Le Colonial is a celebration of the seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920s, located in the heart of one of America’s largest and most diverse cities.
A lavish downstairs dining room is adorned with period photography, overhead fans and leather banquettes, and flanked by a Parisian-Style sidewalk café. A dramatic staircase leads to a second level lounge, where a large bar, mahogany millwork and plush seating create the perfect atmosphere for cocktails and light fare.

This place was simply amazing! From being greeted, the food, and our waitress everything was perfect. I took my girlfriend for our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our waitress was perfect, the food was delicious, and the other staff members are all amazing! Shoutout to our server (I think her name was Kylie). We will be returning in the future!

Everything was fantastic for our anniversary celebration! Great server, service and delicious cold shrimp roll and chicken stir fry but the shrimp in the incredible green curry were almost inedible, so huge in size and overcooked they were. But the dessert of crème brûlée made us forget that small distraction to cap off a wonderful memory!

The food is very good. The portions have shrunk since the first time we ate here. And the prices have gone up. If money is no object and small portion are ok, the food is delicious. Tonight the service was spotty at best.

Out table for two was extremely small and barely fit the dishes we ordered. We had to play Tetris with our meals a few times as they brought our order out. The tables are also too close together to the point you could hear every word from the other patrons on both sides. The servers were courteous but didn’t seem happy to be there, and I didn’t care for any of the dishes they recommended. The main courses and desserts were unremarkable. We enjoyed the apps and drinks though.

We had to wave down for service from the time they sat us down to asking for the check. We had a nice guy with glasses, tiny ponytail, and full beard take our order who was not our server. Our server Royce was really not there for our table or the table next to us. A lady came over and told she would take care of us but she only came over once on her own. The rest we had to wave down for service. Food was great when it came. The table next to us sat after and received their food before us. Overall did not stay for dessert bc we did not want to stay another hour. You’re better than this Le Colonial. Do better.

Love this place. Food is always excellent. Met the new manager. Was not impressed with his willingness to get to know us. We go here at least 30 times a year. We know the staff better than him.

Specifically requested table on the first floor. Have an Open Table confirmation for downstairs table. When I arrived, restaurant said they did not know anything about a request for a downstairs table. My guests arrived before I did and had been seated at a table upstairs on the very noisy enclosed balcony. Sucked. Hard to gave a conversation at the table.

This was our first visit & it was amazing!! We’d talked about going then Hubby went to a business cocktail event here & we decided we had to try it. We were warmly greeted, seated right away & were approached by our server. We ordered cocktails & the Fire Cracker Beef appetizer. It was delicious - beef inside a “crepe” type wrap. Then we decided to try the chicken dumplings, which were fabulous!! We ordered a wonderful bottle of wine & hubby ordered the Shaking Beef while I opted for the Daily Market Catch - a whole branzino, simply grilled, with rice noodles, shredded carrot, pickled vegetables & fish sauce with lettuce leaves to wrap it in. OMG! I can’t imagine eating anything else here!! I love fish sauce so that was a plus but I loved it. It was 2 huge fish filets so hubby happily helped me eat it & I cannot say enough about how fantastic the food, service & wine list are. Whew, I can’t wait to go back. Lovely evening!! Highly recommend!!

Delicious food though some of our entrees were a bit pricey for lunch. We sat outside on the last day you can comfortably do so this year and loved the weather. As outside diners, we never felt neglected. This is a great place!

Too many flies and bar flies ruin the experience . I used to live going here but the last 3 trips have been the same . The shaken beef was over cooked. Not sure what has happened to this amazing place that I used to love going.

We’ve been coming here for years and I will stand by the fact that the service here needs a lot of work. We ordered the shrimp and pork egg rolls and several came out burnt we sent the plate back. We also ordered spicy soup that had no spice (missing the peppers that make the soup spicy) had to Send it back. The manager never stopped by to see if everything was ok or to check on us. When we asked for him he never came to the table instead stood at the hostess stand and waited for us to walk out telling us to have a good day. This food isn’t cheap, I wouldn’t consider it fine dining but compared to places on bellaire this place is expensive and we don’t mind paying but we are paying to be treated with respect and with care if we want to be disregarded we could go somewhere a lot cheaper. We dine here so often and we are familiar with many of the managers this one wasn’t a familiar face but he needs some help And training on customer service and attentiveness.
