A very cute bbq-esque experience. The decor is an homage to your 50’s style diner and hits the nostalgia bone just right. For dinner, the restaurant was steady with patrons, but still had a good amount of open seating. I made a reservation for 7:30, but was in the neighborhood, so I stopped in 45 minutes early. We waited an appropriate 10 minutes for a table. The tables for two are committed to the plot, but they are too small for two entrees, two drinks, and two starter plates. Shuffling around plates to make everything fit was a burdensome task. The bread and butter was the star of the show. How they get each slice so crisp and moist all at the same time is pure wizardry. The Pommes persillade were also a texture wonderland. Hot, crispy, crunchy, gooey, soft, perfect potato bites. The broccoli cheddar was the most flavorful dish. The broccolini were perfectly cooked, a healthy crunch with every bite. The cheddar and fried shallots were heaven with a lemony finish. The pork and peas were good, but I don’t think I could call it an entree. The smoke and the fat were awesome elements, but it definitely needed something to cut in between. The split pea just wasn’t the element this dish needed for me. The pineapple upside down cake was also very flavorful. It felt like a play on a cornbread dessert. The cake was very moist and had a wonderful mouth feel. I couldn’t really taste the pineapple or cherry elements. Most of all, the dessert tasted sugar sweet. Instead of a chantilly cream, I would have preferred a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a butter spread. I feel like I might have just ordered the wrong entree and admit that I should have just come in at my reservation time, but this experience was just a miss for me. Everything was good, but just not quite great. I am going to come in again and give it another try, because I know there is endless potential here. Till then!

We had an amazing time. The food was out of this world. The only thing we would have changed was the volume of the music inside. There were 4 of us seated at the table, and it seemed like we had to yell to hear each other. If the volume was lower so it was easier to have a conversation it would have been perfect!

Starters were very good, authenic and new flavors, we had the bread and potatoes, both amazing. Desert was wonderful. We were a bit disappointed by the Steak Diane (meat was overcooked) and by the pork and peas, felt something was missing. Ambiance is fabulous, and the waitress was very nice. Worth going, hopefully they will fix the little problems.

So happy a place like this exists in Orange County! Nostalgic & comforting is the best way to describe the whole vibe from the food to the decor to the service. All of our dishes were amazing. The Pommes Persillade was seriously the best thing I’ve eaten in awhile. We had the Pork & Peas which was definitely hearty and comforting. The Steak Diane was also great. Each of the entree dishes was pretty big so make sure you bring your appetite or be prepared to take some food home. Service was warm and friendly & they had a nice selection of well priced natural wines as well. Overall, we really had a nice time during our dinner there. We are super excited to add this spot to our list of regular go to spots for a nice meal.

We enjoyed our dinner at Le Hut this weekend. Luna, our server, was delightful! The menu was delicious: our favorites were the wedge salad, the tuna tartare, and the grilled sea bass. WOW! Each dish had wonderful flavors and were perfect portions. The steak was a bit overdone, but everything else was excellent. And while we aren't usually fans of pineapple upside down cake, this final dish rounded out the meal: subtle flavors, dense and moist cake. YUM! Just the right ending to our dinner. We would eat here again!
