Located in the heart of East 6th Street, Licha’s has become a niche restaurant for Austinites craving a bite of interior México. The restaurant is named after owner, Daniel Brooks’ mother, Alicia “Licha” Rivera, The atmosphere at Licha’s is casual and familiar. When you are here, you are in our home and we want to cater to you.
Inspired by the Mexican soulfood cooking that we were raised with, our menu is prepared by a team of passionate cooks. All of our masa products are made fresh and daily in-house and our proteins are thoughtfully brined and braised with a medley of herbs and spices.
If you’re interested in distilled agave products, Licha’s offers a large range of tequilas, mescales, bacanoras and sotoles.
Lichas’ friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to help should you have any questions about any of our dishes or menu options.
achiote braised pork, pickled red onion, avocado salsa, queso fresco
beef tongue, guajillo-peanut salsa, escabeche, avocado salsa, queso fresco
Tacos de Suadero
Rose meat confit finished on the plancha, avocado, onion, cilantro. Served with house made tortillas, pico de gallo and escabeche
Our server was a no show most of the time.. He didn’t really came to check on us. I kind of had to wave at him to get his attention.
Miguel was amazing as always!! Love coming to Licha’s cause you’ll never be disappointed! HIGHLY recommend
We were seated at our reservation time, waiter was outstanding with knowledge of menu, recommendations, attentive but not overly so. Very pleasant experience and we will certainly put Licha's on our list of regular spots.
There is no wheel chair access except through the alley. We were stuck in the outdoor patio where the bar next door was competing for music volume and the mosquitos were having a field day. Food was great but expensive. Service was spot on. Maybe it is for the younger crowd.
The staff here always treats their guests with the best, thank y’all!
Great food and even better margaritas! Sat inside, but would have enjoyed the outside setting even more. I would definitely return!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Loved it!
Absolutely love Lichas. I've been three times. The food and drinks are consistently wonderful. Cannot recommend their tocinada quesadilla or cochinita pibil enough!
Very good food and drinks. Can’t wait to come back
We enjoyed drinks and appetizers during Happy Hour. Service was impeccable, drinks and food were excellent. I would highly recommend.
Delicious food! Good margarita special. Liked the energy. Great service.
Fun place to hang, drink, and eat. This was only my 2nd time. We had a very heavy handed margaritas, some nice cheap beers, and queso fundido. The fundido was probably the best I've had. Throw the spicy salsa into the mix, fuhghettaboutit!
While visiting Austin, folks recommended we dine here. You definitely need reservations. The restaurant, a home converted into restaurant, has a great vibe. The food and drinks are awesome! Service is outstanding! Great Mexican food!
Fabulous food and very generous portions! Great outdoor space.
All around great spot to enjoy with friends and family!
Food and drinks were great as always! We felt comfortable with how they've adapted to social distancing, etc.
Friendly staff, authentic food, pleasant ambiance.
Food and drinks and service were all incredible. Social distancing is still in effect. This is one of my favorite Austin restaurants.
This is one of the best happy hours around! Margarita so goooood.
Great traditional food, not your average Tex Mex this is authentic Mexican regional food
I was dining alone at the bar and a first timer to the restaurant and city. I’m from California and had high expectations for Mexican food. Everything was delicious. The drinks-strong but not overwhelming- the salsas- smoky and with a kick (depending), tacos were so. good. Dining alone I ate the meet, onions, and pineapple with the corn chips instead of corn tortillas (although I did have 1 or 2 of those as well) because portions were generous. Excited at the idea of going back in the future!
Wonderful traditional Mexican food in a casual atmosphere. Service and drinks are excellent.
Licha's was an amazing experience. The service was impeccable, the spicy margaritas were amazing, and overall the experience was really nice. Definitely would recommend!
Great birthday experience
Burris tacos w consommé were delicious
Authentic Mexican cuisine. Generous servings and drinks.
We came here to celebrate my birthday from out of town. Saw many local recs to come here for happy hour and it did not disappoint. We were seated right outside and had great service. The happy hour menu is great and we tried a variety of items and drinks and were happy with the price as well. Would definitely recommend for good unique food and happy hour as it’s a fun cute spot !
Great ambiance but the quality of food here is a joke compared to all the other restaurants in Austin
Excellent service. Amazing food.
So good and authentic!!
Great, casual place. Will come back again and again because the food is exceptional. Great prices and fantastic service.
Little cold outside and the lamp wasn’t near us
Their back patio was perfect for a chilly night, they had it partially enclosed with heaters but still had air flow for safety. The drinks were wonderful and the dishes reminded me of actual Mexico City comfort food, planning my next visit soon!
It was excellent. The food was delicious and well prepared. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. We’d definitely go back.
Dinner with friends, great vibes! Highly recommend the cochita pibil! My friend swears it was the best she’s ever have
Definitely recommend. Excellent food, service, and fun ambiance.
Expected more. Food was ok. Not great. Music was loud. Service was good.
Always so delicious
A great find! Great vibe and unique fare... fantastic tortillas served piping hot. We will be back!
