    For one night only, Le Coq welcomes Chef Rene Andrade of Bacanora—James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Southwest 2024—for a special Friends in Town dinner in partnership with OpenTable x Visa. Chef Rene has earned national acclaim for his wood-fired cooking and unapologetically bold flavors that reflect the Sonoran heritage of his hometown in northern Mexico. Bacanora, named one of The New York Times’ Best Restaurants in America, is a cult favorite in Phoenix—and for good reason. On September 21, Chefs René Andrade and Tara Monsod will come together to create a 5-course menu that explores the borderless spirit of the Southwest. Expect local ingredients, stories worth savoring, and a celebration of culture and fire. Due to the nature of this collaborative menu, modifications and substitutions will not be available. Friends in Town, a dining series by OpenTable x Visa, allows guests to experience collaborations between two chefs from different cities creating unique, limited-time menus.     Your DJ is horrible. Worst mix we’ve ever heard and we attend a ton of house/DJ concerts, events and parties. It was as though she’d never mixed before. She ruined the entire vibe of dinner. Fire her now!

    Everything was wonderful except my main. I ordered rack of lamb which was doused in syrup I could not eat it. The rest of the food was great however I went home starving because I could not eat my main. Also a $15 baguette should be on par with a good bakery like Wayfarer but It was average at best. The butter was outstanding.

    I was really looking forward to this donner and came away very disappointed. Service was great for the first hour, then we somehow became invisible as the restaurant emptied out. I had ordered Steak Frites rare, and it came out closer to medium than medium rare. I might have asked to have it redone, but we had become invisible by then and the waiter never made the obligatory "is everything ok?" stop. The delays in trying to enter a dessert order convinced us to just forget about it. The check arrived with a 4% service charge on top of everything. I discovered this was disclosed in a footnote in the menu, but I am just not in the habit of looking for fine print to see what my dinner will actually cost me. I regard this as a deceptive business practice the footnote notwithstanding.

    Overall give a 4.25-4.5 score. We went to the pre-set Tuna tasting and decided to add an appetizer. If we went again, we would have added a side veggie to share instead. We found this to be a good value at $65.00/pp. We both had 2 mixed drinks that were crafted well and strong. Pros: Servers were very professional and well coordinated. The decor ambiance is comfortable and beautiful. The food was very good. Cons: The volume of the music was too loud for me. If I'm enjoying a fine dining experience, I want to be able to have a conversation with the people at my table. Also, food was a little overly salty. I read this in other reviews and I agree. This is a note to the chef. You have good quality food, don't ruin it by over-salting. Also the tuna tartar would have been better with less cream sauce. Again, good quality food doesn't need all that. The food was overall a solid 4.5 though and a good value. I would come here again, just knowing it won't be the quiet fine dining experience I'd like so I'd go for a more casual experience.

    Excellent service. Andrew, my server, was attentative, knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. The tuna tartare was one of the best dishes I have eaten. The Denver steak and pomme pave were outstanding. The restaurant has a great vibe as well. I highly recommend Le Coq.
