Le Colonial makes you like as if you’re in the French Quarter of historic Hanoi. The menu is terrific, and the food fantastic. On a Monday evening, the restaurant seemed full but we were told that they had only one bartender, which was a problem because drinks service was very slow. I would definitely return, but talk with the server ahead of time about expectations.

My husband and I don’t drink, and I hate when we go out to celebrate our anniversary and we are offered a champagne toast. The gesture is well intentioned, but is awkward to have to send it back to the bar. I always make a note of this, but Le Colonial actually acknowledged this when seating us and brought out an NA toast to celebrate. It really makes a difference when going out to a fine dining experience, and you feel like they tailored your dining experience to your requests & needs.

Le Colonial is beautiful inside; we loved the bar area and that the patio was shaded in the afternoon. The menu was hit and miss. If you know what to order, the food is fantastic. Some other items were just ok - not worth the cost and not impressive. Lotus Salad, Shaking Beef, and Green Beans were great! Snapper for two and tuna tartare were just ok. Service was hit and miss. Our server was nice but timing was frustrating and I don’t think the quality of service was quite there. Too long to greet the table, big delays between when she stopped by, long lead times for drinks and food, and she submitted the wrong items for part of our order but things were taking so long it wasn’t worth it to us to wait for her to come by again and wait for it to be fixed. Overall, good not great experience. Vibe is cute.

Our waitress Charlie was amazing, attentive and she recommend perfect wine that goes very well with our food. The food is delicious! One of the best Vietnamese restaurant I have been.

Have dined multiple times at Le Colonial(s). Have walked away with “10” ratings each time. Last evening did not match our expectations. The time it took to receive our drinks was excessively long. This was the 1st time in ages that neither my wife nor I could taste the alcohol in our mixed drinks. Our server was seasoned , professional, and very pleasant for the very few “seconds” that she could spent at our table. The time between our course ordering took an unexpected extended amount of time. It was clear that the restaurant was understaffed at multiple levels. This waitperson could not keep up with the tables assigned. The food itself and presentation was excellent. Gave it a 7 out of 10 last nite.

Lunch with two friends. Ordered 3 small plates, all outstanding! Fabulous chocolate cake desert. Can't wait to return and try new plates!
