   I recently dined at Le Colonial Houston and was very disappointed with the outdoor dining experience. The intense sunlight made it extremely uncomfortable, and the restaurant’s layout, combined with minimal shade and inadequate awnings, provided little relief. Although the food was good, it was difficult to enjoy under such oppressive conditions; we were practically sizzling. There were no fans or sufficient coverings to help mitigate the heat, making the patio feel more like a sauna than a pleasant dining space. Unless you're prepared to endure extreme temperatures, I wouldn’t recommend sitting on the patio during the warmer months. The restaurant should seriously consider upgrading its outdoor accommodation.

   We visit the Rest. first time the ambience and food was excellent. Our waiter drive us through the Menu very good.

   Started with a Saigon colada for me and Smoked old fashioned for Mo. As an appetizer we did crispy shrimp &pork rolls. Then moved on to Beef Phó. The main was “shaken beef” then, finalized with a scoop of coconut ice cream. Happy Mother’s Day Cat Mamma. Our server, Kylie, was fantastic! Very attentive, friendly and a great conversationalist. We ordered family style and she suggested coursing out our dishes. The general manager came and spoke with us multiple times. Again, outstanding service from the entire staff.

   Great ambiance and decor, cool spot for a date, food is mostly good but expensive...but we had below par service that didn't come close to matching the expense. We ate "outside" (really inside but with fresh air through the blinds) and maybe they don't put their most experienced or best service people there. Service was very slow and infrequent from the nice young lady who served us.... I was brought the wrong drink (I ordered a mocktail and was given a drink with alcohol). Table next to us was left with dirty dishes for a really long time (weird to have that happen at a place that suggests diners attire). As others noted, small plates are good and worthwhile. Some of the large plates are expensive for what you get, some really worthwhile. I would recommend skipping the desserts...two of the three desserts weren't special and not worth the price. My advice is to get a reservation in the main dining room...my guess is that is where experienced staff are.
