari. Transported us back to very happy times in beautiful Extremadura.
Great charcuterie and really nice house red wine. We also ordered secreto iberico and salt cod, really tasty. Helpful staff and beautiful deco in this Spanish place.
I went to have dinner recommend by a friend.I started with some cheese and padron peppers, really nice. Then I order presa, best iberico pork from the grill I have tried in UK. I'll be back soon.
Very unprofessional staff,arrogant and careless.
The waiter, went by the side of the restaurant to smoke, and she come back, working, without washing her hands, such a disgusting things, for some one working so close to food, really shame on you.
Food nothing special, very basic, and seems that, for certain dishes, the food come already cooked and vacuumed.(octopus, chorizo, the famous Ham,just to state some of the dishes)
Bread with tomato,a total shame.
I will never go back.
We read carefully our customers' reviews, we are always very grateful to learn from their point of views and normally we do not respond. Unfortunately, your feedback forces us to answer for all the contradictions in it. There is only one waitress in our staff, we can warranty she doesn't smoke. We also are very proud of our Iberian meat. They come from our unit in Spain and we cut them in our restaurant. Furthermore, there is a large number of clients who are delighted with our Iberian food.
The food this visit was not quite as good as our previous visit. I'm not sure why. We went for lunch and were there well after Llerena shut after lunch but the waiting staff didn't make a fuss at all. We apologised for it and the person serving us was lovely about it which was very nice of him.
We'll be back but perhaps wait a while in the hope that the food quality returns to the excellent levels of our first visit a while ago.
Food was very good and authentic and the staff were great. No music playing in the background and that’s an additional benefit as you can eat and chat as you would at home. We will definitely be returning very soon.
Took my dad out for an early Father's day meal and the manager was kind enough to give us a free dessert treat. Amazing food, service and attentive staff! :)
We had a great meal at Llerena. Delicious meats, fantastic cheese, wonderful wine! I would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be back! Thank you!
We loved the food at LLerena. Two of the 5 of us have lived in Spain and look for authentic flavours and dishes and Llerena certainly fulfilled on that. The only reasons I'm not giving this review 5 stars is firstly that our seating wasn't great; I had the waiting staff repeatedly knocking into my chair. I'd asked for good seating at the time of booking and we should have had a better table. The second reason is that while the food is excellent, it was really quite expensive. We only had 3 glasses of alcohol in total so that wasn't the bulk of the cost, which it often can be.
Lovely place, excellent food, very nice staff. We'll certainly go back but will insist on a good table and also be aware of the costs.
The restaurant has a great ambience, smart decor, really interesting menu and friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the food is hit and miss. Some really good dishes but also some pretty average ones, and at the end that's what really counts. Perhaps it wasn't their best night, but it just doesn't remind me of good tapas bars in Spain.
Great simple food - not enough vegetarian options on the menu.
Nice restaurant although Tapas food is not amazing, very average.
Excellent service and food. Morcilla, croquettes and padron peppers highly recommended.
The food was very good, but the portions were bigger than we were led to believe so we had a lot of food. The waiter made a mistake with our order and brought us an extra dish, but they were very nice about removing it.
Great and quick pre-theatre dinner, around the corner from Almeida theatre. Jamon Bellota was very good, ox tail croquettes tiny but super tasty, galician style octopus (pulpo) on potato slices sprinkled with smoked paprika - super soft and fantastic despite being quite oily. Service, from Jonatan in particular, was efficient and personal; the only girl server was not very friendly, bit barky with the rest of the staff. I also thought pitching "discretionary service charge" automatically at 20% compared to max London benchmark of 12.5% (if it is charged at all), was rather presumptuous. Very authentic Spanish food prepared by chef from Malaga, with almost all staff Spanish, adding to the feeling of authenticity to the whole exercise.
I grew up in Spain and all I can say is that this is my favourite Spanish restaurant in London.
We have been to Llerena before and enjoyed the tapas and we enjoyed them again on our recent visit. The daily specials were particularly good. On the other hand the brevity of the wine list and the sherries struck us more forcibly than before. Only three sherries are listed which seems very limited for a tapas restaurant and one of those was unavailable. The service was also less efficient and knowledgeable than I remember from previous visits. A request for two glasses of oloroso resulted in two glasses of fino being brought to the table. There are many good things about Llerena but if they want to attract custom that would otherwise go to tapas restaurants elsewhere (e.g Soho and Fitzrovia) they need to up their game a little.
The food at Llerena was terrific, we had a wide selection and they were all delicious. I'd particularly recommend the padron peppers and the chorizo and black pudding stew. It was a little quiet but we ate just before 7pm on a Wednesday so perhaps that's not surprising. Otherwise, a lovely meal with good service.
A brilliant little find. And excellent value!!
Great food and very affordable! Only downside was the staff were not attentive :(
excellent! It was very good and very pleasant! I will recommend it!
Had a lovely meal on Thursday evening before a concert with my boyfriend. Was very quite at the time. Tapas was lovely and staff were great. Would recommend.
Excellent food - iberico secreto and pulpo highly recommended. Ambience a little subdued and felt quite cold.
Food portions too small, corridor too narrow, waiter take plates without asking, just the products are ok
Wow this place was an amazing find in Islington. The food was absolutely gorgeous, lovely Tapas, best meat and Iberian Ham London. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Great knowledge of wines and may have even converted me into becoming a sherry drinker!! Thank you for a delicious meal with a lovely relaxed atmosphere- thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Great. Good selection of Gin & Tonics and tapas, specially tasty the spicy chorizo and the secreto iberico. I'll be back to try more for sure
Good service but the food was mediocre . None of the tapas / meals we ordered was that special ..
Such a great place! Amazing iberico ham and good range of tapas! Spicy chorizo and secreto iberico were very tasty.
Good value and nice staff.
Coming back soon.
So overrated, I was expecting so much more from the high ratings it has received, the iberico ham was good but small portion for £16, and at 9pm a number of main and important dishes were already sold out, there was no sangria in the winter. It wasn't horrible but it was really nothing special at all, the cod was so fishy, the portions tiny but pricey, the staff in general were fairly nice.... but unfortunately I won't be going back...
Such a great experience on a freeeeezing day. Food, service etc, all was gorgeous and welcoming
Sweet/caramelised aubergine was delicious and churros were the best I have ever had. For a drink there was no sangria because they do not serve it in winter but we were offered red wine mixed with lemonade and it was so refreshing. The service was very quick, a bit too casual for my liking. Almost forgot - there were some nice nibbles for a starter. You can buy some jarred pate and other Spanish delicacies there.
Stylish cafe with charming service, our Spanish companion was not impressed with the jamon but other tapas were fine, nothing special but good quality.
What a Spanish treat! I came with some friends and we spent the whole night sat at the bar, enjoying the vibes as if we were in Spain. The food was delicious, remarkable meat and charcuterie. Plus the staff are very professional and friendly. We had a great night...for sure this family know what they’re doing. We’ll be back!! Thanks Llerena
Very disappointing. Food was average and service friendly but chaotic
Oddly-shaped table! We went as a group of eight - but due to the pushed-together triangular tables, we were too far away from each other to chat... The food was decent - but nothing particularly noteworthy. The service was intermittent and some orders got duplicated whilst others got omitted. If you love Spanish food and tapas, then there are many better examples to be found in London.
