Ladurée The Grove
Very classic French nestling at the grove garden. Onion soup is a must ! Very delicious and not too salty
I was excited to see a Laduree in LA having lived in Paris for three years. We went and were a bit disappointed at the menu selection. I suspect they are trying to be appealing to local folks by having more california style foods (eg avocado toast) and vegan options. But we came for authentic French food and found that the croque monsieur was made with turkey ham!?!? I was really hoping for some real Parisian ham. The service was outstanding and we did take away some macaroons which were delicious and fresh. I hope they can make the restaurant food more authentic. The French restaurant in the Farmers Market just adjacent is more traditional. And, you can get Parisian hm at the butcher to take home!
Nice, but the staff was short handed for the holiday traffic
Not enough waiters. Not so comfortable to eat.
Service was terrible took to long to get food, when food finally arrived it was cold. Prices were too high for the quality of food and service delivered.
My first and only poor rating for a restaurant on Open Table. With the exception of the French Onion soup, the food was tasteless and lukewarm to cold. The service was inattentive, even though the upstairs dining room was almost empty. The service was inattentive even when we raised it with our server. The decor is dated and needs replacement — all of the small tables upstairs are horribly unbalanced. Never again for lunch or dinner, especially at almost $200 for four.
They were out of the 2 appetizers we wanted to order (which is about half if their appetizers). They didn’t tell us until we went to order. They then put the items on our bill that they were out of.
food: was okay. I cannot say food was excellent but bakery and sweets are good!
service: some servers were friendly and others were not
really pretty garden style patio (no indoor seats for the restaurant customers) which was also pet friendly.
Breakfast with my daughter
They closed the kitchen before our reservation, so food options were limited to beverages and pastries, which was disappointing. The pastries are delicious though. Service was okay, but cold and absent-minded. Luckily they have great ambience and a direct view of the Christmas Tree decorations during the holidays.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious, French cuisine.
We didn’t even get to dine there because our interaction with the host was THAT terrible. We made a reservation for 8:30pm, and arrived early at 7:30pm, and instead of greeting us kindly he said, “oh are you the 8:30pm reservation? We’ve been so slow tonight we wanted to close early but we couldn’t because you made a late reservation”. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say so I glanced at the menu and said we would go somewhere else. I used to work in the industry for years as a hostess, server and manager, so I get it, but really? Business is business. I would never allow an employee to say that to a customer.
Sat outside. It was very pleasant ...great people watching too.
Had salmon with cauliflower...it was excellent. Only complaint is the
small container they serve coffee in does not stay hot and when we went to
pour the remainder of the coffee it was ice coffee, not hot coffee.
Every item better than the last. Given the choice to sit outside or in, enjoy the magic under the stars and lights!
Went to Ladure for the Grove tree lighting. Staff was very accommodating of large party with infant. Service was good despite such a busy evening. Fixed price menu did not accommodate teens who don't drink alcohol. Desserts were very good. They ran out of hot chocolate , with no appropriate substitute. which is rather unacceptable. OVerall, an nice experience if you are going for the busy tree lighting.
Sat outside, ambiance was nice and food was as expected. However, service was lacking - had to ask for water, waited 20+ min for a latte and had to re-order it. They switched servers mid-way through our meal without saying anything and we were delivered the wrong check (for another table). I'd come for desserts to go, but would not dine in again.
We sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed brunch under the shady trees. Food was on point. I would definitely go back!!!
We were excited to go here. However we had a reservation for 11:15. We had a hard time finding parking so called that we would be late. We got there at 11:25, 10 minutes later, and they gave our table away anyway. They put a couple in a four person table. This was my daughters birthday brunch. They said it would be a 10 minute delay but after 20, we asked to have two tables pushed together to accommodate the 4 of us. We had a 12:30 facial reservation so pressed a bit for time. Why could they not have offered this sooner? Manager and employee were arguing several times during our meal Food was really good I have to say.
Cute place, food not the best. Our serve was super nice and accommodating.
Great girls breakfast with out of town friend.
Food was decent. Service was lacking. Server dropped off our food without silverware and halfway through the meal began to ignore us. We had to wait 20+ min for our check and even had to ask a second person for it. Would only come in for desserts from the pick up counter.
Great breakfast place, amazing French toast
It was good as usual but the outdoor tables were dirty and the chair pads were covered in old food. I was also charged $7 for a hot water refill on my tea. Not sure I’ll make visiting here again a priority.
When we arrived, was seated at a table and left there without being checked in on, given menus or water. We had to flag down the waiter to order, walk up to the desk to ask for our check and then walk the check up there because no one ever stopped by our table to help us in any way. Super overpriced for the food which was terrible. The sandwiches were gross, fries were cold, the pasta was also cold. The macarons were the best thing.
I'll recommend Laduree , the food is good and good ambiance
The outdoor seating was nice. The food was okay, not worth the high price tag. They also got our order wrong, they forgot to give us our finger sandwiches and mini pastries. We had to ask them for it.
We took my neice for her birthday and the staff at Ladurée made her day so special. She is a shy girl so it was wonderful to see her so happy and engaged with the experience. She loved everything and ate everything (a first!) and the rest of the family also loved the experience.
Overall we were let down by this dining experience. For a famous name and all the expectations that come with it, this iteration of Laduree did not do it justice.
I wish wish wish this was a different review! I was so ready to tell all my friends to come and to return again myself. Maybe one more time in case this was a fluke. I hope.
Not the restaurants fault at all but there was a guy seated behind us who kept talking to us and was being rude to his date. He made my daughter feel uncomfortable.
Wait staff handled it great and they were helpful, polite and very nice.
Maybe our expectations were too high but it was very much an average mall restaurant experience.
Overpriced for what it was.
Just like the one in Paris
Server was accommodating. Ambiance was great. Love all the dessert options.
I booked a reservation for my mother for a surprise Mother’s Day treat. I called the place beforehand and gave an employee (Julian) my credit card info so that I could pay for my mom’s meal since I wasn’t able to join her in LA. I remember asking for confirmation on how my info would be handled and definitely didn’t want to end up paying for the wrong table’s meal. He said they would take care of it for me.
They ended up not using any of the credit card info I gave them and charged my mom instead. She asked them again just to be sure and they said that the credit card on file was just to hold the reservation—which was completely inaccurate! I called on my own to provide this information and they didn’t even use it. I am very disappointed and also gravely concerned about what instead happened to my credit card info. Also, I feel pretty embarrassed having gone through such lengths to try and treat my mom and have it not work out as planned. Not recommending this place, not coming back, maybe try the other locations for better service.
We decided to have brunch at Ladurée on Easter Sunday and were seated at one of the outdoor, shaded tables. My daughter & I shared a few items. We ordered the scrambled egg/salmon/avocado toast, a lobster Caesar salad, and the French toast with raspberry coulis & rose Chantilly cream. The avocado toast & Caesar salad were both good, nice size portions, and there was a decent amount of lobster in the salad. The French toast was delicious. My husband ordered the lobster roll and French onion soup and enjoyed both. We also purchased some macarons to go. The service was friendly, but not very attentive as no one offered to refill our drinks or water the entire time. Overall, the food was quite good and the ambiance is really nice and the macarons are very tasty.
Birthday trip to LA - they even treated me to a plate of macorons to celebrate! Brought back happy memories of Paris!
The food was ok -
Sadly, service was amiss that day. Had to flag down a server to take our order then a few of the items never arrived. We did not pay for the items, so no problem. Just not attentive service.
We had a nice time though and the mock tails and pastry were tasty. My daughter loves this place, so I am sure we will be back.
I went here for my 18 birthday and I absolutely loved it! The food was amazing and the desserts were so yummy! I had the rose latte, it so cute and pink! The atmosphere was so springy and cozy.
A delightful taste of Paris in SoCal! Delicious croque monsieur and onion soup!
When we made the reservations we didn’t know Laduree didn’t have indoor seating at the Grove. It’s outdoors and very compact. It’s also right next to the lawn area where we had someone changing a diaper right beside our table and someone else who brought a dog potty pad and laid it out for all 3 of their dogs to go to the restroom on while lounging on the grass. Needless to say, none of us had an appetite being surrounded by this ambiance! The food was fine—nothing special. The iced tea was $7 for a lowball glass. Such a rip off!
