This used to be a fine casual restaurant. Unfortunately, it is now like a Greyhound Bus Station setting. No more tablecloths, tables EXTREMELY close together...athmosphere is GONE@@@ 325 $ later for 3 people... there are nowadays many many better options for good Italian dining in KC. For example Farina and Ragazza... Lydia Bastianich.. you should look at this location a little closer and make it more conducive for your customers than for your wallet.

Wonderful service and quick to table. Excellent wine selection. Food was mixed from good to excellent. For us I think we would prefer more subtle variations on pasta sauces that are reflections of traditional Italy. The price was bit high for a noisy active place that seemed to make leisurely dining unwelcome. All said we left with a smile on our face...

Our waitress did not have much patience and if one didn’t reply in 5 seconds, she was off to return later. The food was not up to the usual Lidia’s fare.

We’ve been wanting to try Lidia’s since our daughter moved to KC several months ago and finally scored a reservation during on of our visits! The restaurant to beautiful inside! Our service was excellent from beginning to end and the food was delicious. We all got the pasta tasting trio, and there were plenty of offers of refills as we ate. It’s a great value and the selections that night were a turkey and spinach ravioli, cavatappi bolognese, and homemade fettuccini with pesto. All were delicious. We also enjoyed the arancini and fritto misto as starters. Those portions were also generous and came out quickly. I highly recommend Lidias, it was a lovely night out while visiting our daughter!

The service at the bar was excellent. Our server at the table seemed very annoyed he had to wait on me and my daughter. This was supposed to be an exciting dinner for her trip to KC but instead we got the grouchy server. I was trying to order several appetizers and he immediately walked off after I asked him about the fried calamari. I tried to say wait but he kept going. He did not try to explain anything about the menu and it was our first visit. Very disappointing. We sat at the bar first and the young lady behind the bar was excellent. She explained the menu to the guest, talked highly of the food, was extremely nice and we enjoyed her work while paying attention to her guest.

Our server was Matthew. He was excellent. I would recommend him to anyone. Checking on us without hovering. He made the evening even better. The food was absolutely amazing.

My family and I felt crammed in the space a little bit. It was very loud. The Pasta Trio came out lukewarm. Overall it was disappointing.

Lydias is the ultimate food dining experience! We’ve been coming every year for Thanksgiving and we love the food, atmosphere(love the chihuly glass chandeliers) , and the wait staff! Excellent in every way.

Outstanding food! Service was a bit slow compared to the tables around us. Bread & Pesto came after the appetizer. Each course was noticeably slower than other tables that arrived after us.

Wonderful way to begin the Thanksgiving Holiday. Service was outstanding. From the warm friendly greeting from the Host, to the outstanding service from my waiter, Steven Hubbard, it was a fabulous dining experience. They have a comprehensive wine list. I enjoyed the Rose. I chose the 3 course set menu of Caesar salad, three kinds of pasta and a delicious dessert. I will definitely be returning whenever I visit Kansas City.

Entirely happy with our (party of seven) time at Lidia's. Interesting, flavorful menu that's nonetheless down-to-earth and accessible; everyone seemed pleased with their meals--I certainly was re: my beet salad, ravioli, and manicotti. Staff was friendly and relaxed and we had a nice level of privacy while not being sequestered; lighting was nice and dim.

We are Lidia's regulars and brought two out of town guests this time. We all really enjoyed the pasta trio -- especially the ravioli and the tagliatelle. And we always love the foccacia and the caesar salad. Our server Wojo took great care of us. We look foward to next time!

- Bar staff needs to be warmer/more glad to see and help bar customers. We always feel like we’re bothering them / they’re not too glad to see us + Holly is a magnificent table server and should train others to be as positive-spirited, thorough and helpful!! + hostesses were friendly, helpful, accommodating and flexible!!

Noise level was loud, not energetic. Tables are spaced too close together and this caused a bad experience. We had a young, backwards hat wearing, loudmouth at the table next to us. His favorite word was motherf----er, which he repeated numerous times to his table mates. My wife would not let me say anything to him but I'm sure the waiters noticed it and said nothing. My wife's beet and goat cheese salad looked as though it had been setting out for a long time and there were only two very small piece of goat cheese and one small piece of shriveled lettuce on it. The Osso Buco was dry and not very tasty. Very disappointing especially since we had brought two out of town friends there.
