   We visited La Voss because someone had bought me a Groupon voucher for a Steak and Lobster meal as a birthday present. We travelled for 45 mins to get there to be told that La Voss management had changed and they could not honour my voucher! We decided to stay as we were hungry and wasn't really concerned that we were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered a starter of Garlic bread which was cold on one side and very flaky, we complained and they put it back in the oven which seemed to make it even flakier and appeared to be stale. My partner's Salmon main meal was uncooked in places and he gave up trying to eat it after a couple of mouthfuls. I ordered Sea Bass which was supposed to come with vegetables and a side dish of rice, I didn't get any vegetables! I ordered an apple juice which they had to go to out and buy a carton of Apple juice! We really couldn't wait to leave.

   We chose this restaurant for dinner because it was close to hotel where we stayed. Was a bit chilly as sitting near door which staff went in and out frequently. Many in our party felt the portions were small - particularly mean with potato and veg served with main course. However, food tasted good but was served on cold plates so chilled very quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful and meal was not expensive.

   I chose La Voss because we'd been to a matinee at Hampstead Theatre. Garlic bread was fine; mains - both the liver & chicken cacciatore seemed to have the same sauce, though it was pleasant. I refuse to believe that anyone Italian was in charge of portion size, however.............. Desserts? Always good in an Italian place, right? Er - no.......There was a panna cotta cheesecake on offer, but a woman at the next table shook her head & made a face, warning us not to order it. Alternative was ice cream - but no vanilla, so we declined, & got the bill. If you can't buy a tub of basic ice cream for the freezer on a Saturday night, I can only guess that you don't really want to please customers!

   Located on a very busy stretch of Finchley road i was surprised how quiet it was inside no noise from outside could be heard. Food was average, the only dish standing out against the rest was melanzano parmigiano which we had as a starter. Service on the other hand was outstanding.
