Steakhouse
Permanently Closed - When you dine with us, there is no menu - simply tell your waitress how you would like your steak cooked. Choose ‘blue’, ‘rare’, ‘medium’ or ‘well done’. After a starter of green salad dressed with a french dijon mustard vinaigrette and crushed walnuts, you’ll be presented with the best steak frites in town served with our famous sauce since 1959. We’ll even bring you seconds (believe us, you’ll want it). Feel free to accompany your meal with one of our specially selected wines. To round off the meal, choose from a selection of cheeses, or a range of divine homemade desserts including profiteroles, meringues and naughty-but-ice cream confections.

I am leaving such a low review, because I had confirmed reservations (via OpenTable) for a party of 8 on Saturday 6/24 at 7:00 pm. This was for a birthday dinner. Upon us arriving the restaurant was completely closed. We waited for 30 minutes while trying to scramble and find alternate restaurants in the area that could immediately accommodate our party, but as you can imagine that was very difficult considering it was Saturday night. I've eaten here before and food/ambiance/service was good, but the fact there there was no notice whatsoever that the restaurant was closed was a huge inconvenience and disappointing. Both the Open Table listing and the restaurants actual website and phone message said that the restaurant was open, so not sure what happened here.

Several people have told us that this is a good place to go, but at least on the evening we went that was not the case. The meet was decent. The sauce was ordinary. The french fries were soggy, and they were out of several of the deserts on the menu. for a restaurant that only makes one dish, if that dish is not extraordinary, what is the point of going there.

Been going to entrecôte since it opened. It took a while for them to pick up and improve food and service. Last time we were there it was almost as good as Paris minus the ambiance. . This time the Food quality has gone down significantly to the point that it was not edible. I don't think we will be back. Too bad. We had high hope.

Way too expensive for what it was. Are in the restaurant in Paris last. Steak was chewy here. They were lined up to get into restaurants in Paris. We won't be back

I was hoping to experience a wonderful evening, replete with great food & service; however, I was disappointed. The place was empty and as a result, I thought I was going to get superior service & food; sadly, neither happened.

You will read a lot of reviews about restaurants saying "it's like home"... Well, this one is exactly like its elder sister in Paris. We go there for this special sauce, perfectly cooked meat, and the best French fries in LA.

OBSESSED WITH THIS PLACE! Food was incredible. Only complaint we had was that the portion size was a bit small - until they came out and offered us extra steak! All you can eat steak and fries at an amazing price. What a nice experience ordering as well. Definitely coming back as much as possible!

It is good food and tastes very good, nearly as good as in Paris and it is reasonably priced. You are seriously understaffed and the poor waitresses, as nice as they are, cannot provide a good service. Your wine list is poor. There is no parking (the side parking is nearly always full). The ambiance could be a little warmer (it's a plain big open plan). No bar no liquor (like in Paris I know + expensive if at all available, I also know, but it would help). Sorry for all these criticisms but this is my honest opinion. This being said except for the salad which is a little skimpy in it's serving the food tastes very good and I will come back (which I have done a few times already.) Good luck!

We have been to the Paris restaurant and thought we would try this. However the portions here in USA are very little compared to Paris so a major disappointment. Probably won't go back.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is based on its long-standing equivalent in Paris, which has been a favorite of mine for over 50 years. The menu is simple: salad, steak, fries and dessert. The only choice you have to make is how well-done you want your steak, and what you want to pick for dessert (terrific choices, by the way). Lack of valet parking is a problem, and I would urge restaurant to remedy this, or they will lose customers. However, we were able to find street parking without a problem. PLEASE go to this restaurant: I don't want to lose it!!!

Awesome food. Just like any other Entrecote that i've tried Internationally. Totally lives up to the concept with fulfillment and is one of my favorite places to eat worldwide period. The sauce is everything. They have a simple basic menu but it's done very well offering you a very rich meal. There's just very minimal flexibility and that doesn't fit too well with american culture so people started talking rubbish about the restaurant lashing out. But if you've been to France and/or know about the concept, you would totally understand it and love it, there's no two ways about that. It's not for the noobs who think all they're getting is steak and fries and it's not worth 50$. No, this is a place that's very iconic and irreplaceable, quite capable of turning non-meat eaters into meat eaters, or atleast so for Entrecote. Would recommend this place to almost anyone. 11/10.

Food is always great. Been here a lot. Only place that reminds me of Paris. Even though the sauce is not 100% like Le Relais in Paris, but very close. Only problem is that the steak is not hot.

A group of friends got together to celebrate my birthday. I have very fond memories of the 29 Rue de Marignan Paris location and we figured my birthday would be a good excuse to try the LA one. The food is just as I remembered including that delicious sauce. The servers were very nice but as the place became busier the service became spottier. I think they needed at least one more waitress. All in all, I'll be back.

Absolutely terrible. Disappointing in every way. The restaurant is large with empty spaces everywhere. The tables uncomfortably small and not filling up the space. They obviously were trying to recreate a Parisian experience with the small tables but it's awkward and doesn't look or feel good. They take the fun out of the experience by refusing to put the meat and the fire on the table. The food was subpar, fries were dry and clearly made in old oil, the sauce was not the same as the original, the steak was average in every way. And to make it all worse, the dessert was old and reheated AND they served a drip coffee instead of espresso without saying anything. And then took 30 minutes to even look at us so we could ask for the check and another 20 before they brought. Never going back. I'll be surprised if they make it through the year. Gross.

This is our favorite restaurant to go in Paris because it's such a cultural icon and the food is consistent and delicious. It's so simple, just steak frites, but they're always perfectly cooked and served hot. Plus you get second helpings! One problem is that the LA one doesn't seem to be catching on and we suspect it might be because there are no options for vegetarians. We went for a friend's birthday on a Thursday evening and there were only three other parties, and they were all birthdays! It was so funny that every table sang a happy birthday. So we posted photos of the delicious food on FB because we want to encourage Angelinos to give it a try.

My wife and I went to Relais de Venise in London a few times and loved it. We were pleased to see this restaurant in LA. Assumed it was similar and it turns out it is from the same family. Simple menu of steak frites and salad, but always cooked well. A glass of red wine and fine meal. Perfect and easy!

We went there for the valentines date and it was a disaster because no where on open table it said they had a fixed price menu for their fixed menu, usually it's $31 for their menu but this night they high jacked the prices to $69 and didn't tell the people reserving! What do you do when you're out with your date ??? You're basically screwed! They are a disaster!

I had a terrible experience. I grew up in Paris, France and have been going to Le Relais De L'Entrcote for over 15 years and this was by far my worst experience. Marie-Paule Burrus would be ashamed of the service at the new West Hollywood location. Not only was it Valentines Day, with a special menu, but the restaurant was packed with people and there were only a few servers for the entire floor. We arrived for our reservation at 8:30 PM and were not able to leave until over two hours later closer to 11:00 PM simply due to the service. I was incredibly disappointed that service has been completely overlooked at this new location. Back in Paris, the service was exceptional every time. That's what this brand is usually all about; great food, great service, and a fun ambiance. Not the case in the United States I guess. I used to trust this brand but no longer due and it is heartbreaking. This truly was one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will try and ensure my friends do not make the same mistake I did.

We met my son and his girlfriend in West Hollywood on our way home from a conference in San Diego. This was a fun and very flexible experience. Due to the horrendous LA traffic it took us longer to get to Hollywood than anticipated. I called and asked for a later reservation. The hostess was very gracious and they we able to accommodate our request. There is no food choice which is a great thing on a Friday night when you don't want to decide one more thing for the week! Steak cooked to your liking, pomme frites and a delightful salad were excellent and sufficient. Seconds portions are available so kind of an all you can eat done upscale! This restaurant was recommended by my niece who had eaten in the restaurant in Paris. She absolutely raved about it so I was excited for the opportunity to try it and am in agreement with her review! Now if they would just open one up here on the San Francisco Peninsula we won't have to drive to Hollywood for dinner!

I would never have chosen this restaurant, but went only because I was celebrating a friend's birthday. The birthday girl wanted to try this restaurant based on childhood nostalgia of experiencing this restaurant decades ago as a kid at its original Paris location. I did not look up the restaurant ahead of time and was very disappointed to learn they only have one meal offering of steak and frites. My disappointment was not the fact they only served one thing, but with the actual meal being offered. I do not often eat steak and potatoes. I suppose I could have gotten over it if it was good. I was even more disappointed to eat the meal, which felt like I was being served a kid's meal. The best part of the meal was the Rose.

I've been waiting for this to open for a LONG time. My expectations were high, because I have been disappointed many times before by imposters. But this is the real thing! I took my wife and daughter to the Relais de Venise in Parismany years ago and we have been waiting for it to come to LA. We went for my wife's birthday and our daughter insisted over dinner that we return at the end of the month for HER dinner. So we'll be back. Again and again.

We arrived and were not even acknowledged for at least 20 minutes along with three other parties - our reservation was pointless. When we finally were acknowledged, we were seated soon after (now 45 minutes after our reservation) but the table was strange (three tables of two pushed together for our party of three) and many of the empty tables were dirty and had not been cleaned. They were sold out of all red wine other than one of the more expensive bottles. It took forever to get wine and even longer to get the food, which was mediocre at best. Really bad experience of a place I liked in NY.

The place was very chaotic with dirty dishes and tables everywhere and 10-15 ppl meandering around the front waiting to be seated. I was never able to find the host and left after 10 minutes. Il Piccolino, down the street, was able to fit us in last minute and saved the day :)

No hostess was available and no one was in charge of seating guests. Very embarrassing and unacceptable situation.
