                                                        I took our family to Lidia's for Mother's Day Brunch. We really enjoyed everything about the restaurant. We will be back in the near future!

                                                        We had the Trio Pasta plater, which is 3 special pastas created for the day. Always a different take on normal everyday pasta. Example: pear ricotta ravioli in a light sauce. The dish was fantastic. The meal comes with Lidia's wonderful Caeser's salad and choice of desert. Willing to try something non-ordinary and delicious Lidia’s is the place.

                                                        Ordered the special pasta trio. The salad was perfect. The pasta was a big disappointment. There were three, as promised. One was undercooked, Al dente, but requiring a very strong tooth to get through it. The spaghetti was ok but not special. The same for the ravioli. These dishes seemed like cafeteria fare instead of an uptown restaurant. My problem is probably that my expectations were very high and the food just did not fill that promise. I have been a faithful patron of Lidia’s tv program for a long time and was sadly encountered with the reality when I final made it there. It is 90 miles from my home, so not an easy trip to eat out.

                                                        food is still excellent but our server was subpar by several measures bad luck of the draw, but that is how most places are these days, IMO.
