This was our second time at Lidia's and we're already planning our next visit! My husband and I both got the pasta trio and all three selections were amazing! The service was great, our waitress was friendly and helped recommend the perfect glass of wine for my husband. We even stayed for dessert and had an amazing seasonal tiramisu!
Lidia's used to be great! It was one of our go-tos for celebrations or a fancy night out. We have always brought our kids because the homemade pasta was great and they loved the beautiful restaurant. This time, it was such a disappointment. They put us in the "covered patio" which is basically a side room with beige window shades. The kids pasta was out of a box and the trio we ordered had undercooked risotto and very little flavor. Sad because I do not think this reflects the quality Lidia has come represent. The service (Joshua) was fantastic and the only good part about the night. Hoping the quality comes back, but until then, we will not.
I have wanted to come to this restaurant forever! It just was not as great as I hoped.
The pasta trio was outstanding. My friend had the Pollo Limone and said it was also fabulous. It was a cold day outside and the cold temperatures did seem to seep through the glass windows, so that detracted from the experience. They offer a nice variety of wines by the glass.
Impeccable service, firstly. Pasta was fresh and amazing. Great wine list and perfect ambiance.
Love the Pasta Trio and their Caesar Salad! Never disappoints.
Pasta Trio was over cooked and some was cold. Very disappointed this time.
The waitstaff was amazing and friendly. Very professional. The food was superb but some entrees were not hot.
My sisters and I went to Lidia's for dinner before going to the Carol Burnett show. We had one a a wheel chair and that was no problem at all for access and seating. We had 2 friends join us 1/2 way through the meal and the staff did not bat an eye, they just took care of them right away. We had the pasta trio of spicy red sauce with shrimp, bacon and cabbage, and butternut squash ravioli. It was delicious and plentiful! The Sangiovese was delicious, too! You never disappoint!
Excellent food and service but, the party nearby needed to keep the noise to a minimum. Overall an excellent experience on behalf of Lidia’s, a travesty on behalf of some people’s lack of social graces.
Great food. Waitress was real helpful. Went for first date and was great. Was able to converse with no problems. Had the short rib dish and was delicious
Love Lidia's, but really disappointed in the pasta trio on Saturday. Normally they have a stuffed pasta but Saturday they had risotto with shrimp. Really risotto?? Isn't risotto a side dish?
The food was terrific and the service excellence.
We always love the food at Lidia’s. The restaurant was full so the noise level was high.
I haven’t been to Lydia’s in over 10 years but I remembered it as a great place to eat. Time has not changed that it was an awesome, awesome meal. My friend had the trio of pastas and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the fish special of the day which was a grilled fish platter. Very generous servings and amazing taste.
One of my favorites, so happy to have Lidia's in our community! I recommend to all visitors to the city.
Awesome experience. Was so lucky to be in one of the few “Lidia’s” cities in the US. Will always return when I’m ever in Kansas City.
20th Anniversary Party
What a fun experience being a part of the 20th anniversary and Lidia could not have been more gracious posing for pics and signher book. The only disappointment was that the service was greatly hindered by the large crowd and courses were delayed at our table. (May have been our waitress as other tables were served much more promptly). Further, the entrees were barely warm when arriving at the table. Only regret was that this was the first visit for some at the table but I explained that this was highly unusual for this wonderful restaurant.
Had a wonderful anniversary evening, thank you! We had great service and they knew it was our anniversary too!
Always amazing. Lidia’s restaurants are some of the best in America.
The food was so good ... thank you Chef for a delicious meal. The service, as always, was excellent. The anniversary party for Lidia was a great success.
I love Lidia's and have been going for many years. I've always had exception service with the exception of this past Saturday night. Out waiter was inattentive and didn't seem to want to bother with us too terribly much. Everything (food/atmosphere) was fantastic as usual...just not the best service this time.
I have always enjoyed everything I had a lidias but I was severely disappointed in the food I had this time. The trio pastas were not properly cooked and we were almost done eating before the third type of food was even brought by. The rice in the risotto was crunchy. I think they were just having an off night.
Beautiful, delicious brunch at a incredible price. The restaurant is so lovely, just like you’d hope for and expect!
Limited options on the menu. Noodles were undercooked. Not a good value for the experience.
We enjoyed the cuisine. Nice Service.
Our waitress was informed and informative with great suggestions but we had to wait to be seated at a corner table even with reservation. Overall we were pleased with the dining experience.
Lovely Italian restaurant, every member of our party thought their dinner choices were very good. I would say that the menu was rather limited. Prices were somewhat expensive, particularly since salads were priced separately, although this was dinner in an upscale restaurant in an urban environment, so maybe not really out of line. Wine choices were very good, the atmosphere was elegant, and our server was cordial and attentive.
Food, service rated very good! Hope to return on next Birthday Celebration!
Average food and service at best.
It was just ok. Service was very slow it was not bust on a Monday night. The food was just ok.
Always a great meal at LIdia's. I've been going since they opened in KC 20 years ago, and never disappointed. Love their pasta tasting, and this meal the salmon was excellent.
Excellent food in a grand environment. Always what one wishes and expects. Just what Lidia does on television except that it is placed before you to eat.
Have been to Lidia's many times since it opened 20 years ago....have never had a bad meal there! Food is consistently excellent and the service always impresses, especially this last visit! Would not hesitate to recommend Lidia's to anyone looking for a great place to eat!!
Great food and service, a bit loud for conversation
The food never disappoints! The ambiance & customer service is great. It's always a wonderful experience.
The whole experience rocked! We requested Tabatha... who is one of the best servers we have ever had ( we have eaten world wide)- and true to form we felt like we saw an old friend and she knew and explained the menu with ease.
Tabatha made the experience very personal and her expertise from menu knowledge to knowing when to recommend to even letting us know upcoming events at Lydias... I don’t know how anyone could be better!
I had the pork chop which was absolutely the best I’ve ever had and cooked perfect and my wife had a fish entry that wasn’t salmon for once that was out of this world! If there was a short coming tonight it might be the Caesar Salad- it was a 7 out of 10... everything fresh, but nothing spectacular... everything else we had was spectacular.
Prices were a bit high, but you get what you pay for and I don’t know where you would go to get better Italian food anywhere in the world. And the atmosphere with most everyone dressed really nice gave a great ambience not hardly found anywhere anymore. Add Tabatha and you save a plane ticket to Italy to get food that speaks to authenticity with the warmth of a human being that educates and makes you feel special for stopping in.
Another amazing experience at Lidia’s. Food was great as was the service. Only downfall is that they have removed several of our favorites from the menu such as the meat and cheese appetizer and the wild boar ravioli for dinner.
It was a busy Friday night... the food was good, but waitress was rushed and went through the specials wayyyy to fast for us to grasp the concept of what they were. When we asked her to repeat she seemed annoyed. The seating was crammed to the point where we could hear the table next to us, but the food was good and unique. It was loud. The ambiance overall sets the scene for a relaxing dining experience, but we felt rushed and crammed.
