Great atmosphere. Seemingly very busy...I think our server was covering an extra section. He was trying hard, but we were waiting for awhile on dessert and our check. Overall a positive experience. Would go back, and hopefully experience more attentive service.
Went for brunch felt it was very overpriced with the menu they serve not very many breakfast things
Another wonderful experience at Lidia's. One of our family favorites.
Poor service from Kitchen. The whole restaurant was behind in serving. We were a party of seven and main plates did not come until ONE HOUR AND 10 MINUTES after sitting. Also plates came 10 minutes apart. I had the meat trio and the pork was extremely salty. Trout was very salty. Overheard multiple people at buffet table upset about their service. Management was not seen walking the restaurant. Can see into the kitchen multiple large tubs of dirty dishes sitting on the floor. Staff was walking around because it was partly blocking flow of traffic from kitchen into dining facility. Changes need to be made.
The Server was excellent, the food did not fit my espectatives but it was good, i have to try another dish, pasta with pesto was so taste it.
Tried Lidias on a recommendation.. so glad we did! The service was great! Server made great recommendations for wine and meal. The chefs special was a great value and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back..
Good good liked how the pasta trio was served. Server was friendly and nice but seemed “too busy”. Difficult to get his attention and only checked on us once during our meal.
Great food and service
Lidia’s is always a great choice before heading to the Kaufman for a show — great service and always a nice food experience.
Concert at Kauffman Center
Wonderful! Service waiter was great! Food was over the top! Gorgeous atmosphere!
Great food great scene very satisfied after our anniversary dinner!! Duck Gnocchi was heaven on a plate.
The Osso Buco was delicious--made with a pork shank, which was unexpected, but I'd order it again. Also had the Valpoliccelo, which was a nice complement. My companion had the pasta trio and really liked the chicken stuffed ravioli. I will say that the service was a little slow, but it wasn't the server's fault; the restaurant was slammed and they appeared to be short handed. Our server was hustling, but just had too many tables. For my taste, the tables were a little too close together, and the dining room was too loud for comfortable conversation.
We always love going to Lidia's. This time we were with friends and we appreciated the good wine list and the inclusion of value wine pricing. The new bar area is beautiful and the atmosphere at Lidia's is always one of hospitality and good cheer.
Had a wonderful meal at Lidia's while visiting Kansas City last week. My husband had dined there previously (when he was in KC for conferences), so this was my first experience at Lidia's. I have been a fan of hers ever since she first appeared on PBS--she is a neat lady and her food always looks delicious (I eat "pescatarian" but my husband eats meat so I understand preferences/differences). Our meal at Lidia's was one of the highlights of our trip this week. If we are able to return to KC, Lidia's will definitely be on our list again. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!
We had a wonderful time in a quiet, enjoyable location with excellent food and exceptional service.
Love every visit to Lidia's.
The table was ready when we arrived. Looking around, glad we made reservations. Pasta was cooked al dente. Easy parking and lighting in the parking lot good. Nice lighting in the restaurant. Nice wine pairings.
We ordered the Tucson and the courses were well coordinated and worked together. However, we felt rushed. There was little time to savor the one course before the other arrived, although there was no rush to enjoy the grappa at the end of the evening. The tiramisu was outstanding.
We don’t live in KC, but make a point of dining at Lidia’s every time we come through and will dine here again.
The wait staff was appropriately attentive. The ambience calming and peaceful. Both my friend and I had the pasta trio. Lidia's Caesar salad is the best--the one I compare all others to, and it did not disappoint. The bread spreads were great; the bread, adequate. The pastas were wonderful. My friend also had the dessert, a strawberry rhubarb dish topped with whipped cream, which appears to be seasonable, that she said was very good.
An incredible first time at Lidia’s! If you’re looking for a special date ask for table 68 - it’s tucked away in the corner and is the most private part of the large open dining area so you can enjoy the wonderful food with someone special in privacy. Excellent recommendations for wine parings.
Wonderful place for our anniversary.....food, service, drinks EVERYTHING was top rate and it won't break your wallet. I WILL recommend Lidia's to all my friends.
The hostess staff was awful because we didn't want to sit at the table she originally tried to seat us at so she gave us the WORST seat in the house! Our waitress was very nice and that is why we decided to stay we were going to leave and head over to Grunauer. Even though we had awful seats we were still very satisfied with the food and our waitress was great!
Our server was so great and made sure we had everything we needed. Even when it got busy we were still well attended to!
Great good. Had the 3 pastas served table side. Excellent and will come again
delicious meal with great, attentive service. The signature Caesar Salad was perfectly prepared, and the braised short ribs with horseradish seasoned mash potatoes was to die for. would dine at Lidia's again next time I am in KC.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and great food! Try the pasta trio!
Delicious treated us so well made our anniversary very special
I watch Lidia on PBS TV anytime I can catch her. She is a great chef and her show is informative as well as entertaining especially when her mother is on with her. I love them together, they make me laugh. I always wanted to go to her restaurant in KC. So I took my the love of my life and my neighbors out for a nice meal to show my affection for all that they do for me. The experience was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful. The food ( I had Halibut and so did my neighbor) was divine. It melted in my mouth and the potatoes and veggies were fabulous. For desert I had Tiramisu...... awesome, I didn't know how great a desert could be. What a treat. My love and I will be back and with more friends and family. Lidia's class shows in this restaurant, what beautiful chandeliers! Our servers were outstanding and so helpful and friendly. Out of 10 I give it 11.
Food was excellent as was the service. Plan on returning to this wonderful place!
The restaurant was beautiful. Staff from the hostess to servers were universally unfriendly, strange for KC . Pasta trio was all over cooked, though some flavors were pretty good, others bland. I expected a lot more for the prices and wouldn’t return or recommend.
Lovely dining room and delicious, authentic Italian food. We had no problem conversing with the noise level subdued. The waitress at first seemed a bit hassled with maybe too many to take care of but she was wonderful by the end of the meal even bringing us a special treat (a complementary tiramisu) at the end. This was not our first time at Lidia's and it won't be our last!
We were there on a Sunday afternoon, when they only serve a fixed price brunch. At $40 per person, I expect it to wow me. Food was good but not excellent. Service was disappointing. Waited a while to be initially greeted and long periods in between. Overall, still a beautiful place with very good food, but it needs to sharpen up a little.
Great food and outstanding service. Lidia’s is our favorite Italian Restaurant in Kansa City.
I am so glad to get this evaluation feedback because I want to tell you about how great my experience was.
We had a little trouble on this night. It was a special birthday and the birthday girl actually got sick just as the food arrived. We went to a Royals game and think she got too hot. She did come out of it later that evening thankfully.
We were all very embarrassed as she made it to the restroom but then got sick in the stall. Emma was so so so great! She kept saying its okay we have seen worse and just helped us through a very emotional time. She even came out to the garden to check on my daughter. She had our food packed up beautifully and we returned to our hotel and later ate our delicious take out.
This was my third visit to your restaurant and I can not tell how how pleased I am with your restaurant and staff!
Thank you so much!
Took out of town visitors to Lidias brunch, and it could not have been better. The bread and buffet starters were great for our hungry party, and the tomato soup was a hit. Pasta tasting menu was delicious, fresh and plentiful and we had a very difficult time choosing a favorite from the three although the pear and gorgonzola ravioli might have just eked out the win. Our member who tried the salmon entree was happy as well - it was well cooked and seasoned and the mustard sauce was a great compliment.
You can't go wrong with the Lidias brunch, and particularly the fresh Tasting menu.
This was a wonderful choice for downtown Kansas City! The all you can eat pasta choice was a good option especially before running a race the next day. The desserts were very tasty and a fitting end to an enjoyable meal.
We had a 7:30 reservation for group of 4. We were seated immediately which was good. It was very busy and we had to wait over an hour to get served. We even ordered easy dining, the chefs trio. Our waitress only visited table twice, to take the order and to give us our check. The pasta was nothing special. Very overrated and pricey
Dinner at Lidia's has been an annual event for our first night in Kansas City. Lidia's has never disappointed - the pasta trio meal is always different and always delicious. Service was speedy and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing - we were not rushed (and it was a fairly busy Friday evening). Highly recommend.
Great service and awesome food!
This has been a bucket list item for my wife and I to go to one of Lisa's resteraunts. We both tried the pasta trio sampler. It was good but I wish I got something else because it was a pasta and cream sauce overload.
I was surprisingly disappointed with the bread. It was cold dry and any different that any casual resteraunt would serve. I guess I was expecting fresh hot Italian bread, wouldn't you?
All in all, we were glad to have tried it. I can find food just as good elsewhere for half the price.
